  1. Exactly ! Hammer them both, well more so the Faroes as Goal Difference against the Faroe Islands counts and puts us in a better position đź‘Ť
  2. Curiosity got the better of me and I’ve had a look at the groups and forthcoming matches, if Scotland take maximum points in the next 3 games we’ll be seeded (tough ask) If Scotland take 6 points from next 3 games, then we are reliant from results elsewhere in the groups to get seeded!! As mentioned earlier - Groups D, E, H, J ( possibly G) are where we hope for results to go our way 🤞 Tonight Monday Oct 11th x6 results to keep an eye on !! 1. N.Macedonia v Germany ( need a German win ) 2. Norway v Montenegro ( Norway to drop points, unlikely but we can hope ) 3. Slovenia v Russia ( Slovenia win or avoid defeat to Russia ) 4. Latvia v Turkey ( Turkey to drop points ) 5. Romania v Armenia ( Romania to Win ) 6. Estonia v Wales ( Wales to drop points ) Tomorrow night Tuesday Oct 12th x4 results to keep an eye on !! 1. Albania v Poland ( Poland to drop points ) 2. Sweden v Greece ( Greece away win, or take a point ) 3. Lithuania v Switzerland ( Swiss to drop points, unlikely but handy if so ) 4. Ukraine v Bosnia ( a draw is good here ) unusual thing about Group.D is Ukraine and Bosnia still to play each other twice! So 2 draws or both win one each and Group.D is a lower seeded 2nd place Team…..
  3. It’s a given that for Scotland to make the play-offs we need to win the next 2 away games against the Faroe Islands and Moldova, however the trip to Chisinau gives me the fear! If Scotland take maximum points in these games it will leave us on 20pts which effectively means 14pts (points not counting against bottom team in a group of 6) I’ve not included the Denmark game, they are very very strong and a draw at home would be huge (kinda unlikely though) IMO it will be 50/50 if we get seeded or are one of the bottom 4 2nd placed Teams…. The only way I think for us to get a 2nd place seeding is by results going our way from Groups D, E, H, J ( and possibly G )
  4. I have a warm glow inside saying it’s our time to progress out of the group stages
  5. Fingers crossed a 25 man squad also, which may allow Gauld and Patterson to make the Euros
  6. Could do with S.Clarke persuading A.McGregor to return for the Finals and then call it a day
  7. So it’s unlikely we’ll see a 7-0 demolition of the Faroes then ??
  8. Listening to Clarke prior to Israel game - there was a sense of loyalty with him saying fresh legs, 3 games coming close together, fresh legs etc Out of loyalty will he start McBurnie to try get him his 1st goal for Scotland? I certainly hope he doesn’t !! Read somewhere goal difference comes into it and unsure if points against the Minnow Team count but are Moldova the lowest ranked Team in our group?
  9. Ryan Jack confirmed as pulling out of squad, Clarke to get on the phone and make that correct decision. Gilmour welcome to the Team/Squad........
  10. Back on topic, Che Adams must surely start on Thursday night now! McBurnie another blank and frustrating performance and his confidence must be shot to pieces....... Dykes + Adams together up front, or Adams just playing off/behind Dykes
  11. 100% agree with this, Armstrong for me is a starter and on current form ahead of McGregor in Midfield
  12. Is Ryan Jack currently injured + likely to miss all 3 Scotland games or could he potentially return for the last two games ?
  13. I have to agree, Armstrong has been an ever present (more or less) for Southampton this season. Adams + Armstrong starting against Austria would be the way forward
  14. Well, just to say Jordan Rhodes has scored more goals today than Oli McBurnie has scored all season....... Just saying
  15. Jordan Rhodes at it again, another lovely strikers goal I’d have him the squad for sure, not in favour with Steve Clarke but I can see a goalscorer when I see one! Surely Jordan Rhodes merits a call before McBurnie
  16. Cracking goal from Kenny McLean there..... Promising signs our players scoring, playing well and hopefully get through the weekend injury free
  17. Good to here Adams having a good game and also Armstrong chipping in with 2 assists Would like to see Dykes + Adams starting against Austria and Armstrong playing in Midfield
  18. Lyndon Dykes back on the scoresheet again
  19. Lovely goal from Jordan Rhodes And a nice delivery from Barry Bannan
  20. 100% correct with this post, continuing with McBurnie would be futile! His confidence is low and taking a risk with him in crucial Qualifiers is not the answer.....
  21. I like that starting XI my strongest XI at present would be ( unsure on formation but it’s difficult to pick XI as there a lot of quality players who’d be on the bench) D.Marshall K.Tierney A.Robertson D.Gallagher G.Hanley J.Hendry R.Jack S.McTominay S.Armstrong C.Adams L.Dykes
  22. I’m too old and long in the tooth nowadays and having seen too many other countries exploit this ruling then I’m afraid if it’s okay with Steve Clarke it’s okay with me....
  23. Do you really think if Che Adams scores or just even really impresses for the World Cup Qualifiers and McBurnie continues with complete lack of form/goals he will still select him over Che Adams ??
  24. A Push Poll by the looks of it 🤭
