  1. Not a chance. I canny get a signal on a train from Newcastle at the moment there is not a hope in hell of that phone working up a mountain. I think you are thinking,’ if I left now I might catch last orders at The Bull Inn’. We could maybe start a caption competition.
  2. First time I have seen this in about 8 years. Tories are getting battered. Damian Hinds is having a shocker. Woman from the Spectator is very irritating.
  3. 😂 aye well it is a bit ‘fur coat nae knickers’ around here .
  4. Mr Fox sunbathing in my garden. I was battering on the kitchen window and he didn’t even flinch.
  5. You are looking rather wistful Jim, what were you thinking of ? Och go on , dont be shy! 😁
  6. Times seem to think it is happening. Rumblings going on all morning. https://www.reuters.com/business/uk-registered-po-ferries-suspends-services-says-it-is-not-going-bust-2022-03-17/
  7. Maybe. Or it could just be that Scotland werent due to play Iraq, Syria or Libya at that time 🙂
  8. Yours, Ebenezer Scrooge Charitable Foundation
  9. Finished The Queens Gambit. Really enjoyed it despite knowing heehaw about chess other than the names of the pieces. On a completely different subject, I caught the C4 documentary about the Jeremy Kyle Show on Sunday night so watched the second part last night. Wtf. I have never seen a complete episode of the show, only caught snippets , I thought it was a load of rubbish and that it was mainly play acting by the contestants for notoriety. I am sure there was a degree of that but If this documentary is to be believed it was shockingly taking advantage of vulnerable people. I imagine the producers and Jeremy Kyle will come up with their own side to the story but it looks grim as hell. It was very sad to watch , there will be a lot of guilty consciences out there.
  10. I just think that Wales or Austria have more chance of being rested as I dont think they will field their first team , or will make loads of substitutions, in the nations league game. But you may be right. if we do win the semi perhaps adrenaline will keep the momentum going. Even if we have to witness a meltdown in Dublin a few days later ……🙄😊 The decision, whatever it is, is never going to please everyone.
  11. It makes sense from a disruption perspective but I think it also gives Wales or Austria an advantage , as well as their home advantage.
  12. I know, we had planned on driving to Wales regardless. I am no driving to Vienna the Russians might mistake me for Maria Von Trapp belting out Doh a Deer in my escape vehicle. I dont have a problem at all with the uncertainty of where we are playing, I am more bothered that we may be disadvantaged by potentially playing 2 major back to back games whereas Wales/Austria may field a weakened side for their nations league game to avoid injury .
  13. Yeah that is the only way it could be an advantage, but an advantage nonetheless. Wouldn’t mind Vienna myself as a city break. Whilst , on the other hand, ………. Canny wait for that either ……
  14. Aye but I could do that with hotels in 2 places, I have just cancelled 2 of them today 🙄 Its the travel that is more important , yes it would be good to know where you are going but unless you plan on going to that place regardless, you need to wait till the game is over to book it or risk losing money if we lose.
  15. Still cant really book anything till you know if we win though so not a huge advantage . I am not too chuffed about it though I can understand the desire to disrupt as few games as possible .
  16. I read in the last hour it is staying in place. https://nation.cymru/sport/potential-world-cup-play-off-final-for-wales-postponed-until-june-as-scotland-ukraine-match-moved/
  17. That is what the guy who tweeted the info is suggesting.
  18. I agree. I think Ukraine need to be given whatever support they can by football’s governing boards. Ukraine’s request for a postponement is probably nothing more than vain hope that Russia have been forced to withdraw by then , you cant extinguish that hope just for a bit of inconvenience and expense of other country’s football fans. It may only be a game of football and I understand people saying Ukraine have bigger things to worry about, but agreeing to a postponement is a big statement not only in support of the country but in sharing in their hope and belief that things may have changed. Even if the belief is , ultimately, in vain.
  19. Dont shoot the messenger , I dont particularly want it either , but from the sounds of things it seems quite possible .
  20. What would happen regarding tickets? Would the existing tickets for the Ukraine game be honoured for a later date and have a seperate ticket sale for a friendly with Poland ?
