  1. After the first leg we were in Shawlands about 1am and we came across 2 Dutch supporters pished and had no idea where they were. I went up to them and said ‘are you lost’ ? One of them replied ‘ah yes, but it is only half time, we still have the other half to play’ . 😂 It was unfortunately true. The away leg was on the same night as my daughters parents night at school. We were 1-0 down when I left and by the time I got back about it was about 0-4 . The final result was almost as bad as the school report. Hopefully a one leg tie suits us tonight.
  2. 😁 aye, all this stress isnt good for old bowels either.
  3. Weather in Belgrade tonight is 8 degrees and raining. Perfect playing conditions for us. None of this 25 degrees pish 👍
  4. 😂 aye, I will need to keep them separate from my Skittles ! I made a curry earlier and used 10 teaspoons of garam masala instead of rogan josh , so I had better keep my specs on.
  5. 😁 good point ! It’s a good time to start the tablets though. I get them at 4pm tomorrow . Cutting it a bit fine !
  6. Brilliant video. Might need to take 2 blood pressure tablets today.
  7. Meh, thats me on tablets for high blood pressure. I am on the borderline and could have worked at lowering it naturally for a few months , but I really would struggle to do much more to help as I dont smoke , am not overweight and dont eat particularly badly, apart from my Skittles addiction. I have exercised more this year than the last 15 yrs yet it is still high. Since the thought of spending any more time at the gym or giving up my wine would cause me even more stress, I am going on the tablets. For anyone not familiar with high blood pressure, there are no symptoms which makes it particularly dangerous. Mine was noticed a year ago at a general check up but at that stage was just below the first stage of hypertension. I should have got it rechecked but never went due to covid. I bought a heart monitor a couple of months ago it was about 145/94. I contacted the doctor and was asked to take 2 readings a minute apart, twice a day for 10 days, then send it to them. My average reading came out at 138/85 and they recommended I go on tablets although they wouldnt be adverse for me to try and get it down naturally. Undiagnosed, high blood pressure is very dangerous and can cause strokes and heart attacks . Things such as smoking , being overweight, eating too much salt, not exercising , drinking too much alcohol can cause it. Sustained high blood pressure tends to come from your lifestyle over a period of 10-20 years, not the short term. I would urge anyone who feels they may be susceptible to it to get a check at the docs , or buy yourself a monitor. I got a basic one in Boots for £20 .
  8. No. Because I know what its worth and it wouldn’t cover the cost of felling the bloody tree.
  9. 😂😂 😂😂 This is the longest week ever. I booked it off work months ago hoping for us to be in this position but not really expecting it. With pubs being shut I had to stock up in Morrisons, winning the Wednesday award for jakey of the day as I whipped every bottle of £5 Brancott Estate off the shelves. Only one more sleep 🤞
  10. Have had a look. He’s not quite Jamie from Outlander but I have seen much worse looking tortoises . Think it might be his mouth. He has a grumpy looking mouth, like a tortoise. He is probably fed up with folk comparing him to a tortoise.
  11. She has 👍 You get exactly what you see with Natalie, she is strong, hard working, empathetic and committed , people warm to that. She has every chance of winning. He has been really supportive to her 😊
  12. Where have you been Rip Van Winkle ? Its great, Ruth is my favourite character. A lot of folk feel it loses its way a bit but I have enjoyed every series.
  13. Its gonna have to lift its game to reach that lofty height for me, there are loads of series I have enjoyed more. TV is very subjective though , and it may be a grower.
  14. Ahem, James. The only person from our household , who was intelligent enough to be inside when Uncle Buck was entertaining in the garden , was me . 😗
  15. In that case that is fantastic news 👍 If anyone in Renfrewshire needs a freeview box let me know I have one spare !
  16. Dont want to be a party pooper as any help is a bonus, and it is a great win for Bzzz and friends, but how many Sky customers dont actually have Sky sports anyway ? I take it you need to be subscribed to Sky or buy their packages through some other provider to get access ?
  17. It’s a tie for Renfrewshire North and West candidate. Re-ballot.
  18. It’s a pity your wife wasnt keen. 4 seasons of 18 episodes is a lot of moments to pick ! My husband went to bed before the end of the first episode but stuck with it and has enjoyed it, its not really the type of thing he would normally like either. I think part of the problem with The West Wing is the production is old, it was probably really slick in its time but its amazing how things have moved on. All that walking around corridors talking does my nut in. But I will keep going as those are things you can get used to. Someone mentioned Black Mirror so started that. First 3 episodes have been good.
  19. 😁, I could describe Mr Tidy’s firework calamity as a few things but a show off da he isnt. You are right though, there is a fair possibility that things will go wrong when folk set off fireworks in their garden once a year.
  20. They played this clip on Have I Got News For You last night. Ian Hislop mentioned Thatcher tweeting from the grave. One of the panelists said ‘Do they have social media in ....... He clearly wanted to say ‘hell ‘ , but stopped himself. The presenter said ‘well, she could be in purgatory’. Someone else said ‘no, purgatory was when she was here’ . 😂 Its worth a watch, a fair bit was on the US election.
  21. I nearly had a heart attack when a load went off last night on my way home from work. I had forgotten it was Guy Fawkes night . The first thing I thought of was how frightened animals must be , and I dont even have a dog. I think banning them is too far though as most kids love them and the vast majority of people are responsible. Organised displays only may be the way forward as Phart says. Fireworks were banned in my house the year Mr Tidy set off 2 rockets under a tree. He clearly overestimated the strength of the fireworks and underestimated the strength of the tree. The rockets ricocheted off the branches, changed direction, and shot round the garden like a bullet. The kids and their pals had to run for their lives. I was watching from inside the house as one of the kids was frightened of fireworks. Despite the heat from the fireworks it was a chilly night in the Tidy household that night. 🔪👱🏻‍♂️🪓
  22. Will keep going with it then. Mandys potential demise may just be the carrot I need😊
  23. Started the West Wing but not sure about it. The first 3 episodes havent grabbed me, does it get better ? Dont know if I can tolerate that Mandy character for even 1 series , never mind 20 years of the show. @slasherjust remembered you were considering This Is Us, did you watch it and if so did you enjoy it ? I loved it, having withdrawal symptoms waiting for the next episodes.
