  1. With the news that our universities have performed very well there have been a few posts on my FB page to counter this "good news" trying to slate the snp on their record for collage places, could anyone shed some light on the snps record with collages, i keep hearing about all these place they have cut, one acquaintance was branding about 140,000 place which surley cant be right?
  2. Just finished the last series of prison break, has to be the best programme since dawsons creek
  3. are you discriminating because i am dyslexic, shame on you! Call the PC brigade,,, oh wait?
  4. Have to admit that the PC brigade are getting their ass handed too them on this thread for once far better arguements from the "biggots"
  5. It seemed to be sturgeon he had the problem with, he said had we been independent just now that she would have flooded the place. I explaining that the snp have no say in imigrtion matters at the moment to which he was fully aware.to be honest its a lose-lose regardless of her stance
  6. From my experience most people are very concerned about the influx of refugees, a close freind who has always been a snp man turned round and said the snp will not be recieving his vote this time round, i have heard other mutterings from other snp voting associates... This whole situation has the potential to stir up politics as we know it from local, scottish, national and the whole eu... Im affraid the tories will come out of this looking like a strong party willing to make tough decisions...
  7. Behave yersel min, im a SNP member,,, i would also like to think of my self as vey open to differnt views,,, i would be neither concervitve nor socialist,,, but there are policies on the left and right which appeal to me
  8. I never claimed it was driven by nationalism only stated a lot of voters would have voted yes who were nationists... I am also trying to point out the voters who were not that politically engaged but votes yes because "am scottish" it will be those types of voters who will be put off of nicola... It wont help the MSM paint a picture of the situation as they are bot that politically educated. We need a structure in place for the crisis... Thats all i will say on this matter as i will be lynched by the PC MOB
  9. Well maybe if you stepped out of the tamb bubble you appear to live in you may have a different take on this. Regardless of what anyone says a large amount of yes voters were driven by the idea of nationalism,,, she may well isolate these voters(many would welcome this) there is not the widespread approval of the refugees as some on here would paint
  10. From my face book page it appears many snp/yes supporters along with the usual unionists are getting pritty annoyed the stance of sturgeon,,,many on here know my stance on mass migration, this is of course is different, if i were in the refugees potion i would look for a safe sanctuary also but it does come across as if she is just trying to say the right thing whitout looking deeper into the subject .It also comes across as if she just goes against anything the tory government say ir do regardless if they are right or wrong... I would like to see how many memberships have been canceled in the past teo weeks. My guess is a lot
  11. I know in normal circumstances this would be the case, but this is not a normal refugee influx we are receiving, a five year visa type card should be given out with a review at the end of it,,, by that time the dust will have hopefully settled and a clearer picture of the situation and who has actually claimed refuge and then we could decide if it is merited..
  12. So if we accept tens of thousands of refugees, do they then return home when their home lands are safe?
  13. my friend from skye who may i add is a massive independence supporter just added this to the debate "The current idea for small communities is not to divide funding but to keep it together, rather than building a new school why not carry on the same way in a school that is still fit for purpose, in a way its like the non denomenational arguement with schools and catholic schools, but with languages, the kids are kids, friends not seeing friends during school time and as you say doric is dying out but the other scots languages and dialects get nowhere near the press that one language takes, do you hear about Norn getting the same up in shetland or Lowland scots, if one gets then all should gaelic medium in schools with English speaking kids should be the norm, not splitting communities which is happening on Skye just now" i dont know enough about the situation to comment
  14. Im not sure if the recent full moon has brought out the brit nats of late,,, i have had to engage in a few debates with them, one which was about the "26 million" spent on gealic road signs....so they are shouting from the toof top about preserving a part of ou culture but on the other hand are completely happy thowing money at the house of lords!! Doesnt add up
  15. Uk North sea as a whole needs 30 dollars a barrel to break even, norway requires it to be 20 dollars a barrel.... Its bad but not that bad
  16. Here goes the PC mob again,,, gives me the "vibe" of an elite TA member the wrong side of 60,,, who have no other concerns other than how much away point they have,,, i truely hope i am wrong but there you go,,, its my opinion to give
  17. there needs to be a points system and limit to the amount of migrants are allowed into the uk... It i simply nit sustainable,,,, it will IMO lead to massive unrest within the next 20 years
  18. I dont care what anyone say, just because the green party supported independence does not make them credible, many on here seem to have a huge hard on over them for that very reason
  19. Currently half way through this book, i have just read finish the book "dance called america"which was about the clearances...the poor had no lawyers is an aye opener,, i just wonder what will come of the land reform bill,,
  20. Yes that i can agree on but it should be implemented over say ten years or even a summer thing only, this will hit isolated cumminities hard, i just hope this is not rushed through... The worst thing the snp have done is get into bed with the greens during the referendum..
  21. I am as staunch a snp supporter as you get and to be honest this is causing me a bit of distress as i have in general agreed with most policies they have implemented.... Maybe the mpa's are the right thing to do in the long term, I think the consultation closes today, but creelers have been pushing for it for past ten years getting trawlers kicked out of areas(my father in law being one of them)open deck scallopers ie the majority of west coast ones are all going to be affected in winter time when a lot of the time they tuck right into shore lines, its bad news for a lot of boats, wont affect the 60ft and above classes that are fully sheltered but I would say that its going through and to hell with boys trying to earn a pound in the winter time, summer time should be alright but who knows what else will go through after the first lot, creel boats are pushing for 1-2 mile limits for trawlers again as well which again is bad news for the trawl sector,,,maybe have the mpas only in the summer months....
  22. no i was not there in person, if may be an open process but the snp are not listening to the majority on this one
