  1. Having just seen the trailer, I thought I'd start this thread early.
  2. Maybe if you'd seen the original comment then you would understand this post a bit better.
  3. Sometimes you think attitudes have moved on in the last 30 years or so and then you see a comment like that which makes you realise perhaps they haven't. I've no issue with people making sick jokes about celebrity deaths or tragedies but that isn't even funny. The only person who would find that amusing would be another sad twisted little bigot.
  4. I assume that's in a list that doesn't include If You Want Blood, You've Got It.
  5. As were the two guys that killed Lee Rigby and the Paris And Brussels attackers were born and/or raised in Belgium and France. In fact if you were to look at Islamist terrorist attacks in Europe over the last decade or so, I'd be surprised if 90% of the perpetrators weren't EU nationals. Still it's all the refugees to blame.
  6. Not to mention that his application for asylum was rejected and that the Schengen system worked with the Italian police identifying and apprehending him in Milan. Any failings here are in difficulties in deporting him back to Tunisia and also in the German police for "losing" him earlier in the year.
  7. Indeed, another inconvenient truth that gets overlooked. TBH, I'm surprised that they - the Ruth Davidson Party - haven't put pressure on the UK government to sort this out as it just gives the SG an out whenever they complain about Police Scotland.
  8. It's due to the vagaries of the VAT regulations, effectively "public" bodies which are funded through local government are VAT exempt whereas those which are funded via Central Government are not. So when the SG combined all the regional police forces into one single force it then started to attract VAT as it was now centrally funded. To be fair, this was known at the time but the SG pushed on presumably on the basis that the cost savings they would make from combining the forces would outweigh the additional cost and/or they probably thought that it would be something they could sort out later. However, both the PSNI and National Crime Agency, both of which are centrally funded by Stormont and Westminster respectively have exemptions and legislation has been amended on other occasions to grant exemptions such as Academy schools in England. It seems counter-intuitive that any public funded body should pay VAT as it really is giving with one hand and taking away with the other. Pretty sure that the SNP tried to put this in as an amendment to the ScotlNd Bill 2016 but the Westminster government refuses to even look at Police Scotland - and Fire and Rescue - their argument seems to be a combination of "we told you so", "nah, nah, nah, we're not listening" and SNPBad, and of course Labour are doing nothing either. There is really no justifiable reason for this anomalous situation to exist.
  9. I went to a function at the Scotland Office in 1998 and got royally pissed on fine wines and champagne. Well it was the height of New Labour and champagne socialism.
  10. Why would a glory hunter support Arsenal?
  11. The major problem in London is getting another suitable site to build on. Arsenal got reasonably lucky with the Ashburton grove site being so close to Highbury. After looking for suitable alternatives, Chelsea are planning to redevelop Stamford Bridge. On the other hand, if you're West Ham, you could get your Tory peer CEO to do a deal with the Tory government and her mate the Tory Mayor of London and get a new stadium for next to nothing courtesy of the taxpayer.
  12. JD Sports don't know their Archibald from their elbow. Earlier in the year I wanted to get the fantastic pink away top before the Italy game. As I live outwith Scotland, very few stores stock Scotland merchandise so I did as advised and ordered it online to be delivered to my closest store with the expectation then that you would then get the refund applied when you picked it up. Went into the store to pick it up and TBH the manager was spot on. He knew about the discount but reckoned he'd had some notification that the way he had to process it had changed. I was amazed he'd even heard about it, so that was a major plus as I thought I'd have to explain it to them. He tried to find the email but couldn't find it so phoned up his head office, turned out they'd changed the system so he couldn't refund me there and then but what I had to do was to email the customer services, quoting the order number and they would then refund the card. I was standing next to him when he made the call so I know what he was told. Got home, emailed JD Sports, explained the situation. They then replied saying that the discount was only available to inshore purchases and not online. I replied saying that was bollocks and explained the situation, told them I wasn't having it and wanted it escalated. When I got back after the trip I got an email saying they'd be refunding me. Completely clueless.
  13. Here's his first from Saturday as well, this wasn't that shabby either.
  14. I don't think Hendry was particularly overlooked at that time, the players you mentioned were all better and playing at a higher level than Hendry at that point. I think that 1992/93 was Blackburn's first season in the top division. There wasn't the same gap between the Scottish and English top divisions at that time as there is now. This was the season that Rangers effectively got to the Champions League semi finals. Celtic, Aberdeen, Hearts and Dundee United all had strong teams. Additionally, had Alan McLaren and Craig Levein not had their careers cut short by injury it's likely that Hendry wouldnt have had anywhere near as many caps.
  15. Very much an "experimental" team. The only real regular starters in that team at the time would have been John Collins and Tom Boyd. Levein and McLaren featured quite a bit but at least one of them would have been second choice behind Gough and McPherson in a back three - Boyd was playing as wing back in those days. Alongside the Rangers players missing as wanderer explained, McStay is also missing from Celtic as is McAllister. Interesting though that the line up for the next game, which was the shit or bust away game in Lisbon four weeks later and was our strongest available line up had 10 home based players with only Kevin Gallagher playing in England.
  16. That comes under "disrespect" rather than political statement in FIFA regulations.
  17. This pair have been at it for the last couple of years, required viewing following any Arsenal capitulation. The old boy Claudio generally makes a lot of good points about Wenger.
  18. The problem with using either Google or iOS maps is that they download the map data in real time so you can have issues with data charges - and it can be quite a large amount of data - so it depends on your mobile contract. With a sat nav app, you install all the map data upfront and it just uses the GPS to work out where you are so there's no data charge.
  19. You can get a holder that has a suction cup you can attach to the windscreen and a USB power adapter for the cigarette lighter for a few quid. You can also get a free sat nav app called Navmi. It's a pretty hefty download so you probably want to install it before you go and delete when you come back. Thats what I use.
  20. I've seen it in slow motion and as ball drops, he controls it on his calf and then flicks it over his head with his heel.
  21. Been the case for some time now, we've been fined for booing GSTQ when we played N. Ireland and also for booing the Leichtenstein anthem as well.
