Think it's likely he's gonna go one way or the other. Seems to be a clamour for a foreign manager this time which on the face of it I'm ok with. My concern however is the potential for the complete dilution of our team via team selections. My fear is that with no real connection to our country that every avenue will be exploited and we'll end up with a team of matt Elliot's taking the field. Could be a million miles off, just putting it out there!!!

Andy. You are by far the most balanced and sensible poster on here, but your letting yourself down with your incessant campaign against Darren fletcher. Overall I think he was our best player over those 2 games but that of course is open to debate, but most people have acknowledged he at least did ok. You were pretty vocal before these games about what you thought of him and it comes across like a witch hunt on your part.

It's a managerial career they are trying to build though. Scotland is and always will be a stepping stone to a big club job. It's funny how we don't have any qualms asking Michael O'Neill to forego the exact qualities we expect of our new manager!

Indeed. But those guys have established careers, Burke hasn't done anything to merit inclusion as yet other being bigger and faster than anything else we have. I'm sure he will in time though.

Agreed. I think this is a reality check. Lots of people want him in the starting team never mind the squad. That's pretty much a year and a half his career has stood still, not entirely unlike Gauld. He now needs to establish himself at club level I think before he's considered for the squad.

My biggest fear with Italy or any of the footballing heavyweights is the officials. I do think decisions would be less likely to go our way against these teams. Maybe better off against a team of similar stature to ourselves who FIFA have no preference to who qualifies.

Loads of people saying how bad it was, got to say I disagree. I thought we played some decent stuff against a team there for a nil nil, I was on the edge of my seat (and off it!) throughout, particularly 2nd half. They played highlights after the game and when you see all the chances together we really did get after them. Not saying we're Spain or anywhere near that, but comparing that to watching Ireland under O'Neill is wide of the mark by a long way. We were in control of that game, and 4 of the previous 5 for that matter for probably 3/4 of the match. We need to be realistic on what we're can expect to see, but fundamentally I think we're trying to play a passing, dominating game. We've all got players we do and don't want to play, but that doesn't mean we're right and strachan is wrong, in fact it would appear the opposite is true lately.

Jesus man. Last minute winner in must win game- soul destroying? Let go of your hate for strachan and let yourself enjoy what's a fantastic result, and a well deserved one at that.

We've now beat Slovenia, Slovakia, Malta, Lithuania and took a point off England in last 5 games. As quick as I was to criticise strachan in the last campaign and the start of this one, I think he has to be given some credit now.,
