I’ve just gone right through his entire Twitter feed. Unless it’s been deleted, there’s nothing anti-Scottish there. He is pro-England but as someone who has played right through to u21s that is not surprising. I personally don’t understand how that could happen when his dad played for Scotland, although there are Union Jacks on a wall in which Gunn Senior was sitting.
I think if he’s humble enough and says he felt he owed England for supporting him at youth level, then okay, we can use him until someone better comes along.
Hopefully it won’t be long before Rory Wilson becomes a striking option.
I do like Nisbet and it’s not fair to judge him a few games after a long term injury. His form at the end of January is when to judge, but for me he’s a natural finisher and will play best with better players around him.
Not picking a 6ft 6in centre half with excellent technique is criminal. For me there was a question mark over pace but by all accounts that is not a problem. I’ve yet to watch any of the WC.
The three mentioned had fathers who played for Scotland and two of them were captains. It is far more infuriating, and, in my view, is a serious disrespect to the fathers.
I’m not too depressed despite two defeats from Iceland, two days in a row.
Doak looks like he’ll be a Liverpool first team player. He already is but every week I mean.
I think “give it to Doak” will become a thing at international level.
Lowry is a concern. Great talent but needs discipline (and tbf a bit of fitness).
Morrison I think slightly rusty but cruised it in the second half.
The likes of McCarthy and McGeady IIRC said that Ireland made them feel wanted and Scotland didn’t.
I think he should be in the full squad. He’s getting minutes for Newcastle and that’s a high bar nowadays.
He is just back after 2 months injured, was on the bench against Napoli also. No brainer for me, it’s a B game and he has first team experience in league, cup and CL and has all the hallmarks of a generational talent.
