  1. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/5049026/rangers-kai-kennedy-bayern-munich-manchester-city/amp/ Give me Brandon Barker anyday 😅😅
  2. 3 offside players not enough for you😅😅😅
  3. I said shaping into. You are judging them based on their entire career, whereas our current generation are 23-26 McTominay is a similar level to D.Fletcher at the same age. McGinn is around the same age as Lambert when he signed for Motherwell. Fergie started off brilliantly but injuries stunted his progress and he reshaped his game due to the injuries. Aaron Ramsey is a better player and if you played one cm, then fair enough, but he is surrounded by championship/league 1 players and young guys who aren't first choice at their club. I'd rather McGinn, Mctominay and McGregor over Ramsey and 2 championship players.
  4. Lb 😅😅 I'd say CM is starting to shape into that, I'd say we have the best CM out of the home nations (minus England)
  5. I do feel this is a problem, that needs to be addressed. The only thing I'd say in our defence is currently at the club (not out on loan) outside of Barjonas and Mayo nearly all of our young players are just 18 or younger. That being said the likes of Kennedy, Patterson, Mebude, etc should all have been in match day 18s this season, yet no youth player have since McPake against st. Josephs. The major problem is squad bloat, we've signed players to replace our back ups but not having been able to move them on. This results in guys needing minutes or reserve games for fitness. Hopefully with a better DOF we can move on a lot of players. I'd personally punt Haliday, Polster, Edmundson (on loan, no point in 4 CBs when 3 are fighting for the same position), King (cancel his loan), Docherty (I think he'll come good but Gerrard clearly doesn't fancy him), Barker (pointless, pointless signing, thanks Allen), Murphy (out on loan to hopefully get back fit). That's nearly 35/40k in wages Foderingham, Flannigan and Haliday are all out of contact at the end of the season and probably off.
  6. U16s won the u16 development league yesterday and are thought to be our best age group. When you also consider the current u18s are unbeaten in the u18 league and the previous generation of u18s are now in the semi's of the wafer cup and the knockouts of the uefa youth League, it is looking very promising for Rangers and Scotland. I really hope Rangers and St. Mirrens colt performances this year, can lead to colt teams being admitted to the League system in the next couple of years.
  7. He has to be at the very least be in the squad. Said it pre injury as well, he was ripping my club a part at times (rangers). Definitely 1 of 4 youngsters I'd have in every 23/25 man squad. Other 3 are Gilmour, Porteous and Turnbull (when fit)
  8. Need Neil McCann upfront alone crossing to no one, as they are all 30 yards back, f£#k me that was a bleak time.
  9. I think he might still have been in the rangers academy at that point. We had him until he was 12/13 and would probably explain why he is one of the only Celtic PS players.
  10. Tbf he came on and did well against Rennes. While it was a weak Rennes side (8 changes), those players were still of a decent quality.
  11. Not if you were a Rangers fan. I've never been so happy to be turned down by someone. When you think back to the midfield Aberdeen had 3 years ago, they should've done a lot better than they did.
  12. Truthfully the only player I'd asks if they'd be available for the playoffs is Allan McGregor. Fletcher is slightly better than what we have but Naismith has formed a nice partnership with McGinn and Christie and his style suits them. If Naismith gets another injury then we may need Fletcher but everyone fit then I'm on the fence. Brown is still a quality player and has a will to win but I'd say him being the squad, doesn't make much of a quality difference with everyone fit. A few injuries and I'd probably be giving him a call though. McGregor is the only one that is a massive, massive jump in quality to what we have. Would be shite on Marshall but considering this is our best chance at qualifying for atleast 3/4 years, we probably need to put sentiment and loyalty aside for a better player. Let's be honest here while we missed chances in the nation's league game, it was a couple world class saves (that Marshall isn't really capable of) that got us over the line. With how poor defence is, I genuinely worry what happens when they likes of Haaland, Odengaard and King come up against our defence. They will have chances due to their attacking quality. From what I've seen of Marshall recently he is an average mid table championship keeper. He isn't going to produce game saving saves, McGregor can.
  13. And the guy people want as captain McGinn, Strachan got absolute pelters for that. I think when people see people talking about ditching players and bringing through youth/u21 players, they think you are talking about first team guys. No it is about ditching average back ups, who are in their late 20s, Who offer nothing more than turning up. Then bringing guys like Johnston, Gilmour, Porteous, Turnbull into the main squad years before they normally would. This allows them to train with and develop an understanding with first team players earlier and doesn't mean they are coming in at 24/25 not knowing anyone and not having a understanding of how Scotland and these players play.
  14. Regardless of where it is being held, unless we get the kindest draw possible we really should be using that time period (even then we still should), to bring through the best of our next generation and stop calling up decent/average back ups in their late 20s, who are just there to make up the numbers. Guys like Gilmour, Johnston (when he is back fully fit), Porteous (I know he got a call up but that felt more due to injury, than a long term plan for him), Turnbull (hopefully he gets back to his pre injury levels, once he is able to play) and hopefully in the next year or 2 a lot of the promising U19s can make inroads to their clubs first teams.
  15. Celtic have done fantastically well in Europe this season, but I wouldn't use tonight as the example it was basically the Rennes reserve team with that cunt of a keeper Mendy in goals (glad he messed up for Celtics second), still a fantastic result but beating a full strength Lazio side home and away is much better example of how well Celtic have done this year, I'd say drawing away to full strength Rennes (& being unlucky not to get more) was better aswell. While we have done well (and better than I thought we would, losing just once due to Tav mistakes), Celtics Results have been truly phenomenal and looking at their group beforehand, I thought (& most of my Celtic mates) it would've been very tight with Lazio probably running away with the group. Fair play In saying that, I thought Morgan did very well as a makeshift striker, however barring injury to Eduaord I doubt he will get much of a chance to grow into the role. I know they have nothing to play for in match day 5 but I hope they want to remain unbeaten in the group stages and go for atleast a draw in Cluj. A draw for Celtic and Rangers would see us both through and keep us 15th above Cyprus regardless of APOEL's result. I'm just hoping both can continue these positive results can continue for aslong as possible, because I am sick of playing qualifiers from the start of July. While a lot of people don't think this is positive for the other Scottish clubs, it actually is. Instead of starting at the beginning of European competitions and having to play 8 games for a crack at the Europa League. They will now have 2 less rounds to play and even if they fail, they then drop into either the playoff of the conference league or group stages of the conference league. While I doubt the conference league will be financially amazing, it should still get you quite a few million through prize money and ticket money.
  16. 1 could be King he is 15. There are a few at 15/16 who look promising but below that I couldn't tell you much. At u18 level rangers are very, very strong (currently unbeaten in everything) and like the first team have probably too big a squad, and it is stopping a few of the u16s getting a chance. The problem at u16-18 level is, we are bringing through far more talented players at 16, than we did before due to revamping our youth set up years ago and less are getting released at 16 due to being higher quality, them you add in picking up talented 16 year olds like Young-coombes and Charlie Lindsay (lad who played for glentoran at 15) and it is creating a bloat that stops promising 15/16 year olds getting the occasional chance at a stronger level. I have to say though one of the biggest pluses for Rangers (& every other club in Scotland) at youth level has been the performance schools, you can see the actual difference in levels of technique these boys have compared to most of their peers at the same age. The idiots wanting them closed because they haven't shown any fruit yet infuriate the life out of me, the proper first class are just about to turn 19 and we have a graduate who is in and around the Chelsea squad and has world class levels of potential. I mean what on earth are they expecting, us to turn into Netherlands over night. **for the lads not at the ps we partnered with a school to give them similar extra football and coaching. I believe Celtic have been doing this for like 10 years (maybe longer). On Celtic, are Celtic youths in the performance schools or is it just their school they go to? Can't really remember seeing ps next to any Celtic players.
  17. "Say you won't sell" is basically we don't want to sell but if you offer over the odds we will think about it and hope to get even more out of you. His fee is probably 20-25 million but setting up that you won't sell and maybe having European football after Christmas and hopefully still close to Celtic means you have to go over the odds to get him. if 30 mil somehow comes in (in Jan), he is off, anyone who thinks he'd remain at rangers, for that price and the league title means more is an idiot, and needs a reality check. The same goes for when you are buying his replacement though.
  18. With our draw and Celtics win we are now fifteenth in the coefficient. APOEL are 2 up and this win will put them through so we need to keep an eye on them as they are just .125 behind us in 16th Slavia Praha are out and we are 1.175 behind Czech Republic in 13th. They are away to Dortmund in their final game, so that should be the end of their points. Kobenhavn are winning away to Lugano, that probably sees them through and Denmark will be 1.125 ahead if results stay the same in 14th. Greece and Serbia have one game shootout in the last match day for who goes into the knockout stages of the Europa League. Partizan are out for Serbia. Serbia are 1.125 behind us and Greece are .825 behind us, Greece are closer but they have a 5 team season so wins are .400 and draws are .200 instead
  19. 40/50 million is hyperbole pish, in the hope somebody will over bid at 30/35 mil but anyone trying to deny that he isn't worth atleast the same as Eduaord or what Dembele went for needs aff the glue. The man is currently the joint top scorer in the Europa League group stages and has 24 goals this season in 20 starts and 8 sub appearances. The actual levels he has gone up this season is phenomenal. Morelos and Eduaord will end up at good clubs, for great money if they keep it up until the summer.
  20. At CB when fit they have Ajer and Nordtveit at Hoffenheim (ex arsenal very good centre half), the RB from olympiacos is their Captain (his contract is up this season and he will end up a good team) and I think their left back is Merling from Rosenberg (not sure though), their Goalkeeper while 35/36 was one of the top keepers in the bundesliga last year. Outside of LB they blow us out of the water in first team defence/goalkeeper, a few injuries though and the quality will noticeably drop.
  21. For Scotland Christie really suits being on the right, I don't feel he'd be as effective on the left and would be wasted cutting in on his right or going wide on his left. Fraser can play either quite effectively, whereas with Forrest you can see he isn't quite as effective on the left. So for me drop Forrest.
  22. Well then scratch him aff the list. I don't blame him though, more of a chance of an England cap at lb than Scotland 😅😅
  23. You forgot about Stephen Kingsley and Joe Bryan, who also play at decent levels as lb's. Anyone know what the script is with Joe Bryan? He was in an under 21 squad years ago but had to pull out with injury and hasn't been talked about in years. In my FM games last year he was always in Scotland squads, thought he was just a random eligible that the game calls up due to a better starting CA than others, but that way when you see things in FM you check them out irl and had no idea he had been in a Scotland squad u21, you'd think with him being a starting player in the premier league last year it would've been mentioned.
  24. Potentially Hickey could be a better player but for right now Taylor is a more developed player. One is 17, the other has just turned 22 with over 100 hundred league appearances to his name. It's only natural he would look a more accomplished player at this stage. I feel Hickey looks a lot better than Taylor did at 17/18 and if he continues with his current development and starts to physically develop a bit more in the next or 2, he could be a far better player than Taylor. I mean in Lennon's eye, an out of position Johnny Hayes blows both of them out of the water. I'm still baffled by this, I thought with Boli injured he would get his chance. I mean he's been giving that Frimpong a chance over Bauer at RB, so you have to wonder why isn't Taylor getting the same chance on the left.
