  1. Another thing that the last three years, and more particularly the last month, have proved is that Scottish football does not need the OF or their direct meetings. Despite what Radio Scotland and the printed media would have you believe, Scotland is a better place without that fixture. In my lifetime the last three years have been the best since 1980-87 for competitiveness and honours being shared in Scottish football. Kilmarnock, Hearts, Aberdeen, St Mirren and St. Johnstone would agree too.
  2. Simple Life from 'The One' is the mutts nuts. Plenty of individual songs that I like, but less so for for stand alone albums. Have a soft spot for Too Low For Zero' and his aborted 1979 Philly Soul album which gave 'Are You Ready For Love', though.
  3. Well, they were spot on with first one. Did they ask for your Facebook page?
  4. Call me when you arrive in hell. I've been here for seven years, and it ain't so bad. The beer's cheap and the broadband is first class.
  5. Ahem.........never ever ever ever bet for or against your own team. Scotland and the Jags are off limits for a time tested and well proven reason.
  6. Spaghetti with fresh prawns in garlic, olive oil and black pepper.
  7. The Best of Family had a football themed cover, but is not the answer to the OP's question.
  8. Sepp Blatter must be his mentor, then. Frankly these OF pandering decisions calls into question whether clubfootball in this country is worthy of being followed anymore.
  9. See the website has now been suspended. http://scottishstatesman.com/
  10. On what basis? You would still need the same number of schools (however they were branded) and teachers for the same number of pupils, no?
  11. That was Channel 4 competing with Sky. It was such a novelty at the time - the first three games were 3-3, 2-2 and 5-3. Jean Marie Papin scoring for AC Milan in the last of those. Great times.
  12. Whew - was checking my list for this year's dead pool when I saw the topic.
  13. Possibly the difference is that Jeff Beck never really went mainstream, which is in contrast to all of the other guitarists mentioned in this thread (Rory Gallagher excepted). His 'Blow by Blow' album from 1975 is a belter though. 'Cause we've ended as lovers' is an instrumental to die for.
  14. Celtic sre good enough to beat the current Inter team. What shocked me tonight was that Celtic lost three goals to them given their defensive efficiency so far this year.
  15. Was Kovacic injured or suspended? Agree that Shaqiri is an Albanian making his living under a Swiss passport and a very good player. Celtic should have self belef in this tie - Inter are junk.
  16. Well, I got the bit that Inter are howling correct. But Craig Gordon chooses tonight of all nights to......... Great game to watch though. Celtic can win this tie.
  17. They haven't, trust me. Don't be fooled by the last two results. They lost the previous two to very mediocre Sassuolo and Torino sides. Starve Icardi of service, and keep Kovacic quiet in midfield (Broonie's job) and you'll be halfway there.
  18. Inter have been absolutely howling this season, so this is a real chance for Celtic. 2-0 Celtic tomorrow night.
  19. Of course they are - Sky et al would never get another interview out of them otherwise if they called them for what they really are. Foreigners are disposable, because 90% of them hang around for 2 years max, but the blessed Terry, Gerrard and Rooney are sacrosanct, now and forever, Amen.
  20. Have been looking for this CD for years. Finally found it - and what a gem it is!! RIP Gerry
