  1. Know nothing of Snejider, but his first interview when signing for United in The Courier was hilarious. Billy Bigbaws x100.
  2. We really should be looking to win this match. I can see why the staff are saying a win is not vital, but with Poland and Ireland winning here - we really need to keep up. Although I don't see it as a lose/draw and we're out. We've still got Poland to come to Hampden, plus Ireland go to Poland - those games plus if all three of us can get anything from Germany will be the key in the end. We could draw in Georgia, beat Poland and Pol-Ire end up a draw in Warsaw, and still put us through. Saying all that, I hope we go for the win. We should be looking at second spot. A win keeps us on form, matches our Polish and Irish opponents, and the good will factor about it. It is a tough game, but so was Israel for Wales (and they won 3-0). I don't buy the over cautious, 'tough place to go' nonsense. The Faroe Islanders are proving to be a tough place to go, but if we want to qualify directly for finals - then we need to match our opponents, and win in these places. Reasonably happy with the squad. Certainly settled and a few should be in's/out's. One interesting exclusion though is Matt Phillips? I take it WGS doesn't rate him much? He seems to have been in form for a good few months, and is never called up even after injuries.
  3. Thinking the draw looks a very good betting option tonight. Celtic hang on near the end and get through.
  4. Or an album you can always listen to? I have too many to pick one, but just listening to Radiator by the Super Furry Animals from 1997 - and probably biased, but not aged a jot, and still as poppy/experimental/indie as ever, and just magic.
  5. Christophe Berra giggling like a wee lassie when McGregor and Ferguson were giving the camera the vicky Vs.
  6. Haha, I mind that. She was about 23 at the time. Wonder if they are still thegether?
  7. I think Falkirk is critical point. Anyone north of there is a teuchter to most west coasters. Whilst anyone south of that for us east and northern folk are all Weegies.
  8. Subjection of Scotland. Ironic how it was deemed too sensitive to do this in Northern Ireland (who have never had a 'proper' referendum) yet 45% of us voted to leave this flag, and we have to have this on our driving license. I'm not offended, but more double standards from the British state.
  9. 30. Half of these are just weegie 'suburbs'. if Larkhall, Hamilton, Cumbernauld, East Kilbride all there, then whaars Montrose, Stonehaven, Pitlochrie, and Lochee?
  10. Spot on. I think waiting til Independence is 60%+ is a disaster of an idea disaster before going again. I'm not wishing a referendum now, next year or 2018, but predicting politics is a difficult case. I also don't believe we'll ever see opinion polls showing consistent 60% support for independence for a long time, possibly 10 or more years, and by then the horse may have bolted. The SNP are only popular because the other parties are so poor. If the Labour party were anything but the shambles they are at present, things would be very much different. I wasn't around in 1974, but the SNP on 30%, I bet many back then thought independence was inevitable. Agree that having an Indyref2 and losing so soon would be stupid, but there has to be a balance, and I hope the SNP HQ aren't as naive to think about 10-15 years plans for the next one. We also have to look at the issues of why we lost in detail. For the next years get on with doing a hopefully decent job of governing, whilst bit by bit pushing the Indy cause.
  11. I don't know anything about him baring a few articles I've read. Any reason for him being lined up with Sheridan? (and Scotland) ?
  12. A very enjoyable match. As a big sook and having pals from both sides, I do quite like seeing both sides do well and when this game comes around. Fast flying and the goals very well taken.
  13. If going by the comments on stuff.co.nz which probably isn't wise (for current opinion) then it seems many don't like the new designs nor want a new flag. I like the red/blue one with the fern, swirl, and stars. A more modern version of their current flag - keeping the red and blue for the ones who like the old flag/commonwealth, the swirl from the inclusion of the Maori people, and the fern.
  14. An interesting article from Robin McKelvie. I don't think anyone is demanding a second referendum, but to not even discuss Indyref or a future one is a very strange decision. Especially considering the bulk of the SNP membership is on the back of the result on the 19th of September. Wonder how many will renew their membership in Sept/Oct? Suppose we'll see in the next few weeks. I'd like to think there will be a home rule referendum in the manifesto for 2016, or ''the SNP may call a referendum if X,Y,Z'' option. https://www.commonspace.scot/articles/2100/robin-mcalpine-there-s-a-lot-to-worry-about-in-the-snp-s-party-conference-agenda-here-s-why
  15. Incredibly harsh considering Scotland are one of the few 'countries' to vote against their own independence.
  16. Labour deid in their heartlands? All four Glasgow by-elections go to the SNP plus Hamilton South. 5/5. Calton by-election, Glasgow (6th August) : SNP 55.5% (+25.5%) Labour 30.0% (-24.6) Conservatives 4.7% (+2.1) UKIP 3.8% (n/a) Greens 3.6% (+0.6) Independent - Ramsay 1.7% (n/a) Liberal Democrats 0.7% (-0.2) Anderston/City by-election, Glasgow (6th August) : SNP 48.1% (+18.5) Labour 28.6% (-21.7) Greens 13.8% (+3.3) Conservatives 5.5% (+0.8) Liberal Democrats 2.2% (+0.5) UKIP 1.4% (n/a) Libertarian 0.4% (n/a) Langside by-election, Glasgow (6th August) : SNP 49.9% (+22.3) Labour 21.8% (-14.0) Greens 13.5% (+5.0) Conservatives 8.9% (+1.5) Liberal Democrats 2.9% (-4.4) UKIP 1.5% (n/a) TUSC 1.4% (-1.0) Craigton by-election, Glasgow (6th August) : SNP 54.2% (+22.8) Labour 33.3% (-20.1) Conservatives 6.1% (+2.5) Greens 2.8% (+0.7) UKIP 1.9% (+0.9) Liberal Democrats 1.8% (+0.9)
  17. West of Scotland FC? http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/news/13573605.Three_West_of_Scotland_football_fans_jailed_after_Edinburgh_disturbance/
  18. What are the rules for having an olympic team? As many non-independent states have them. Imagine funding would be the biggest issue for the Scottish government. And if the 'big' athletes would rather play for GB, then who cares. Lynsey Sharp said she would continue to represent GB if it was a yes vote.
  19. Is it only on Aberdeen TV? Hopefully find a link, but hope Aberdeen get through. Thoroughly enjoyed watching them in Europe so far. Aye, a big sook and all, but good luck lads and lassies.
  20. I have no problem with a Team GB. I don't back it, nor do I want to see it, but we can't really complain after September. Sorry, but no voters effectively voted to say Scotland should not be a nation. I find the proud Scots stance against a team GB hypocritical. Cake and eating it. Seriously, what other nations represent themselves for certain sports, yet don't for other things? It's only us, Wales, England NI isn't it? Saying that we should be pushing for sporting independence. Puerto Rico, Taiwan have their own 'independent' sporting teams. What are the rules of competing? Is it to do with having an independent TV network? I think regards Eurovision, I contacted an SNP MEP a few years back (before their majority)and the problem with Scotland sending an entry to that was if I recall right there's no state broadcaster as such. Maybe someone knows more.
  21. Fully expect a Scotland 2015 expose on this tomorrow. Shame on Police Scotland for not taking this further with Willo.
