  1. That was lovely from Poulsen, his celebration.
  2. Well done Austria, they really wanted that and deserved it 100%
  3. This game has 1-1 written all over it. Austria should have scored at least three of those chances.
  4. I'd keep the same shape/team. Leave McTominay in defence. I wonder if he'll find a way for Christie - not sure at all I want him starting.
  5. McGinn and Robertson playing table tennis with him. What a disaster!
  6. I was listening to Steven Reid on Sportsound on Saturday and he said the boys had a day off after the England game, and most of them had a game of golf organised. Wonder if Billy did something else? It's a huge blow, no doubt about it, but we can still push on from this.
  7. I agree that 6 is ludicrous, but I would be OK with 5 - if it came down to that. Much rather that than UEFA/FIFA ranking.
  8. I THINK this is right.. So we need two of these : Russia or Finland to lose - let's hope Belgium's no doubt B team have enough to see about the Finns. Austria or Ukraine to win - this game can't be a draw. Poland to not beat Sweden - could be done. Sweden are pretty sturdy, and whilst Poland were poor in the first game, they were much better last night. France to beat Portugal.
  9. Turkey are giving it a go, but they look really vulnerable at the back when caught. Thankfully Seferovic has had a mare all tournament (apart fae that goal he scored) but he and Shaq should have two goals each. Turkey are unlucky in that Sommer is having a stormer, but they look a lot worse up front. HT team talk. Do the Turks get each other rallied up and go for it ; or does it come to the 55th minute and Swiss make it three and then they collapse? Who knows. Also, with Wales losing too, if Italy could put a few more past them then we could well see Wales in third.
  10. Turkey still look up for this, especially the big lad upfront.
  11. Balls. The Turks started well too!
  12. Turkey will go for it. There is a realistic possibility that our game with Croatia ends up a draw, and we'll both be out and make us one of the poorer groups. Say Belgium put 4 past Finland and Turkey win 2-0 (in a 'home' Baku game) against Switzerland, they could sneak the last 3rd best place. Poland could also draw with Sweden in their last game, and go out as well on 2 points. Every team will go for it in their final game, even Macedonia (who have been brilliant, IMO) whilst out, they'll want to get their first ever point(s) at a major final.
  13. Aye, good point there. Second or third it might well be. Still a lot of stuff to do, but quietly optimistic about Tuesday.
  14. We've given ourselves a chance and that's all we could have asked for, especially after a horrendous start. Only major concern is lack of finishing prowess, but all it'll take is the defence to be as solid as they were and one goal. No doubt about it, it'll be a difficult game. Croatia whilst on a bit of slump right now and an aging side - Modric 35 , Vida 32, Perisic 32, Lovren 32 etc, are still brilliant players. BUT we should celebrate, we did a very 'un-Scottish' thing last night by playing brilliant and not losing out to a silly goal or so. A cup final for both us and the Croats on Tuesday. I'd certainly have taken that if we had a choice pre-tournament. I've read this thread, but tried to avoid it as well as felt it was tempting fate, but it's interesting to read all the takes. And how nice is it, that it is realistically in our hands - it'll take a momentous effort for us not to go through if we gain four points. And IF we get through in either first, second or third - bring on whoever we face next round. Preferably Sweden TBH if I could choose, look pretty dire and dull and fairly old as well.
  15. What a performance. Magnificent stuff and delighted for him after all the scapegoating on Monday. Bigman did well and happy to have his our RB
  16. Fair dues starting Gilmour. Lets give it a go.
  17. I watched a lot of Arbroath streams last year and the season before ; Williamson was a huge player for the Lichties, and a massive part in helping them stay up. He's a class act of a player, and I really hope it works out at Livi for him, he's more than good enough to be getting a a regular game, IMO.
  18. Wales had a Luton player in their XI last night.
  19. Fair fucking dues to them. They were outstanding there, and constantly prove themselves on the big occasion. Well done.
  20. How is this even up for debate. The fault lies at Marshall. Look how far forward he is. Yes, Hendry was a bit ball greedy and he had better options, but let's mind - he scored from a similar distance against Holland and hit the bar yesterday. He's more than entitled to have a crack from there. IF being kind, you could say the blame is 5% Hendry, 95% Marshall's fault.
  21. It was a brilliant goal. Feel for Marshall, but FFS, keepers should not be getting caught out like that.
  22. I've no doubt we'll give everything on Friday. Yet to read any match reports and still let it sink in, but they'll be in bullish mood for the game. Main worry is that we do the VERY Scottish thing of playing extremely well and all the Anglo media will be giving it the ''canny, proud Jocks,'' etc but taking 0 pts from this game. The key to us doing anything really is taking a point from this match which will be very hard, but you never know!
  23. I've backed him, and still do, but he's too cautious. Subs taken age. That team felt very wrong today. No doubt losing Tierney was a huge loss. Clarke like all bosses sticks too long with his favourites too.
  24. Get over yourself. He's scored from there-ish last week, he hit the bar today, can see why he fancied another shot. No one expected the boy to score from there.
