  1. The YPOTY was chosen by McInnes himself, so think the selection of Christie is part of an attempt to woo him to Pittodrie on a permanent basis.
  2. Hayes was the best Aberdeen player for the first six months of the season, but his form has dropped slightly recently. McLean has been in great form since the turn of the year after being largely anonymous in the two years prior to that. Shinnie has been consistently excellent the whole season and got my vote for POTY. Honourable mentions to Considine, Lewis and Logan.
  3. it was one hell of a cut that stopped that fight - with Vitali being well ahead on points - so I'd stick with him over Lewis. There's a reason why Lewis backed out of a rematch. For a heavyweight to have never been put on the canvas is quite incredible and he didn't have a bad KO record either...
  4. Enjoyed the fight and Joshua can go on to become a great heavyweight, although Wladimir of five years ago would have stopped him. IMO Vitali is the best heavyweight of the last 40 years.

It must be frustrating for Andy. Accepts a wildcard for Barcelona to gain some match time then Tomic pulls out injured yesterday and the rain delay today. It is Ramos-Vinolas tomorrow - in the form of his life - so a tough test and an opportunity to make amends for last week.
  6. The Tory resurgence is real, I am in no doubt about that, yet there seems to be many on here and elsewhere in denial. Those figures would give the Tories 14 or so seats including some big scalps (Angus Robertson for one). I said earlier in the week that 45 or more seats for the SNP would be a great result and I stand by that.

Not such a problem ranking points wise after Djokovic losing in the QF. Nadal looking as good as ever on clay and strolls into the final - easy week for him and already favourite for a tenth RG. Andy entered as a wildcard in the Barcelona 500 next week so at least the elbow must be ok!

It's a bad loss and obvious that his serve is nowhere near good enough at the moment. Word of him entering the 250 in Hungary next week - elbow permitting - to get additional match time.

Anything's possible, but the guy's almost 36, think I'll give him the benefit of the doubt that his old body needs some rest. Besides, not sure drugs would help him improve the accuracy of his backhand which has probably been the difference in his recent wins against Nadal.

Djokovic certainly appeared rusty today after a similar lay off and dug deep to get through. Murray will likely have to do the same. Both are defending a huge number of points during the clay court season, so no room for slip ups. Understandsble that Federer had decided to sit out the next six weeks or so after his unbelievable start to the season - he knows he'll have great chance on grass.
  11. Absolutely. There is a real danger that the SNP could be lose the third biggest party tag and the associated privileges.
  12. Also 58% No voters in 2014. What we can take for granted is that the Tory vote will increase significantly. Lets hope the SNP vote stands firm.
  13. There certainly has been some change! Will be interesting to see what commitments the SNP have in their manifesto re. indyref2 - they need to get this spot on!
  14. I'd settle for those losses - I'd accept 45 returned SNP MP's right now. I think West Aberdeenshire will also fall and fear the Tories will throw everything at Moray and the huge scalp that Angus Robertson would be. The Lib Dems could also benefit from tactical voting against the SNP
  15. The last Scottish opinion poll GE voting intentions compared to the 2015 GE: SNP - 47% (-3%) Tories - 28% (+13%) Labour - 14% (-10%) Libs - 4% (-3%)
  16. So much for fixed term parliaments! Really can't be bothered with this just now - was struggling to cope with the local election campaign! This can only be bad for the SNP. With the Tories polling about double in Scotland compared to the 2015 GE, can easily see them getting 10+ seats at the expense of the SNP.
  17. I'm not sure of their current nuclear capabilities, but any military intervention in North Korea will at least be met with a huge conventional retaliatory strike on the south. If I was one of the 20m+ residents of Seoul, I'd be packing my bags.
  18. Yes, received a pm. Also confirmed it on the facebook page.
  19. Will be interesting to see what happens in my ward - East Garioch. Last time out Fergie Hood - the only SNP candidate - strolled home. He's since defected to Willie Rennie's mob and although he appears to represent the area well, are enough people really going to vote for him again? Two SNP candidates this time round, which is understandable given that the number of elected councillors has been increased from 3 to 4. Prediciton: one each to SNP, Greens, Tories and Libs.
  20. Two of us keen to reserve seats on the bus. Will send you an e-mail. Cheers.

Didn't expect that. Back to his most frustrating!
  22. Disappointed that Pawlett's away. With McGinn almost certain to leave, thought Pawlett could fill that gap and become a regular again next season and beyond. His best years are ahead of him - good luck!

Cracking draw at Indian Wells. Relatively straightforward (on paper) for Andy. Djokovic, Federer, Nadal and Del Potro all in the same quarter .

Yep. He really needs to take advantage of this stage of the season with them both defending a lot of points on clay and then Andy's maximum points on grass. So far so good in Dubai.
