  1. Would agree with most of these 2 posts with the exception of Fletcher. Unbelievably overrated in a Scotland shirt imo.
  2. I think you'll find Scott McTominay will have the say. There's nothing Gareth Southgate could say to him that he would be aware of already.
  3. Totally agree, although once he's made his bed he better lie in it if things go tits up with England.
  4. How is he England's scraps? He's never represented England at any level and if anything I'm sure I read he'd previously joined up at a Scottish youth squad.
  5. The perfect example of why it's pointless looking at potential future stars (not a dig at op). We are great at 16/17 yr old, then a large chunk of these players start to think they've made it and discover booze and birds and are has been by 21. There was a lot of excitement the other week when one of the youth sides beat Spain, but I'd bet that that same fixtures five years down the line would finish in a very different outcome.
  6. You seem to have great knowledge on the subject, I assume you were there when he was asked?
  7. Werder Bremen did it too. Would love to see this done at Hampden.
  8. All I'm saying is, for the people who want serious change, they would have to make a stand. All this "I hate the SFA, but I'm still going to matches" is what keeps the blazers in position. Don't moan about them, then continue to fund them.
  9. Cheers for that. Giving it a quick look it seems that they still average around 7-8k for each home match, which for the club is poor, but fairly decent by the league standard, which to me confirms what some on here say about happy clappers. If your going to boycott, you do it properly eg hardly anyone going to games, very few people renewing SSC, but fortunately/unfortunately (depending on your view) there will always be people who show up.
  10. The SFA just love people like you 👍
  11. A lot of people forget this. Vogts literally had to build a squad pretty much from scratch due to Brown's reluctance to introduce younger players. Yes he probably had an easier group than the likes of Levein, Smith and Strachan had, but they at least has a reasonably settled squad most of the time.
  12. Apparently Felix Magath had thrown his hat in the ring. He would have to be seriously considered if true.
  13. Didn't have one at Porto either. But as previously mentioned it would be a waste of time talking about him.
  14. Not really relevant to whether he's successful or not, is it?
  15. Yeah, cause my current thought process is relevant to the game 25-30 yrs ago eh.
  16. I'm sure fans of his previous club's would speak favourably of him and I'm sure he is a good manager at that level, but the bottom line is that in his one and only crack at the top level he failed. And, yes lots of clubs do go straight back down after promotion, but some dont, Eddie Howe's Bournemouth being an example and at very least that's the level we need our next manager to be. But as you said, Neill is still young so he has plenty of time to improve.
  17. Cool. We'll just ignore the 1 season in the EPL where he finished 2nd bottom then and focus on the lower league stuff 👍
  18. I want Mourinho, but its a bit pointless if its not realistic.
  19. Define "solid managerial record". I see a guy who done well at a lower level then failed in the top tier, which is where International football is.
  20. TBF, they could replace Regan with a cardboard cut out of Steve Jobs and it would still do a better job.
  21. Remind me again how well he did at Everton when he couldn't buy the league.
  22. Unfortunately we're very unlikely to have any candidates who have a career that "rips up trees". Although, in saying in that, I'd be surprised if John Hughes, Malky MacKay, Scot Gemmill and Walter Smith were the best we could attract.
