And the firms defence of why it's all cool.. http://www.theguardian.com/news/2016/apr/03/mossack-fonsecas-response-to-the-panama-papers

Looks like there has been a massive leak of documents from a Panamanian legal company that specializes in tax avoidance for the rich and famous. Looks like a story that will keep on giving for a long time since 11 million pages of documents have been released. Particularly funny at the moment is the Icelandic pm when presented with the evidence in an interview http://www.theguardian.com/news/2016/apr/03/iceland-pm-calls-snap-election-offshore-revelations Panorama episode coming up soon with all the Brit's implicated too.

http://www.theguardian.com/business/2016/apr/01/chinese-imposes-tariff-on-eu-steel-imports-tata That's funny -
How is that any different from the policy of higher earners having to pay more. Although in that case if you weren't happy to cough up you were some kind of unionist stooge

Scottish greens propose 60% tax rate. Guess the Tories were right when they said last week there would be a rush to see who could tax more http://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2016/mar/29/scottish-green-party-60-per-cent-tax-high-earners

Need to say this is where it's all wrong. He has seen more of 82% of the team why take off the best player who is having a ball and who all the fans want to see.

Scotland haven't qualified for the last 9 tournaments fek me that's depressing

It's impressive that they managed to make a fair system slightly worse

Putting the match on premier sports is really stupid and short sighted of the sfa. They probably got a few grand more than the BBC would have paid but hardly anyone even knew the game was on and kids won't have got to see it. They then wonder why they can't fill hampden or sell the football shorts.

Tax UK raise, SNP also raise (I agree with this BTW) http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-scotland-politics-35113952 Tax UK cut SNP don't http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-scotland-politics-35864248 You don't get to have it both ways and also claim neutrality

I had one this week and didn't notice a difference in the chocolate -
I'm not suggesting I'm on 45k but anyone who is, will be 400 quid a year worse off under the SNP than otherwise. You can't support all tax rises and ignore any cuts and pretend otherwise

University Education
Mee replied to Alan's topic in Anything Goes - Other topics not covered elsewhere
That's an appalling idea, kids from poor area go to local school and get educated to go straight into local factory with no academic options?? You want to mix things up? Any kid can apply for any school and places are allocated via a ballot. Takes postcodes out of the equation and you would then have pushy parents at every school kicking up hell to ensure standards are maintained. Or bring back streaming at an earlier age and let academically skilled kids go study academic skills. People that want to do trades get taught how to do that. -
Looks like the SNP are not going to raise the 40% threshold to 45k like the Tories. Think that is about 400 quid extra per year from people on >45k

University Education
Mee replied to Alan's topic in Anything Goes - Other topics not covered elsewhere
When I left high school in inner city Glasgow 3 folk including myself went to university. I would say the reason that less got the required grades were low expectations at home and their parents not encouraging/forcing people to study and making it clear how important it was. There is also the issue that if the only university educated folk you meet in your life are teachers then you are not shown what benefits there would be in sticking in and doing all the boring school work when you could be out with your mates. It's a hard cycle to break -
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-glasgow-west-35866663 Astonishingly a castle was found on the bank of a river on "castlebank" street. It's amazing what can be forgotten over time.

New guy was assistant to Platini who was banned and lived/lives next to Blatter. Clearly this is the man to clear out all issues. FFS -

The current negotiations will have Farage licking his lips. Cameron can't get anything through including paying benefits on a varying ratio based on the location of the children which seems common sense to me if you are going to pay benefits for children that don't live in the country. The negotiations Look like they are going to blow up now as Greece will veto unless they get concessions on the refugee crisis with is also a total shambles. my thoughts are that Cameron will get almost no concessions and will spend the next 6 months trying to talk them up. The EU has a good purpose and many benefits but the current path of more and more integration with the overriding ability of national governments decisions is not what the UK and many other countries want which is why it will self destruct. the cost of all these meetings and negotiations must be unreal
