  1. I ve a vague memory of bottles thrown on pitch at european tie in Scotland Game replayed , and closed doors following season anyone ?
  2. https://www.keenfootwear.com/en-gb/p/M-NEWPORT.html?dwvar_M-NEWPORT_color=1001870&cgid=
  3. New balance easiest the best for wide feet - i use 2e , but is a 4e also wish i known this years back get most of mine in north america but have ordered a pair here too Keen do decent wide shoes too - seemingly even their standard are wide-ish ; not trainers as such but walking/hiking low cut boots - shoes the military/ jesus sandal too was great for a hand luggage only backpacking trip to greece and italy - beach, pub , plane, samaras gorge hike
  4. At the early days of covid there was a photograph of tanks on a tank transporter under the scare story of boris locking down london with the army …. Or similar ( was on passed by ‘reliable sources ‘ ) transporter plates were clearly european ; i suspected was fake ( altho the mod could be so hard up these days is outsourcing …)
  5. I got a ticket to statue unveiling as had signed up for aberdna ; and coincidentally home for a visit tbh i was in two minds about going down as didn’t expect that much , glad i did as was great event - just shy of an hour , rob maclean did a fine job ; some good speeches ( notably strachan ) and nice highlights montage of fergies achievements got a ticket for united game too ; havent seen us much ‘ in the flesh ‘ over past few years , but wasnt great - Bates is a bomb scare , i liked the look of the dutch? guy , Bezulen interesting fergie mentioned in his speech about saying to chairman pre mexico 86 he was probably looking for a move ( was advised to only go for man utd seemingly ) would explain tge sharp decline in that last season - am in no way taking away from his momentous achievements that changed the club, city and many lives ( myself included ) but horsings by euro minnows , uninspiring signings and dropping down league early are quietly airbrushed out
  6. Think your correct there i honestly cant mind as we never really got that close gilhaus had a header too ;but he was always struggling to reach its height ( the cross that is ) both the these chances were in first half in front of us / i recall the press photographers handing back the team lines to fans in front rows - we knew at that stage smith had bottled it shame
  7. Hope goodwin does well , but havent been this underwhelmed with a capture since we got paul kane from oldham
  8. You could possibly trace the goalie incident back to 0-0 draw at pittodrie where mccoist effectively ended snelders career - he was never the same fearless keeper after that ; i sat a few rows back from goals at ibrox , and even in 2nd half michael watt was physically shaking waiting for a corner - dave robertson was shouting at him to get it together- the noise was deafening in the stadium agree tho on the 4-3-3 change - ironically our best chance was presented to van de ven ( defensive mid ) whos shot was a feeble pass back at goram - who replaced willem van der ark in the line up
  9. We ll never challenge the OF ( league wise ) again unless theres a seismic shift in financial side ; oligarch/arab investor - unlikely; shake up of league ; salary caps , american style draft picks etc - even more unlikely the old 5 ? foreigners rule may even help us ; and ultimately help the national team - has this ever been discussed after brexit ( i recall it was EU that ruled it illegal initially?)
  10. Already had delta ; took all precautions couple of losses in family due to indirect causes , karmas been served so am a bit bitter time to move on with life and stop the hand wringing has nicola put something in the water , where people have lost ability to think for themselves and sit in a circle , chanting ‘boris bad’
  11. I recall gordon strachan scored against them both whilst bleeding from his nose ; luckily the ref allowed play to continue
  12. Am pretty sure “back in the old days” say terracing before redevelopment at hampden and last of home internationals ? Majority of flags were yellow lion rampants only odd saltire - ( same at rugby ) today is total opposite ; just a casual observation in shift ; ditto with uj and st georges cross for england , on a roughly similar timeline
  13. you okay calling someone a cunt without full context then , am suggesting that measures imposed have been disproportionate to risk to a number who are on last legs anyways ; hopefully we can sometime have a discussion on the massive indirect knock on effect of this ; mental health in the young being only one area - i won't bore you with my own tale of woe , but obviously a bit biased about the whole thing while am being a total cunt , i also hope after this we can also look at 'lifestyle' choices and how the influx of 'existing comorbidities' that always threatened to overflow the health system had a large proportion of nicotine and pizza addicts within
  14. I do apologize, although you most likely fall under the category of nicolas acolytes, i should also a sub set of “bat shit crazy”
  15. Its all over , bar the shouting thank fvck altho some people would happily carry on this madness forever ; and am not just talking nicolas acolytes- at least a bunch of normal folks have seen through her and the cult the bedwetters, the hypochondriacs, the hand wringers, socialists, the unemployables, the ones scared of their own shadow brainwashed into bubonic plague comparisons but but theres a 95 year old granny dribbling soup in a home whos at risk now give me a nudge when we find a cure for death
  16. Assume you speak of guys who work 12 hours shifts 7 days per week ? unlikely to jump on the socialist bandwagon and subsidize the unemployables
  17. i'd always had a strange fascination for Clyde (for some reason) - never been to Shawfield - but seen photos - hard to believe it held 20,000 at one point though ? (during ww2 ; Rutherglen had 20k limit, compared to celtic 10k for luftwaffe attention) i'd read that a lot of the traditional support areas were knocked down post war , so part reason for dwindling support - think when Dons played there in cup 84? was 2000ish at the game i've only ever seen us play Clyde once at pittodrie, was a league cup game early 90s ; 3-1 from memory
  18. as A/ am spending a lot of time at home currently , and B/ its been -25/30 all week here ...... i had a bash at throwing down some early football memories - old 1st div -early/mid 70s - if anyone wanted to share thoughts also - as i know things changed a lot after that ; replica kits etc (which i could bang on for hours about) below may be familiar with some for certain era & geography A Loons Saturday Bob Wilson, Scottish Goalie ? English highlights, Derby County East German league, if your lucky Dad they’ve got tights on, See that mannie ! Time for the bus, grab the parka Scarf proudly displayed, off to battle Folk at the shop, waiting for mates Down Merkland road , tannoy blaring Cresting the steps , glow of the pitch Usual Paddock spot, Chipmunk crisps Practice for Bobby, ball fizzes past Old mannies chatting , reeking of baccy Joey nets, or wiz it Jarvie ? Back on the bus , turn up the tranny Arsenal One , Chelsea ; how many ? Back home for tea , game of Subbuteo Dr Whos on , then over to Brucie Theres highlights later, if you’re in you’re jammies Maybe some Dracula if your lucky Another day in the boys own diary
  19. Yeah am sure corny was on purpose ; but i gave up early on the increasingly poor decisions of todd margaret though i thought were funny - will arnett almost finished belgian series ( courtroom drama) the twelve ; decent Another vote for the beatles doc ; outstanding
  20. yes thats probably my 1,2,3 also started watching a show 'my shrink next door ' Will Ferrell & Paul Rudd (neither really my favourites) j ; but surprisingly am really enjoying it - straight roles for both of them
