  1. `He works his socks off in a team that produces very few chances and thus score very few goals. I think his confidence is low and he’s been injured. He is a far better player on his day than anyone out of the SPL. Needs a partner and being a target man is not his usual game. I think some on here pointed that out/
  2. Kyle Joseph seems to be making some headlines this week with allegedly a host of clubs after him. Anyone know much about him? Born in Barnet but played for U18/19
  3. We should sack him on the basis he likes fly fishing although it didn’t surprise me....... or judge him on the size of his catch!
  4. Before this set of results I would not have Jack or Gallagher near the team but both have been outstanding in these recent games. I thought Jack gave the ball away to easy in the first game but last night was excellent. This has the feeling of a club side and it will be interesting to see some of the youngsters coming through. Brilliant problem for Clarke. This is the team to beat Serbia.
  5. Serbia have some good players, a bit like ourselves, but until this week they have not gelled (a bit like ourselves) and according to reports this is because Norway played in an expansive way and Serbia’s 3 Ajax MD’s ran the game. I cant see Clarke playing like Norway and it wont be an entertaining game. We need a full squad and we have a great chance. The worry for us is scoring. We had four reasonable chances against Israel and failed to take any Of them. Its a bit exciting though.......... not been like this for a while......
  6. I agree and its going to take a bit of time. I thought McTom was good last night and didn’t look out of place.
  7. Is it on TV or a stream?
  8. Some TAMB members love whinging about how a different manager would change our fortunes...... well the last 30 years is a live research project on that....! Clarke has only just come into the job and is trying to mould a team without strength in depth...CD, RB, creative MD and forwards are evidence of this. He’s trying to get consistent system that everyone knows but it takes time. We are not losing and sometimes winning ugly and this is better than the glorious defeats or losing really ugly we have had in the past. I don’t care how we got there but we are in a final for a place in a major tournament against a team we have a chance of beating....although very tough. Surely thats positive. I am not sure who would be willing to come with a better CV than Clarke who has worked with some of the best managers in the EPL and seems to adept at getting the best out of players with limited resources. I would be happy if we got to a stage where we play an opponent and think we have a realistic chance of winning but were not there yet. There seems to be a bright future with good young players coming through at a top level but in the mean time.... chill your boots and enjoy the moment.
  9. Don’t really care how we got through but I am glad it was not a glorious defeat... Marshall is a great keeper but distribution was poor and put pressure on us. Jack put a shift in but won the ball only to give it back in crucial areas. Lack of creativity...... we need a Gilmour, Forest and Fraser on the pitch. McGinn was dropping back to make things happen and we need him in their box. I thought all the front guys worked hard with only scraps to go at. The defence was better and McTom didn’t look out of place Not sure what has happened to McGregor but looks a bit out sorts for Scotland. He usually controls possession but its not happening at the moment. Short time but Clarke seems to be getting us to a small club mentality - hard to beat but we need creativity from somewhere Great to see the passion of the guys when we won. Serbia can be beaten but it will be tough....... don’t give a shite if its ugly....just win.
  10. Marshall and McKenna did well. MacLean, Palmer, Christie and McTom nightmare. The others OK But something is so wrong. Poor tackling leading to persistent fouling and putting pressure on ourselves. Clarke needs to get a grip Not much intensity, to deep and not playing like a team. Christie is the example....running around like a no headed chicken! Depressing
  11. sandyb

    Czech game

    Is Palmer a professional......
  12. The clubs rule and we had the same issue with Tierney. Clarke seems Ok with it and he has said he is frustrated and the decision was taken out of his hands. What more can he say. hopefully fit for October!
  13. Clarkes is the one for me with Hanley/ McKenna!
  14. Just laugh at my attempt at satirical jokes and the world will be a better place... i am just so glad we can watch Scottish players for LiverP, Man U, Chelsea, Arsenal and ..... Sheffield Utd. Man City have just signed a Scottish kid as well.... so the future is great..... centre forward and half next please.
  15. It was a joke....... the situation at the moment is surreal....... oh forgot Armstrong was on the bench too. i think we are in the best position we have been in for years! chill
  16. Well what a week....... Gilmour hooked at half time, McTom and McGinn on the bench and Robbo gubbed. McLean nearly relegated, Fraser having a wee break and Marshall in administration... thankfully McBurnie and Tierney can raise the spirits...... plenty of time to get back on track I hope!
  17. Gilmour has been around for ages and has been dealing with hype at Chelsea and Scotland for the past 12 months. If he was English he would be in their squad. If Clarke does not pick him he needs sacked.
  18. Fantastic that Gilmour is Scottish. He is a class above by a mile and I am going to love watching him for next 15 years. Hope Chelsea and Scotland can build a team around him.
  19. Cooper and Hanley at CB.......... that looks like the best team we have had for (a lot of) years! Oh and it is young
  20. Is it not clear what am I saying or have you got a punchline? just to be clear..... i am saying play the 2 centre backs who are in form, playing at the highest level out of all our potential players in that position and get a settled back four.
  21. It absolutely does but I think he already knows this. We need to try to get a settled back four and then build momentum. If we can manage to get through it will mean more to players and stop the persistent call offs that other nations don’t seem to have.
  22. After watching Norwich last night and Leeds a few times recently it is evident that our 2 best CBS, by an absolute mile are Hanley and Cooper. Anyone thinking differently is deluded.
  23. What are you boys on... the video was inconclusive and he apologised for any misunderstanding he went to a game with his mates and made some gestures....... so what..we all do that we have no forwards and has not played much for us or Shef Utd. When he does play he works very hard, is aggressive with defenders and has an eye for goal. he is an established goal scorer in the championship and working up to the EPL but like any striker he needs a run of games we need ever decent player especially up front. So get over this push. PS i cant condone the drink driver....he is a wanker for that...
  24. Some on here suggested to me that McTom is not a ball winner........... I suggest he has a look at the Manchester derby and has a period of reflection....
  25. You assessment of the ball winner is not accurate. I give you McGregor but McTom not a ball winner - are you for real. As I said Man U have said he could play there. The other players are in form. Experiment as opposed to your suggestion and playing the same way and achieving the same outcome - that’s really worked out for us over the past few/ lots of years. In case you’ve not noticed, we already have the Mersey tunnel in our defence but with a black hole at the end of it. Need to do something different to get through.
