  1. I thought he was trying to say that his mum is a dog with buck teeth, which is even worse. I might have to tell his mum the next time I see her.
  2. Sorry aboot that, just wanted to shoehorn in a Saw Doctors reference.
  3. Do you ever get the feeling that you might be stuck in an endless loop of irrational hatred? it can't be good for your health.
  4. It could be argued that the smell is saying "don't sniff me". It could be more likely to be the taste which is saying "don't lick me"?
  5. It should have been included in the currency section of the White Paper on Scotland's Future.
  6. It is certainly just as valid a plan as giving money to corrupt and inefficient bankers. Nobody knows how this vastly expensive experiment is going to play out. It has never been done on this scale before. There is no plan on when the BoE is going to start selling off these imaginary bonds and economists can only guess at what is going to happen when they do. It would have much better to just dish out money to ordinary folk. The results of that would have been much easier to predict and control.
  7. I predict you will wake up in a cold sweat tonight thinking that you have just watched Scotland winning 0-27 away to Gibraltar but it was all a waste of time because we were already out of the competition anyway.
  8. 50 years in the past. They are living in the 60s still.
  9. Can we expect to see all 9 of you on the bike going from Belfast to Dublin
  10. It's called helicopter money. This is exactly what we should have done instead of giving all that money to the banks. http://www.economicshelp.org/blog/5937/economics/helicopter-money-drop/
  11. You cannae be much of a Scotland supporter if you haven't at least considered the possibility.
  12. I think it was Neil Coles or John Jacobs or some other auld geezer that used to do that with a 4 wood into the wind. He maintained that you had to hit the ball with the sole of the club about half way up the ball. Just a baw hair away from topping it. When I'm playing into the wind I just try to hit the ball as normal and accept that sometimes I'll need an extra shot to reach the green. When playing into the wind, don't hit it harder, hit it better
  13. I didn't hear what he said and I am certainly not saying printing money is a good idea. But Westminster have printed £375 billion and just gave it to the banks and hardly anybody has batted an eyelid. If we are going to print loads of money I would much prefer we did something useful with it, instead of just giving it to the folk who caused all the problems in the first place.
  14. Is this not the poll that was done in seats currently held by Labour, as well? Sounds like a load o pish to me.
  15. Unless of course we are already out. It's not inconceivable that we only get 3 points out of our next 4 games and we aren't able to catch the rest even with 3 points against Gibraltar. This group is far too tight to predict. I'm sure Strachan is just thinking about the next game and how to get 3 points in Dublin if possible. Settle for a draw if we have to, then move onto the next game.
  16. They have won 3 games. 2 of those wins were against Andorra and Cyprus. You don't qualify by winning 3 games. Great results away to Belgium and Israel but they have also dropped 2 points at home. The 2 teams below them have a game in hand. Israel v Belgium tonight. I think they will be in the play offs at best.
  17. Aye, but which point is the "nose"? It could be an equilateral triangle. In which case it's quite difficult to cut a slice off without cutting off at least one point. In my experience I don't think the French worry too much about being rude
  18. I don't think it makes you a glory hunter. I didn't pay £40 to watch Gibraltar either. I paid £40 to watch Scotland. It was at least £25 too much.
  19. Well, losing to Wales at Hampden was a major shocker to me and we should have beat them in Cardiff as well. They only got 10 points in the whole campaign and 6 of them were off us. Losing to Ireland in Dublin would not surprise me in the slightest. They are about the same level as us and we only just sneaked a win at Parkhead. It will probably come down to who gets a few breaks on the day. You seem to have gone from a total defeatist to a supreme optimist in the space of a few posts if you think we were out of the competition before we played Wales and you now think can go to Dublin and a defeat would be a surprise. I think we have a decent chance of winning in Dublin but probably an equal chance of losing. And it won't be the end of our campaign if we do. A draw would be an excellent result for us. If we win in Dublin I think it could go down as one of our top 10 away victories ever.
  20. We didn't need to win both of them, just one of them. Serbia weren't that great but I admit beating them away from would have been a surprise but not impossible. Not as big a surprise as beating Croatia though. Belgium are a decent side but we have beaten better at Hampden. Even under Levein we gave Spain a really good fleg. Too many defeatists in the Scotland support these days. We should never give up until it is mathematically impossible.
  21. The amount of folk I have met who were supposedly there, I think we did.
  22. I would like to hope that your defeatist attitude wasn't shared by the manager and players before that game. But judging by how piss poor we were in the opening 30 minutes of that game you could be forgiven for thinking otherwise. IMO that defeat to Wales was one of the worst performances I have ever seen from a Scotland team and a win would have kept us in with an outside chance of a play off spot. A defeat in Dublin would be neither a surprise nor the end of our campaign.
