  1. I see she's missed the cenotaph today due to a "sprained back". Spin to protect the public or on her death bed?
  2. I read cloud atlas years ago. I'm now listening to windswept and interesting by Billy Connolly. A lot of the jokes, probably about 90% you've heard before.
  3. You're really lucky in that respect. One 5k route I do from my house has me running past a KFC which has to be one of the most rank rancid smells of any fast food outlet, I don't know how people eat that shit, I've got to hold my breath going by it so I don't smell it.
  4. That sounded like a play rather than a n audiobook but then it was John grisham. 😉 The books I've been listening to are more factual or auto biographies. Listening to the person that wrote the book read it is something that I really enjoy. You should give it a go
  5. I hate running in the dark. I have glass ankles and always terrified that I'm going to break an ankle in the dark. I've just signed up for the great Scottish run in Glasgow next year, 10k. Done with half marathons. I also got my fastest time at parkrun last weekend in about 2 years, 25:43.
  6. I'm a recent convert to the audiobook whilst i'm working, Listened to recently Shuggie Bain Midnight library by Matt Haig And away by Bob Mortimer Dave Grohl's book is superb, it really is impossible to dislike the guy. At Home a short history of private life by bill bryson, jam packed full of interesting facts Bury my heart at wounded knee, a book I've wanted to read for years but always struggled with the native American pronunciations, listening to it was perfect. The genocide committed against those people is utterly shameful. My new one I;m starting today is windswept and interesting by billy connolly
  7. only to realise that Dougie Donnelly is standing in an ice rink which can only mean one thing.......
  8. I was in Glasgow on Sunday. It was disappointingly quiet of protests and there were more police from the MET and Wales stoating about the city centre than people. I did see around a dozen people dressed as zombies outside the MoMA though I don't know what their particular point was. I also seen around 6 clergy folk sitting around a statue in George Square in quiet meditation, again didn't really know why. Glasgow I got talking to two police from the Met. I asked them if stoating around a deserted glasgow is better than walking around London, one replied that it was as "people are talking to us and being friendly, no one in London speaks to us" I also noticed that there were signs on lamp posts saying Glasgow, dear green place directly opposite piles of fuckin shit. p
  9. what's going to happen when Park want the loans repaid? Are Rangers going to break even never mind turn a profit? Will they need to sell a load of players in january? Will they die the same year as the queen?
  10. You've been grumpy on other threads too. I fear that you're displaying an angst that can be attributed to too much social media. Ye know I'm here for ye 😉
  11. Thplinth is a bit grumpy recently. What's happening fella?
  12. Michelle is watching this at the moment, I'm dipping in and out whilst doing other things. On episode 4 it's starting to feel a bit over stretched. Ten episodes could be 8.
  13. Just seen it on Instagram. I'm going into town on Saturday with Mrs chaff. Might pop along for a look.
  14. Is anyone going to the All under one banner thing on saturday at COP26?
  15. I hate seeing stuff like that but feel totally compelled to watch.
  16. I tend to watch more subtitled series too. Fauda is excellent if you haven't seen it
  17. here's hoping it's better than the book which was bloody awful
  18. I tried to watch the new thing "colin in black and white" about colin Kaepernick. Utter pish and switched off after ten minutes. Trying to link being picked for a football team to slavery was a bit OTT
  19. Completely agree with you. All I've heard so far, (I know its the first day) is "we need to do something." No shit, I thought that's why you were there. At least Greta is having fun. https://twitter.com/petercassidy20/status/1455201968432029710?t=K5NtW-DkrbSlJeYGZKk_LQ&s=08
  20. what are we all realistically expecting to come out of this? Will anything change?
