  1. I appreciate some of the comments above but as Ormond says he has friends missing out on this game then that is what I feel is pathetic. In this day and age when we are trying to encourage people to games to then say you can't get in is appalling. If this is the fault of St Johnstone though through not having accurate databases with details of their own fans then that is poor. Surely though if there is an away fan in the home end then it is the duty of the stewards and police to eject/arrest them.
  2. Acker Fae Orkney. See my route on the thread "what's your route" that i have just posted. There are still flights on these routes. Might help you (but nae getting to and from Orkney!!!)
  3. Only booked last night!!! Friday 2nd. Glasgow - Manchester train. Manchester - Rome, Rome -Malta. Tuesday 6th Malta- Exeter Exeter - Glasgow Now to sort digs and ticket.
  4. Mick is your man for all that sort of stuff
  5. Eddie Ambrose lol. Surely this would be the worst ever result in Europe for a "Scottish" side if it stays the same.
  6. It's all rather confusing. From what Parklife has shown above, to me it would take Aberdeen years of second round elimination to gain enough points to be anywhere higher than they are graded at the moment. Incidentally having witnessed what I did in Fola, I think it's the worst result we have had despite any mitigating circumstances/excuses being offered. I did say last year also that i thought the Macedonian team we played would have beaten any other SPFL side other than perhaps Celtic. Once again for all those out there who assume Scottish teams should beat small teams because we have never heard of them or because they are from small countries, then sorry that doesn't happen any more. Aberdeen will not have it easy at all against Ventspils and I for one am not wholly confident we will go through. Some of these smaller clubs I think must look forward to these draws and hope that they draw a Scottish team because they consider us so weak and feel that there is an opportunity to progress by playing against us.
  7. Yet another E-Mail from the SSC today asking me to renew and telling me all the wonderful benefits of being a member. Do we know an exact figure of how many memberships were sold this time round. I can only surmise by the begging tone of their E-Mail that they are seriously worried about the size of the crowds they will pull in for the forthcoming campaign. Tough luck, you had the chance to retain my loyalty by introducing a favourable pricing policy.
  8. Pretty fair summation there dandydunn. Am not long back down the road in Glasgow after tonight. Felt we were a bitty pedestrian like in the first half. Think we will be quite comfortable over there. We will be a week fitter and their keeper is hardly likely to play any better ever. Big Taylor's first goal - what was wrong with it? Looking forward to my trip to Luxembourg next week. COYR
  9. Aberdeen spoke to McGovern before he went to the Euros but he declined to give an answer until after the Euros. Obviously trying to put himself in the shop window and earn a big move which after last night would appear entirely possible. Hence the reason Aberdeen signed Joe Lewis and Neil Alexander.
  10. Booked for Aberdeen game. Edinburgh to Charleroi on the Wednesday and bus to Luxembourg. 2 nights (extortionate hotel prices as before for Scotland friendly) there. Back Friday Easyjet Luxembourg to Gatwick and shuttle back up to Glasgow.
  11. C'mon then who do you bring in? In my opinion the best manager in the world (whoever that might be) couldn't do anything. As stated, we simply do not have the talent.
  12. I do like how you have started this thread but are not prepared to say who you feel we should get in. The best manager in the world wouldn't be able to get us to a tournament. We simply do not have the players. We also don't have young kids with the mindset of being 100% professional 100% of the time and applying themselves.
  13. I've given up mate because I'm fed up of watching pish. I've been going a lot longer than some on here and a lot less than a few others. For me there is no enjoyment anymore. I was fully behind Strachan's appointment, however his squad selections and comments of late have switched me off. I am no longer prepared to fork out hundreds of pounds, use up holiday time and blindly follow my country all over the world. Good luck to those who still are. There is absolutely no chance of Scotland qualifying any time soon for any tournament and I think the vast majority of us know that. The SFA have a lot to answer for in helping me make my decision.
  14. Anyone who thinks we have a cat in hells chance of qualifying for Russia must have been out in the sun too much over the last few days.
  15. Theo was at Pittodrie on Sunday for the Ross County game. Would probably have done better than youung Lennox too had he played in goal!!!
  16. Jeezo parklife what do you want from the guy? For a guy not very good at going forward, I can't recall any other fullback we've had in recent years scoring more goals than him. Had another good game today but Hayes was man of the match today by a country mile.
  17. Just in. Section Y for me today. Can anyone explain why the Motherwell players were so upset at Lasley's red card. Looked a stonewaller to me. Oh and a 12-0 win for us at parkred next week and we'll be ok.
  18. Yeah if they are playing Norwich/Ipswich they'll put on Suffolk ales etc. That was one of the things I was alluding to when I said they cater for the away fans well. Good idea. Incidentally it is becoming more and more difficult to find a straight person to speak to. And trying to step over the homeless is a bit of a problem too.
  19. I think I would have sought out the ticket collection point and explained the situation regardless of whether I was waiting on a phone call.
  20. I'm just back from a couple of days in Brighton. Very unseasonal weather. Brrrrrrrr. The Albion fans I spoke to rate him highly and are confident he'll make the grade. They are also confident of going up to the Premiership and wont just be going to make up the numbers. Used to go to the old Goldstone and have been at the Withdean but never been to the Amex. The people from Madrid over recently were stunned at how good the training facilities are. Brighton are a premiership club in all but name. They also have it spot on with regards to how away fans are looked after. I was told the Amex cost more than the Emirates to build. No idea how true that is. Anyway good luck to young Jack. I'm sure he'll do well.
  21. Andy, TartanJon and myself were in on the Saturday before we played Accies on the Sunday. We had just got off the train and bumped into FE and Lamia.. They recommended your gaffe and i'm giving it the thumbs up to all TA in Aberdeen. Top of Windmill Brae lads. Rather garish settees though lads!!!
