Oh What a Night

What a fantastic night for Scottish football and for the Scottish nation. We have returned from the international wilderness after 22 painful years. We can start planning for next summer and anticipate creating great memories and great atmosphere.

All of the players deserve huge credit for lifting the nation's spirits and turning abject failure of that Kazahkstan nightmare into the joys of qualification. I am especially thrilled for players who probably will never taste HUGE success at club level such as Andrew Considine who must have thought days like these were never going to happen. Players like Declan Gallagher who has had troubles in his personal life but has shone. O'Donnell who has put in some graft to get where he is and not let us down. Players like McLean (the penalty king) who now plies his trade in the Championship. Big David Marshall who has been through many failed campaigns and his career looked like ending with no big tournament appearances. Also great for the likes of Robertson, Tierney, McTominay, Christoe, McGregor and Jack - all players who will win domestic trophies and McGinn of course. All players with talent that merits a place on the big stage along with Dykes et al.

We, the fans, wanted it so bad and its just brilliant we are there and fantastic seeing ex-players such as Fletcher, Faddy, Boyd, McCann and McCoist love and cherish the moment live on television. Also the support from other quarters and messages of support from Andy Murray, NS, Irving Welsh, Doddie Weir and more.

Well done Steve Clarke. He's steadied the rocking ship and rebuilt moral and team spirit and got us organised and got us believing. He and the lads has made us proud again.
