Sheach
Spent some time recently researching this article, looking back at Scotland's 22 years in the international wilderness. We've come close to qualifying before, got to say we've never had a better chance than we do right now. Read the article here: https://www.thetartanscarf.com/post/scotland-the-wilderness-years And if you're on Twitter I'd really appreciate any shares of the article there too! https://twitter.com/TheTartanScarf/status/1323310360435298313 Is this our time? Just had a look at those league tables/stats panels. I see the top scorers in the last few campaigns were: WC2010: McFadden (2) Euro2012: Naismith (2) WC2014: Snodgrass (2) Euro2016: Fletcher (7) WC2018: Griffiths/Snodgrass (4) Euro2020: McGinn (7)
Snelders
Good article. The first 10 years were the campaigns I went to most games home and away. Ah, to be in my 20s again. I always maintain that Georgia 2-0 game (for Euro 2008) didn't matter in the grand scheme of things - we always needed to take points of Italy in the final game. Nevertheless, we fucked it up. Taylor1996
It's sad that players like Darren Fletcher, Barry Ferguson, James McFadden, etc, missed out on playing at the biggest stage in football because six (McLeish twice) stuck with a system that Scotland haven't been comfortable with since the 80s. exile
How do people rate the difficulty of beating Serbia away, relative to other make or break games? (These games & league tables are listed in the article) For example: - Beat Italy at home? - Draw with NL at home? - Beat Poland at home (other matches going our way)? - Beat Slovenia away? It may be on paper harder than beating Slovenia away but somehow this time feels as if we have nothing to lose, whereas in the other case it felt like more pressure.
