I saw an interview with Russell Martin a while back saying even though he will likely be fit before the end of the season, there is no point getting him in for a few games, and they will probably just wait for pre season to bring him back fully fit for next season. I guess if they have an injury crisis that might change.

He was a Scotland youth player but jumped ship when England came calling, at the same time as Matt Targett. I think they were both at Southampton at the time too.

(Wouldn't mind us producing a Jari Litmanen though). My point was that in other countries other sports are a lot more popular and kids play a lot of different sports, while in Scotland its football football football, so we really should be doing better.

I live here in Finland and it's very much an Ice hockey country, (they were world champions in 2022 and are the current Olympic Champions), also the weather isn't very conducive to playing football most of the year. Still, even they produced Jari Litmanen and Sami Hyypiä in fairly recent memory.

Isn't it funny how it's just taken for granted that Belgium are one of the elite teams which it isn't fair we have to qualify against. Not so long ago they were just an average team, no better than Scotland. It's crazy how poor player development is in Scotland, considering the amount of engagement with football here and the numbers of youngsters that play the game. It can't be a numbers thing, because Belgium only have 11 million population or something (plus the obvious examples of Croatia, Uruguay etc), and it can't be cultural because England are producing fantastic players up and down the country, right up til the border.

Yeah I just saw this in the email form the Norwegian FA, it's pretty shocking if it's true. If anyone who is more confrontational than me contacts the SFA to query it, i'd love to know what they say.

It was Alex McLeish's awful second spell in charge, when we got thrashed by Kazakhstan. They beat Denmark 3-2 in the last round of qualifiers, so they're not as bad as the media like to make it out as. Right enough, 3-0 is pretty bad!

Yeah I know, it was just because of the fact it only gave Norway as an option for the address. I'm sure it's fine, just me being paranoid ☺️

You would think that the whole point of the members club would be to stop people without a correct Norwegian address signing up and getting tickets. Did you manage to get the tickets printed off without a problem? Hopefully they don't check these things and cancel the tickets!
