  1. You can see hornby’s goal on flashscore
  2. I am actually😂....found a stream on hesgoal
  3. Hornby just scored...great goal, excellent in the build up and a cool finish.
  4. No Tierney for Arsenal tonight.....disappointed about that after his performance last week. But McTominay starts.
  5. I think we may have to wait a few years to see any real top quality centre backs come through. McKenna, Souttar, Porteous and maybe even Tierney will probably occupy CB positions going forward. McIntyre highly thought of too. Leon King, Liam Morrison and there is a boy called Jamie Hamilton at Hamilton too.....but they are all around 17/18 years old and won’t be on the first team scene for another few years.
  6. Unfortunately I remember his debut for Leipzig when he blitzed by a full back and set up a goal in his first involvement. That was about 3 seasons ago now and he never kicked on from there....sorry to burst your bubble.
  7. Was very impressed by Aaron Hickey yesterday, and at 17 years old you can see why top teams are looking at him. Started the game at left back, but moved to right back for the second half where he was equally as good if not better. Another real talent on our hands.
  8. Bringing in foreigners and journeymen hasn’t exactly improved the quality of our league i would argue.
  9. For anyone interested, Scotland u18s have been playing in a development tournament in Turkey, where they played against top opposition from Africa and South America. We beat Cameroon, who won the Youth African Cup of Nations, 2-0. And today we won 2-1 against Paraguay. Paraguay came third place in the South American Youth Championships. Kai Kennedy of Rangers scored a double in that game. Scotland weren’t full strength either.
  10. I understand everyone playing it down....but for the first time in, I would say, DECADES we have a potentially world class player coming through. You can throw in names like Feruz, Gauld etc but for one reason or another they were never going to reach the very top. Gilmour is different, he wants to be the best and will work his wee socks off to get there. Some Chelsea fans are already claiming he is a better footballer than Barkley and Jorginho who are very good players in their own right!
  11. To be honest I never rated Henderson that highly. Talented player don’t get me wrong, but doesn’t work hard enough going back the way. Can’t get away with that at that level. Very much like Scott Allan.
  12. Tierney has looked very good tonight, particularly going forward. A number of good crosses.
  13. Scotland u18s beat Cameroon 2-0 in a development tournament earlier.
  14. Billy Gilmour back playing and creating yesterday after injury..... https://mobile.twitter.com/TheBeardedRauI/status/1175433758016770048?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1175433758016770048&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Ftheshed.chelseafc.com%2Fchat%2Fposts%2Fthread_mobile.shtml%3F257812187
  15. I really don’t get it.....is the relentless failure to not qualify for major tournaments the reason the Performance Schools were set up in the first place??! The truth is clubs do not have the patience to develop players.... managers don’t get enough time for a start..... there’s got to be a degree of instant success or they are out on their arses within half a season. Playing kids is seen as a “risk” so they opt for experience. I always use Levein as an example. Two seasons ago, Hearts were skelping Celtic 4-1 with a young, exciting squad of players. Add to that the experience of players like Naismith and they had a real recipe for success. Fast forward a couple of seasons, where are these young talented hungry players now? And more importantly where are Hearts now??? Am sure Levein has recently said something along the lines of Cochrane not being physically ready for the SPL yet.....best midfielder at the club though....what chance have we got with this kind of mentality?! Then you’ve got the Stevie G’s who would rather develop other team’s players...
  16. This might be a result of how rash he is at times. He definitely doesn’t hold back.... no wonder he picks up injuries.
  17. I reckon Morrison’s teammate at international level might have something to say about that..... Leon King is a fantastic talent too.....plus Porteous arguably has more ability and leadership qualities than McKenna
  18. I think we have seen in flashes what these players can do and that is the most frustrating thing, and part of the reason so many folk get angry and frustrated at the performances. As soon as things aren’t going their way, they retreat into their shell and lose all confidence not only in themselves but their teammates. We need a true leader out on the pitch.

    Hope

Not gonna lie what little optimism i have had is slowly draining, but am still hopeful the Performance Schools will reap rewards over next few years. Been running for 7 years now and the first batch of kids are coming through.

    Hope

I think there is hope in that now some of the biggest clubs in Europe are picking up our top talent. Gilmour and Morrison are two examples of this, Hickey also being linked with Man City. In an ideal world they would develop in Scotland and improve the quality of the domestic game, but as long as clubs put their faith more in journeymen and loan signings, lack of opportunities will always stifle them. Ryan Porteous will definitely come into contention as well. And hopefully Hickey can develop into a top right back.
  21. I can completely understand this take on how the game panned out, but I genuinely believe most of our problems are psychological. Add to this a lack of leadership on the park and it’s a recipe for disaster. Russia have some good players, but no superstars....and they have an absolute unit up front who I would imagine most centre halves would have trouble dealing with. And what I will say about the Russians is that they never panicked when we scored....they had enough BELIEF in their own abilities to stick to a game plan, began to keep the ball better and smelt blood when we started to shit the bed and retreat into our shells. Look what happened to us in Kazakhstan....we lose an early goal and fall to pieces! We have good players, playing at a high level who perform week in week out for their respective clubs, but when they pull on a Scotland shirt, you can visibly see the belief draining from them. The performance of Robertson was a snap shot of what I am talking about..... nearly EVERY TIME he received the ball his first touch was inside whereas with Liverpool he is always on the front foot. Clarke was at a loss after the game about what happened....he watched them train all week, said he was really impressed with the quality and application, then when it comes to the match, despite getting off to a flier, as soon as they were put under a bit of pressure, they completely crumbled.
  22. I don’t think it’s too harsh to say a player simply isn’t good enough....it’s not a personal attack, he’s an honest player who tries his hardest but he is not cut out for international level football. I was at the game on Friday night and while no one had a particularly good game, O’Donnell is just too slow and immobile, and in an attacking sense he slows down the tempo of the play too much.
  23. Absolutely..... it’s through no lack of endeavour but O’Donnell just isn’t good enough, and any international team will exploit that as Russia did on Friday night. It’s not an ideal situation, but I would definitely have Jack in at right back until Tierney gets fit.
