  1. Ye been there. They all very brave in large groups when they full of ale . lmao
  2. Having been to both Scotland v England games I have to say that the English support is the worst I have seen in years. No singing at wembley, never heard them at Hampden until they scored. I along with most other fans go along for the sing song as well as the game. I just don't see the point in them going to games if they cannot support there team. Mind you even when they qualify for the world cup they are still not happy.
  3. One game at a time, let's not forget that Lithuania held us to a draw at home with us scoring very late to secure the draw. not that many years ago Georgia beat us when we looked good to qualify, so why some people on here seemed convinced we will beat Lithuania beats me. I hope I am wrong but Scotland will need to be at there best and any slip up and we are out. I think that draw with Lithuania at home will come back to haunt us, not to mention the late late goal England scored. We should really be 4 points better off but hey this is let's do it the hard way Scotland. I will keep hoping and praying we can do it though
  4. Being honest it will be hard to get anything from the game on Saturday but I take heart that it was not long ago that Iceland did England over, and the fact that we were on top in the Wembley game before England scored gives out some hope along with our last performance v Slovakia when we played well. At the end of the day every game apart from the draw against Lithuania was predictable enough, so I reckon we are two points worse off than we should be so any point or points tomorrow are welcome. At least that gets England out the way who are far and above the best team in the group but can still have a bad day. Let's hope this happens and we put on a show.
  5. Disappointed to see Oliver Burke left out of squad to play England. Not saying I would start with him but could have been great as a sub if needed with his pace. Cannot see Ryan Fraser starting such an important game which means if we do have a winger it is likely to be Forest, who in my opinion is just not good enough. Surprised Rhodes was not kept in the squad at least as he is as capable as anyone to grab a goal.
  6. Just managed to get tickets for England game. I am in East stand, area G2 row DD. Was wondering if anyone knows if this is near the front or back as could not get hampden plan detailed enough.
  7. As long as they dont wear that pink strip v England
  8. Should have nothing to do with his club manager, a player should always have pride in playing for his country. Having said that I would have in the Scotland most days, but picking and choosing games is not right.
  9. Should have guessed that there would be the usual negative response and jumping on one so called mistake, what about the some of the goals he has scored, why not show them
  10. Have not seen Charlie Adam's name in a Scotland squad for a long time. While I may not have him in the team, I still think he could do a job coming on. Great left foot passing ability etc. I believe he fell out with Strachan or vice - versa, but if Snodgrass continues to be inconsistent I see no harm in having Adam standing by. I am sure I will get a good few who disagree but I think he is better than a few midfielders who keep making the squad.
  11. Would keep more or less the same team barring injuries. The only possible changes may be Fletcher for Morrison and possibly Burke for Forrest as long as they played him wide to run at the English full backs, but then he may be best left coming on as a sub. I just think Forrest drifts in and out of games a lot but that can be said of many wingers.
  12. For those of us fortunate or unfortunate enough to have joined the Scotland supporters club and pre paid and received our tickets for the home qualifiers, does anybody know if we will have a chance to purchase another ticket for the England game before they go on sale to the general public. I know this is the case in other qualifiers, where it may not be a sell out, but I know the England may be a different scenario.
  13. Totally agree. I hold my hands as I have been baffled in the past by some of Strachan's decisions but last night it worked out well. He is not everyone's favourite but we must get behind him and the team at least for the England game.
  14. Cheers mate, glad some others have suffered as much as me throughout the years. One of the main attractions of following Scotland was because of the great supporters we have, but sadly I am beginning to doubt this.
  15. Are many of the issues important? We are Scotland fans posting on here our opinions and thoughts..that's all
  16. No I did know people would stand in the North area. What is the difference, the point I am making is that a lot of people are getting fed up of the fans at the front who stand up the entire game thus forcing others to as well. A good few guys around me complained to the stewards who never done anything.
  17. As a 53 year old I have been a frustrated fan for as long as I can remember, have seen some very good Scotland teams under achieve in the World cup during the 70s and 80s but never have I booed a player like the so called fans are doing nowadays. They gave there all last night and were superb in the first half. Chris Martin goal has gave us that smallest piece of hope.
  18. I see what you are both saying, but it cannot help a players confidence hearing boo's when coming on as a sub, glad the lad scored and yes he is possibly best coming off the bench.
  19. Don't know how the rest of you feel about this but every Scotland game I have been to recently I have stood the entire 90 minutes and to be perfectly honest the price I have paid for season tickets it pisses me off. Stood all night at Lithuania game, England away, and then last night in the North stand. Have complained before to SFA and supposed to be the stewards were going to be asking the still small minority of fans to sit down, but this never happens. We are not all youngsters who can stand all night. Even an annouchment prior to kick off may help. That's my moan over with.
  20. Was at the match last night and was disgusted at Martin getting booed when coming on as a sub. I admit he is not my first choice either but to boo him or any other player who comes on or plays is just wrong. I had an idiot behind me who slagged off certain players because of the club that they play for. When Martin came on I will not even repeat what he said before leaving and of course missing the goal.....serves him bloody right. We all have the right to an opinion but please get behind the team and does it really matter who they play. I don't support Celtic but thought every player from that club played very well along with the rest.
  21. Would you keep Strachan on if we lose on Sunday ? There are a few out there who would and will do better.
  22. Cannot believe we can only draw with Canada. Usual defensive error for there goal. Why the hell can't they just boot the ball clear. All the defence does is back off instead of putting in a tackle. Martin is a joke...how he starts a game is beyond me. Burke has great pace and should be played wide to run at defenders. We know what Naismith can do (or can't do). There was no imagination from corners or free kicks. The only few pluses were the lad from Fulham and Griffith looked eager when he came on. Being a right mug I have already got all my tickets for the qualifiers, but at this moment in time I am dreading Sunday. No disrespect to Canada by the way, but we should be winning games like this by two or three goals. Only plus if we lose on Sunday is that Strachan must then go or walk along with a bloke who I think has been sacked at every club he has managed, Mark Mcghee.
  23. Long as we have a go this time. I was at England game and once we went 2-0 down Strachan made no changes, then took on a defensive midfielder once we were 3-0 down. Burke and other forwards were on the bench so no idea in his logic. Hope he unleashes either Armstrong or Burke, cannot see Strachan playing both as not his style. Defence will always be a worry so lets hope we have some attacking options,
  24. Even the phone number they gave does not exist. I got 3 e mails from them which I found suspicious straight away. I also know as should most us that my membership has been paid, so to fall for this scam aint very clever.
  25. Not too surprised he is being kept on, as money talks no matter what the SFA say. Two 3-0 defeats are hard to take along with the 1-1 draw with Lithuania. He is a lucky man to still be manager. To say we can still finish second is a tall order and bold statement. If we do lose the next game then we have absolute no hope.......will they sack him then? If they do the poor bugger who takes over will have nothing to play for. Absolute shambles.
