Season ticket sales underway looking good for crowds being back say our SPFL clubs. I fear the reality is somewhat different and that we will be stuck with a few hundred crowds where we can have them for a long time yet possibly in to 2022. Our corona numbers are higher than England now as well. “Test events” have been noticeable by their absence up here but the biggest test events of course are a couple of weeks away in the place with the biggest numbers of corona sadly. I am not optimistic our clubs can cope with another season of this

I think perspective is good we have a number of players who are now playing consistently well at a decent level and it is some years since we could say that ,

Liam Palmer has been playing well down south apparently

Armstrong and McGinn and consistently playing well at club level which is good

John fleck maybe a bit lucky to get in doesn’t always play for a rank rotten Sheffield United

I was counting hendry still as Celtic , Taylor is questionable, Forrest I get why included but probably finding his way back to fitness but just walks in. D

They have much better facilities at a national level to look after their players than we do as i suggested , whilst I suspect we are still jumping over cones and hoops I suspect.

We push the likes of tierney and fraser as we have little options the likes of Newcastle and arsenal don’t trust us at all. I don’t think it’s the players fault but we never see our players at a St. George’s park type place getting fully put through paces I always get the feeling our training regimes have not changed much since the 70s with the likes of John carver involved . a lot of our players not always club regulars and they always look they are struggling later in games. Put all that together probably contributes to the high amount of injuries , withdrawals and higher turn over of players than other home nations.

I always have the feeling our fitness and medical facilities are not the best for our players. we tend to play players that are not fit and maybe getting limited club games a lot of our players outwith the top ones generally have low fitness levels and a lot of the English clubs don’t trust us to look after their players .

Could Newcastle say to us fraser is still not fit and needs to get fit for next season. May not play before seasons end next week. Didn’t Bruce question our medical procedures previously .

Whilst adams isn’t great he is still better than dykes . Dykes is just a slightly more mobile version of mcburnie Dykes is mid-table championship level and the jump to a tournament finals is too bit.

He seems a decent player but he will end up at a mid to lower premier team soon . Z

Mcburnie has 7 goals in 59 appearances for Sheffield united which is even worse . Would imagine they will want him out the door and off the wage bill might be tricky ask though.
