If you read soccernomics (a book that analysis the statistics of football) you'll find it difficult to disagree with the conclusion that managers make very little difference to football results. Apart from the first few matches of a new managers reign then results are pretty much indifferent. They do mentiont there are a few exceptional managers who break the pattern like mourinho but the vast majority make no difference. Unfortunately we are in a horrible generation where fans are far too impatient and the manager merry go rounds are a farce. Strachan has failed but that shouldn't automatically mean he isn't given another chance. I think Scotland can only benefit from continuity from a decent manager, changing manager for the sake of it will just not work.

Can't disagree with the stuff already. As a self employed person then its the cost of the trip plus the days off. For instance the Thursday Sunday games are brutal

Thought he was fantastic. My expectations were low for whatever reason, but he was every bit as good as his first tour. The wee bit on the referendum was hilarious. Thought the support was great too. Gig only spoiled by 3 steamers beside me who talked and sat on their phones the whole time.

39.09 for my 10k, 18.50 for 5k, always feel like I'm blowing out my backside doing the 5k/parkrun on a Saturday morning as well, feel like I could definitely beat it by a bit.....I would much rather go a run at 9.30 in the evening as opposed to 9.30 in the morning.

Has anybody been to watch Braehead Clan or any other ice hockey in the UK? Heard it's pretty good by one or two folk and just wondered if any folk on here would recommend it. Cheers

Have we had a good campaign though?? It's been ok but not good. Too many average performances now. We won't take anything from Germany, we'll be lucky to take a point from Poland on evidence of our recent performances. We look to be heading for 15 points at best....I could be wrong.....but if so then its not good enough and let's be honest all of our previous managers would have gotten us 4th place. Apparently we are making progress yet all the other home nations look to be going to France and we aren't. Pure utter rubbish.

Definitely shorts this trip. I'm not a huge fan of the kilt but generally wear it on away matches days. On a side note does anyone know where I could pick up a nice pair of tartan shorts?

Not a bad draw for me. Kygrios is as tough a 1st round he could get but Andy has had little problems so far against him this year. The next 2 rounds look straightforward with a tricky tie against Kevin Anderson likely in the 4th round. Stan wawrinka has looked a bit off since winning the French open and I would fancy Andy to beat him in the quarters. After that it's anyones guess. Federer has surprised me and looks back close to his best, but I'm undecided on him. Yet again Djokovic has managed to get a very favourable draw. * just read that wawrinka who is 30 has a 19yr old bird who is on the women's circuit.....Nice one Stan ?

I'm sure taxis will be ok,although may be harder to come by after the game. There are 5 of us going but I'm not stressing over buses just now and will just sort a taxi or something over there

Still going strong. A nicer man in football I've yet to meet. Had his differences with Douglas Rae in recent years and more of a regular attender at Ibrox, but good to see him back at Cappielow.

I find Turkey a great destination for holidays with the kids where you are spoilt for choice with all inclusive resorts that cater superbly with children. The flight to Turkey is 4.5 hrs but I recently travelled with my 4 - ages 12, 7, 6 and 3 - and it was no bother.
