  1. Quoted Powell ? I did no such thing. And I don't read the Guardian or any newspaper for that matter. Politically I'm a boring moderate centrist. Funny how you didn't bother to dispute any of my points either.
  2. "left wing refugee hugging terrorist sympathizer types" Pretty obvious what your getting at. "Refugee hugging" eh ? I suppose the people who took in kids from the Spanish Civil War and the Kindertransport project wouldn't meet with your approval And you have some brass neck to complain about refugees. You are an immigrant yourself in a country that was stolen from it's native people. And as for "terrorist sympathizer types" what most people agree on here is that this is a time for calm heads and restraint, not retaliation or persecution of the UK Muslim's. They are not the enemy. Rather as has been said it's a small select group of radicalising agents who prey on wayward young men and women, some of whom are mentally ill. We trust the police and intelligence services to carefully target these select individuals not entire communities. What's your bright idea then, eh Enoch ? Deport the entire Muslim population who have done nothing wrong perhaps ? Or maybe make them wear big ID badges or something ?
  3. What a horrible wee man you are. This isn't the first time you've come out with bile like that.
  4. I'm very open to the paranormal's existence and have had one particularly weird experience myself but you are right. The majority of it is down to a wide variety of things like dreams, flashbacks, self-delusion, frontal lobe epilepsy, intake of alcohol, medications, drugs, carbon dioxide poisoning or just a plain old hyper active imagination.
  5. Interesting. Is that the one near Otago St ? Some great second hand bookshops near there.
  6. Seen that Stephen O'Donnell was released by Luton Town the other day. Poor move that as. He was a good player for Partick Thistle. Any clue as to whether Charlton are keeping Tony Watt on ?
  7. What an absolute fücking wänker I do wish Sunderland well for next season, decent fans and provided a lot of Scotland internationals (for an English club) throughout their history.
  8. Alright then I will turn it the way I like. Perhaps you could leave your small town world and prejudices and go out and meet a few "New Scots" ? They don't bite and they love Scotland too. People who aren't from Scotland originally but came and settled here are not sitting there plotting to murder us in our beds and take over the place you know.
  9. hampden_loon in talking right-wing, insular, rubbish yet again shocker ! Annoys me when people seem to think that immigration is something new to the UK. Where some of my folks lived in 1911 - Portugal St, Gorbals - there were according to the census Irish, Poles, Germans, Russians and Italians living in the same building as them. You'd also find plenty of sailors from the Indian subcontinent in the boarding houses of Greenock and Port Glasgow. Finlay J. MacDonald's memoirs recall with affection the small troop of Asian travelling salesmen of the 1930s Western isles who were well liked by the native islanders.
  10. Oor wee Doge's Palace replica next to the Green is a sign that we are a truly international city
  11. How many people are aware two natural burns, the Camlachie and Molendinar, still run beneath the city streets and flow into the Clyde ? Both covered over in the late 19th Century. Pictures of the Molendinar from a few years ago http://catchingphotons.co.uk/blog/miscellaneous/the-molendinar-burn/ I'm a really sad bästard so I find stuff like this fascinating. Glasgow truly is a magical, mysterious and deeply romantic city. Beat it Venice !
  12. In that case, fair play to him. I hope he does other clubs a favour and waives any offers of management that come in but I doubt his ego will allow for that. The man is a charlatan. This is worth a read about his time managing in Spain. Made a right cünt of himself over there. http://www.heraldscotland.com/sport/14022158.There_was_more_to_Moyes____sacking_than_poor_results/?ref=mr&lp=3
  13. Ok then who do we play at right back seeing as you don't seem keen on Tierney playing there ? What exactly do you want Strachan to do when there are simply no Scottish right backs available ? It's out of his hands. This is actually one thing we can't blame him for. I want Tierney to continue at right back. The kid is a good footballer, perhaps arguably the most talented player we have and he should do well. And even if he does have a bad game I still want him to carry on there as I think he'd be better option than Paterson.
  14. Which goes to show that Ferguson wasn't always as good judge of ability as the media or he himself thinks he is. There was also time when he wanted Carlos Queiroz to succeed him.
  15. Rotten manager. Said it a hundred times before and I'll say it a hundred times again. Moyes was a fraud. Has his teams playing a pish, boring long ball game. Favours height and strength over skill and fitness. Got fooled more than a few times in the transfer market at great cost. Has a mighty high opinion of himself too. Just because "Sir Alex" is your pal it doesn't make you a great manager. Remember that "Sir Alex" has in the past given his personal seal of approval to football geniuses such as Carlos Queiroz, Mike Phelan, Ricky Spragia and René Meulensteen. Keep Moyes well away from the Scotland job.
  16. In that case he shouldn't have picked Marshall. Strachan really does beat Vogts in the lottery approach to call ups.
  17. At least Tom Cairney is still in there which I suppose is something. Four goalkeepers FFS.
  18. Ach well, at least he still has his insane blog I suppose.
  19. Anyone else get an advert from the Lib Dems displayed at the top of the TAMB ? I know the Mods aren't responsible for the ad content
  20. They are indeed strangely engrossing little films. Would they have played them as "fillers" at cinemas ? I enjoyed "Coasts of Clyde", "Elizabethan Express" and "Blue Pullman". The latter has a strange kind of hypnotic feel about it.
