The Northern Quarter has a few good bars and restaurants. Avoid the Printworks like the plague. Full of hen/stag dos and neds.

Neil Diamond.....
Fairbairn replied to JasMc1973's topic in Anything Goes - Other topics not covered elsewhere
I considered getting my old dear a couple of tickets for this for her birthday. Then I seen that the cheapest ticket is 75 quid!! -
Thanks for completely ignoring the point where I said absolutely none of the above and mentioned him planning to have fan ownership. At the moment I couldn't give a flying badger if Celtic go on to win the league 100 times in a row. If I still have a club to support and go and watch in 10 years time I'll be happy with that.

I still think the bit at the end of The Captain by Biffy Clyro says "Let's death away" as opposed to "Let's love death away" which!! -
Serbia V Albania
Fairbairn replied to EddardStark's topic in Football related - Discussion of non TA football
Other than their fans running on to the pitch and lamping the Albanian players with plastic chairs and the likes they're completely blameless. -
How Rich Are You ?
Fairbairn replied to Rossy's topic in Anything Goes - Other topics not covered elsewhere
Bloody Hell! (Sorry Scotty..) 1.02% but if I add in the income from my rental property I'm inside the top 0.7%. Need to make sure my gaffer doesn't see this.... -

That sounds like some sort of penitence. I'm sure the Big Man would approve! -
I think the point Parkie is trying to make (and you in a roundabout way) is that the decisions have evened themselves out as we got a decision for us in Adam not being flagged offside when he should have been and then one go against us when the ball was ruled out of play when it wasn't.

To answer your original question, it's probably because the board has such an active and varied "Non Ta" and "AOB" section. In terms of traffic it's probably only really a TA board in the build up to and immediate aftermath of games. The majority of the time I'd imagine that the vast majority of the posts are in the 2 sections I mentioned and it'll be this that brings people back. I'm pretty sure there are quite a few posters with high post counts who rarely, if ever, post in TA Specific.

Worst Joke You`ll Hear The Day
Fairbairn replied to bremner's topic in Anything Goes - Other topics not covered elsewhere
Guy walks in to a butchers, points to 2 cuts of ribeye on the very top shelf and says to the butcher "I'll bet you £500 you can't get them down without using a ladder". The butcher replies "Nah, the steaks are too high". -
From what I can see Ashley's sole intention seems to be to strip as much cash out of the club as he can with little regard for anything else. Things like having the naming rights of the stadium and trying to get ownership of the club crest mark him out as similar to Green to me. I also think King's eventual intention is to hand over to some sort of fan owned model which I'm behind.

He couldn't get involved back at the "start" due to his issues in SA. He has tried several times since then and been ignored by the current board. He now seems to have garnered enough support from within the board and other institutional investors that he's able to proceed. Obviously the issues in SA that I mentioned are a massive red flag and cause concern however to answer your question about accepting anyone, what choice do we have? The club is being driven in to the ground and will cease to exist shortly (please spare me the "it already has" pish or the likes) so we more or less do need to accept investment wherever it comes from. At least on this occasion it seems to be coming from "Rangers Men" (Murray and Latham too) who seem intent on doing the right thing. While I don't see this as an ideal solution it as least seems to be a step in the right direction, or at least a step away from the wrong direction.

4 Points, 2 Hardest Games Of The Campaign Complete
Fairbairn replied to shanghaiscot's topic in TA specific
I don't think Wales will qualify. They're sitting pretty in their group at the moment but lets not forget that their 2 wins have came against Andorra (just) and Cyprus. 2 teams behind them both have games in hand and they are away to Belgium and Israel next so I wouldn't be surprised to see them mid table after that. -
This. The Georgia game at the weekend was the first Scotland game we'd been to as a group in ages. I made a decision while Levein was still in situ that I wouldn't be back till he left. After he did leave and Strachan came in a mixture of the apathy and ridiculous scheduling of games meant that Saturday was the first game we managed. Thoroughly enjoyed it and had a great day out however the likes of the Germany game being on a Monday night has no appeal to me whatsoever and that's coming from me who lives probably about a 20 minute drive from Hampden. I can only imagine what TA who live in the likes of Aberdeen, Inverness etc think about it. It was bad enough, but manageable, when they moved games to a Friday night but to now have them on pretty much every day of the week is just ridiculous and shows complete contempt for the supporters. I doubt I'll be at another home game in this campaign (and that goes for Scotland and Rangers).

Was that not maybe a bit later. I seem to remember being on the pitch at Hampden when at least one of the stands was missing (long story) and that would have been late 96/early 97. *Edit, stand corrected, you're right. I must have been thinking of when they replaced the South Stand which seems to have been around 98.

I remember that game. Did he not practically curl it in from the touchline? He was supposed to be the next big thing around then but all I can remember is a rather lackluster spell at Forest.

We'll have the likes of Brown, Mulgrew, Maloney, Gordon all of whom play/played regularly at Parkhead (not to mention WGS). Again, does that not outweigh any possible advantage that Ireland might get from McGeady and Keane having played there. And incidentally, how many games did Keane actually play for Celtic at Parkhead? 10? 12?

Pretty sure I was at the Brazil Rous Cup game. I don't really remember anything about it though. I do have much clearer memories of a dreary 0-0 draw with Colombia but think that was about 3 years later. I must have been to more games between those 2 but I can't remember what they would have been! Actually, now that I think about it I was at the 0-2 Rous Cup game against England. I'm now struggling to think when the first time I saw us score a goal was!
