  1. If your in Embra town centre at any time of the day it'll be likely you'll come accross some of them. All the info here - http://news.stv.tv/east-central/291661-road-closures-put-in-place-for-orange-orders-edinburgh-march/ Road closures are being put in place for the Orange Order’s pro-Union march in Edinburgh this weekend. Several main roads will be closed between 10.30am and 2pm on Saturday, including the Mound, George IV Bridge, Market Street, Jeffrey Street, Forrest Road and Canongate. Abbeyhill will be closed until 3pm between Canongate and Croft an Righ. The City of Edinburgh Council is warning members of the public to leave more time for their journeys. The Grand Orange Lodge expect around 15,000 of their members to descend on Edinburgh for their "proud to be British" rally in support of a No vote in the independence referendum. They will start at the Meadows at 11am and march through the city before finishing at Regent Road at 2pm. Police Scotland say they have arrangements in place to deal with the biggest Orange Parade ever in Scotland. A spokesman said: "Police Scotland’s priority is to ensure public safety and security and we will uphold the right of anyone to march and demonstrate peacefully. "This event, like every other of this type, will be policed appropriately and proportionately and we will respond appropriately to any issues which arise, dealing accordingly with anyone who breaches the law."
  2. Needs its own thread. The looks on their faces. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DiMXuEmqAHA&feature=youtu.be
  3. A bit of light relief, this genius has been following the better together mob up the town blaring out the Empirical death march from Star Wars. Legend is bandied about too often but this guy is. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DiMXuEmqAHA&feature=youtu.be
  4. We were canvassing in Blantyre last night, it was a bad night for us and we still had 28 - 25 in favour of YES. That was on a street with more than a few households of the loyalist variety. good thing was that those who were voting YES could see through all the negativity, last guyw e spoke to was English and he would have put a lot of native Scots to shame. not on our lists but accross from where we were canvassing was a house plastered in YES posters, all the weans were out (she had 5 boys and 5 girls!) asking for stickers. couldnt add them to our lists but there were 4 of voting age and all YES. All this media spin is designed to dishearten. We still have the momentum. I just witnessed Ian Davidson and one of his minions climbing back into their car at govan cross after a lacklustre attempt to woo some voters. His minion noticed an NHYES sticker on the container unit they were parked in front of, he tried to scrape it off and got an earful from a wee lady sunbathing in front of her flat.
  5. I watch RT and Al Jazeera, RT is hard going in general because they are just as biased as the bbc on most matters (the other way) but although theres not a whole lot of reporting on these channels about the referendum whats on is usually fair.
  6. He kept banging on about how his background was welsh, scottish this english that, i was shouting that it wasnt about nationalities but about where the power lay. Fat person couldnt hear me anyway, although he did hear us all chanting "we're voting yes". At one point said he give us thirty pieces of silver if we just shut up, hope thats on camera!
  7. I was at this for a wee while this morning on rutherglen main st. What is it with millionaires and soapboxes? anyway, heres a clip of john Prescott saying we should have a uk football team as we'd have a better chance of beating "the Germans". I did plenty of heckling (i mean informed political interjection) but its pretty hard to be heard over a loud speaker. Loads of local Yessers there, i recognised a lot of our local Ruglen/Clang campaigners but also plenty Ruggie locals jeering the bussed in better together mob. One of them responded to my shouting at Prescott by telling me to shave as i was a disgrace, I was cut to the quick. A couple of Yessers had their signs ripped off them and saw one wee guy offering it to a 7 foot yesser. just the usual then, theyre rattled big time! https://skynews.grabyo.com/g/v/9mDFHtctx8O
  8. The current state of affairs, the union and Westminster. How can you defend these things, so they were on the Blackfoot from the off.
  9. Out canvassing, a guy said " nah, mibbe 300 years ago, but no now". I asked him if he wanted any information, he said no so I scratched my head and walked away.
  10. Ach well, here's my aim wee poll. Canvassing tonight in Cambuslang , 15 yes, 3 no and 2 undecideds (one of whom was a 70% yes).
  11. Is this guy a secret agent for the YES campaign? If not he's either extremely thick or absloutely really despises the country of his birth. Last year he claimed Scotland had no language or culture of its own (this cretin is from the Inner Hebrides!). Last night he claims we are "a minor entitiy in the north of britain". Anyway, more of the same, it canny be doing us any harm! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RSFqaEoYLNg
  12. I know what u r saying, it might give them a kick in the rise if pro Indy backers bought their rag, I'll think about it, but only the once, unless they declare for Indy.
  13. Seeing as u brought it up Phil, can I ask why u came to this conclusion?
  14. Just had it confirmed by my pal on facebook who was undecided but leaning towards no that sh'll be voting YES. I'd worked on her for months, her daughters and husband too tried to change her mind but she was very fearful of Indy due to the scare stories, I'd printed off loads of stuff for her, sent her a copy of the wee blue book but what swung it for her was listening yo Elaine C Smith last night.
  15. My wee sister used to post up stuff like she would leave Scotland if the SNP ever got into power, I don't exactly discuss politics with her but I didn't realise she'd changed her mind until tonight when she put a post on facebook. She works in the nhs but tbh I'm not sure why the change of heart, just glad she's jumped the dyke. Now hoping her English husband can do the same!
  16. Hi John, I heard you were getting some badges made up? If so could you put me down for a couple? If your still doing the Gaidhlig classes on a Monday night I can pick them up from you there. Taing.
