  1. The Robert Harris book indicates the truth about Team Blair IMHO. I also think they cleared a path for him with Smith's timely death (and later Cook, Kelly and who knows else).
  2. Hmmm was it "glorious failure"?
  3. Who thought Scotland would be the last surviving northern hemisphere side in the WC. Never mind Ireland, since Argentina started playing NZ, Australia and SA regularly they are just going to get better and better. Still you can sit back and enjoy Australia destroy us now, or at least I would not blame you if you did given some the bitterness on here.
  4. Aberdonians confirmed as UK's biggest fists. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-34527524 "By contrast, the people with the very best credit scores in Britain live in AB13, the Milltimber district of Aberdeen. And that, if you believe the stereotypical joke about Aberdonian generosity, may not be a universal surprise."
  5. Corum are good I hear. If it's them your with then I'm out of ideas. They should be able to tell you what it should be priced at to sell. Maybe take it off for a short time new pics and description and go again with them.
  6. Usually having a booming new oil industry in your area drives up the price of property. I mean look at the ridiculous price of pokey wee houses in Aberdeen for example. Highest outside of London and this from a fishing village on (oily) steroids. But yes of course if it is done irresponsibly and it reduce the values of someone's house they should be able to claim for damages / compensation. Or not if you are the school that this just a risk you face when buying a property. Take your pick.
  7. Aberdeen does not have a monopoly on the Scottish oil industry. Let the fracking begin...
  8. Imagine we get into the situation where we do not say something for fear of of saying it.
  9. Getting the HR with a high-end valuation and then offering the old Irish discount works. People like to think they are getting a bargain. But maybe you tried that already.
  10. Quite like these ones... https://www.google.cz/maps/@55.8374604,-4.2736417,3a,75.2y,147.13h,94.5t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1siZjIEbj07vi_QM5QLrCo9A!2e0!7i13312!8i6656 Have a feeling they might be out of my price range but.
  11. Ha ha that reminds me what do you think of Mount Florada?
  12. You could just say people not properties wolf. Glaswegians are world famous for their ebullient characters and cheery manner. sNOberdonians in comparison are world famous for their sour suck on a lemon demeanour and miserableness with money. This is reflected in the architecture of course. Plus remember until the turn of the 20th Century your average aberdonian was only 4 foot 3. It was when they got access to proper nutrition that they sprouted up a bit but this explains why for most of the doorways in Aberdeen you have to duck down when you go in.
  13. Dear Flora, I understand you have an extensive knowledge of the southside. In your view where is the best value (to pub ratio) area if buying a flat / house there. Charles Endell is most welcome to contribute. deepest respect, thplinth.
  14. I think there are bad times coming for the SNP. I have no idea how they will proceed from here strategically speaking. Already just one year past the vote we can see people turning on them for not being 'radical' enough. Problem is every on here has a different view of what radical means...The SNP are in an impossible situation of 55 seats (woohoo look at my massive cock) but also having their balls cut off by the No vote (oooooo). They are in power but with nowhere to go. Let Scunnered or Alan's crew get stuck in. You are only delaying the chance of a second referendum by staying on in power at this stage.
  15. Side point; It is interesting how Glasgow has a huge stock of grand high ceiling mansion style flats in numerous areas of the city while Aberdeen in comparison is struggling to exhibit any. Pokey wee shithole flats in comparison costing much more.
  16. Yeah that was all very presumptuous. I have no idea how Scotland's political profile would have turned out.
  17. Yeah I wish (well I don't actually). This is not a question of being ruthless to win. It is more being ruthless to simply survive so that if the mood does swing in back (in x years) we are in a position to get another vote. Look at the SNP we have Flora and Lamia under one umbrella. How are we going to be radical and please both of them at the same time. This is not what the SNp was designed for and it tries it will destroy itself. I think this is the obvious goal for some and to be honest I am starting to think why not. Just for the lolz when the alternatives start to materialize.
  18. Calling a referendum at the very first opportunity we had and without a lead in any poll is the essence of standing for what you believe in. The SNP was/is (i hope) primarily about independence. If other things are more important then join another party. Don't hijack the SNP and at the same destroy the main and most realistic chance of Independence. The SNP is not the vehicle for your (left or right wing) goals. It already has a long established aim.
  19. I can see all that being spun into a huge SNP loony left anti business anti capitalism shaft over by the BBC and the rest of corporate media cocksuckers from now to the end of time. Of course these ideas are good ideas. But so was Independence and we all watched in utter horror as they they all coalesced into one force to lie and scheme to destroy it by any means possible. Wise up, idealism is so last century. We could have taken a stance had we gone Yes but now it is back to staying in the game and survival. Go vote Labour or Tory if you prefer. I hate the fact the SNP are so popular post No vote. I'd much prefer Scunnered or Alan's parties were in power right now, much. Are you (talking generally here) pissed off with the SNP? good vote for someone else.
  20. No one has ever won shit on a 'radical' ticket. This is an inevitable strategic repositioning post No. Land reform died with the NO especially. The SNp are going to sit in the centre ground from now until the next referendum (a very difficult task IMHO). So I welcome the more radical supporters to off in disgust. In fact I would encourage it. The SNP should recognize that they need to decline before they will rise again. Dont fear it. Don't pander to the left and don't pander to the right both utter whanks. If necessary stick to your position and step back and let the voters experience the left if they want it. The SNP are not going to hold 55 seats for 10-20 years and then we have a 2nd referendum. It is going to be a rough ride with an inevitable decline. And this 'not left enough' pish is just the start of it. Too radical...not radical enough... wont matter. Hold the centre, remain reasonable to all. Radicals destroy themselves every time.
  21. Now I say I am too old but I recall reading that conscription applied to men up to age 50. Imagine getting called up to fight for this cause'. What then? Would you fight for your country if you believed the cause was in the service of evil? I am truly appalled at what the UK is involved in. And if things ever kick off big time rest assured we will be completely annihilated. Special relationship, yeajh right.
  22. Their willingness to displace millions of people and reduce countries to failed and violent states to Balkanize the middle east and then rapidly shift to doing the exact same thing in Ukraine was and is absolutely disgusting. They have zero interest in that suffering. They are like psychos unable to empathize or feel anything for the victims of their policies. It is not just the folk in the middle east who are utterly disposable to them but also the people of Europe. The fact that Britain is an eager partner in all of this is shameful.
  23. I also read Neutron as Neutron and just assumed you were just talking pish. Says here 250,000 neurons for an ant. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_animals_by_number_of_neurons edit: a lobster has only 100,000 so ants are clearly very intelligent
