  1. In that case what have you been doing with your time ya lazy bassa , you have not been on here for ages ๐Ÿ˜
  2. ๐Ÿ˜‚ TDYERโ€™s โ€˜mumโ€™ was more a Donny Osmond fan as you will have noticed from my impeccable taste in music.
  3. I had very little pro indy choice in my area. Just the 3 unionist parties and the SNP.
  4. Sterling is getting battered too , despite the rate rise yesterday , which makes things even worse as it will further fuel inflation if it stays at these levels . Interest rate rises usually support the currency but the BoE policy statement was very dovish suggesting there is only going to be further modest tightening of interest rates . That is good news for home owners but does not support the pound, nor am I convinced the BoE know exactly what to do. They have also revised GDP down further.
  5. I dont know him. Apparently I joined here just as it went downhillโ€ฆ.. Please dont force me onto Facebook ๐Ÿ˜ Funnily enough the other day I was bored and played TAMB bingo , I chose page 86 and low and behold the first thread on the page from 2015 was about the demise of the TAMB and how it had outlived its purpose. Some folk saying there were always threads about it closing and it was still going. Here we are , 7 years later, on thread number 25778 about its demise . It would seem harder to get rid of than Boris Johnson ๐Ÿ˜
  6. If ever there was an example of how fooked up things are it has to be the back to back stories of BPโ€™s profit announcement and Bojoโ€™s response to the pensioner that has to ride on buses all day to keep warm.
  7. This happened quite a few years ago when employers were not checking IT equipment as rigorously as they do now, but even so it amazes me how daft folk are to use work equipment for that sort of thing. After the tractor/porn news broke last week , the story about my husbandโ€™s colleague came up in conversation when we were out with friends at the weekend . My pal said โ€˜ its not that bad , a fanny doesnโ€™t really change as you get older you would never know what age it wasโ€™ . She was deadly serious as well ๐Ÿ˜
  8. Aye, I would probably steer clear of that. Someone in my husbandโ€™s work got sacked for searching โ€˜grannies fanniesโ€™ on his work laptop. He tried to get out of it by saying he hit the site by mistake , until he was reminded he had searched it 86 times. On the abortion ruling , sounds like a step back to the Victorian age. If I was pro choice I would be pretty pissed off living somewhere that reintroduced that in this day and age.
  9. I doubt there is anywhere on here that doesnt know I live in Bridge Of Weir. Famous for its tannery and homing a few Rangers footballers in the 90โ€™s. A certain Mr McCoist still lives here. A village of 2 halves, uphill for the footballers and downhill for the rest of us. Its a nice wee place though, doubt I will move . It has everything I will ever need within walking distance . 2 pubs , few cafes and restaurants, country path and a funeral director. Oh, and a river for the bridge.
  10. Heard that just a few minutes ago on the radio. If it has gazumped Billy Connollys Bafta fellowship award on Radio Clyde then it is big news. If this is overturned it will affect half the states in the US. Land of the free indeed. Unless you are a woman wanting to make a choice .
  11. Its become too serious, used to have a good mix of serious and funny threads but the humour is few and far between these days. Hopefully though, as GKM says, potential WC qualification will throw it a lifeline. And for someone who uses no other social media it really kept my sanity during covid, so thanks everyone for that.
  12. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ I see the application was successful ๐Ÿ˜
  13. Aye, a more apt saying would be โ€˜oh what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceiveโ€™ ๐Ÿ˜
  14. In his TV clip talking about what he might do to the Tory source behind the Mail on Sunday story about Angela Rayner, Boris Johnson referenced a quote from King Lear: He really is losing the plot.
  15. Thats a bit simplistic. Much as I hate them, I am wearing a mask on transport and in supermarkets as the NHS is continuing to see high numbers of staff and patients affected by this. They are already under a massive strain due to back logs , you have no idea who the people are sitting next to you on the train or standing in the supermarket queue. They could be a nurse in a loved oneโ€™s ICU ward, or in a care home. It requires very little effort to wear a mask, it takes a lot more effort to keep a Respitatory patient alive. People are moaning about never getting a doctors appointment or their delayed hospital appointment, but are willing to discard their mask at the first opportunity. Unlike Ally I dont think people not wearing masks are cunts, but I do have an unspoken respect for the people that are making the effort to wear them. https://www.bmj.com/content/377/bmj.o981 Staffing problems On 12 April some 20โ€‰032 patients were in UK hospitals with covid, including 378 patients in ventilation beds.2Admissions seem to have peaked around 29 March. In England 1792 patients were admitted to hospital with covid on 12 April, down 15% on a week earlier. Health services continue to experience staffing problems, with almost 200โ€‰000 NHS staff absent because of covid in a single week.3
  16. ๐Ÿ˜ I am more โ€˜commonโ€™ than โ€˜senseโ€™.
  17. That would be the answer. Problem is not all right wing people think like you. Far too many fall into the โ€˜Iโ€™m allright Jackโ€™ category and are happy sticking with the UK whilst we have a never ending Tory government. I totally understand people being worried about the financial risk involving independence but the truth is too many people who are well aware of the riches Scotland hold are far too tied up in short termism to protect their own interests. Again , nothing wrong at all with wanting to protect your money and assets, but these very people are willing to chuck their life savings onto the stock market to increase their bank balance but somehow think Scottish Independence is too risky. Truth is they just cannot be arsed unless there is something in it for them. Thats where a right wing independence party would be very useful.
  18. I genuinely believe an independent Scotland could bring a fresh political outlook in Scotland and provide choices that do not exist at present. Nothing will ever change in the UK. Tories and Labour will never ever vote to change FPTP , its like the political equivalent of the Old Firm. But to unlock those choices you are going to have to hold your nose to help obtain independence .
  19. Wtf. I dont even know the know the rules of cricket but can guarantee this is utter shite. Think this tweet covers it.
  20. Consumer confidence at its lowest level since 2008, and second lowest level since records began 50 years ago. Retail sales drop 1.4 % against an expected 0.3%. Pound tumbles. https://www.ft.com/content/5e15eaaf-e987-4263-979c-81330035b152
