  1. I havent seen it but it is next on my list as it has been recommended by a few people I know. One of them recommended Designated Survivor right enough which is complete and utter shite so there is no guarantee.
  2. You are making me feel guilty, I have been making the rain an excuse not to go. That said, during that really warm spell it was as off putting to run in the heat as it is in the rain. I was out on Wednesday and there is an old bridge on the cycle track where i run, a group of boys in their early teens were hanging around and one of them was completely blocking the path with his bike. As I slooooowly approached , one of the other boys said to him, ‘ move your bike and let the lassie by’. If I had any puff left in me I would have kissed him . To be called a ‘lassie ‘ by a 13 yr old made my night.
  3. Cheeky bassa, I post all my best recipes on here as well. Mr Tidy loves my food that much he wont even get a dog in case he needs to share it with him.
  4. 😂 Often when I try to post a pic it tells me it is over the limit, so I need to change the size from ‘actual size’ to small/medium/large. Then it posts it on its side. I dont know how to avoid this.
  5. Pishin doon. This will be seriously testing my new waterproof patio set cover.
  6. Yes. That too. I have heard anusol provides relief. 👀 You might reconsider that friendship if you had to listen to him working his way through a family size bag of Walkers Max Strong Jalapeno and Cheese. On the plus side, constipation is not an issue.
  7. It is good acting. When he puts on that grimace, you know the one, the sort of pained smile and eyes almost closed , I actually find myself going tense and mimicking him . Though sometimes its because Mr Tidy is chomping his crisps too loud.
  8. Probably Theresa May . Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.
  9. Another 36 areas in England at risk of lockdown. Nae luck @aaid . https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/news.sky.com/story/amp/coronavirus-bradford-and-london-boroughs-among-36-at-risk-areas-that-could-be-just-days-away-from-local-lockdowns-12018594
  10. Well his uncontroversial comments seem to have stirred up a bit of a hornets nest 😊 ( I dont necessarily mean on here) It would seem he is a bit more outspoken on political issues than your typical football pundit. Climate change , Brexit etc. I doubt he was ‘forced‘ too much to defend his decision. Agree with your last paragraph. My logic was back to front.
  11. Thats not what what I was trying to say , I meant that if Le Tissier thinks you are far left by being anti capitalist then I suggest he sways to the right, you dont need to be far left to dislike capitalism. I don't really care what his politics are, he is just another celebrity throwing in his tuppence worth, I just think he is letting his political leaning make his decision . If the protesters were in favour of capitalism he would be fine with them. I would agree with Exile’s parallel above, its like someone saying they no longer support scottish independence as they think the SNP is too left wing or they don't like some of the more extreme hangers on. I do think however he has every right to speak out and I disagree with the pressure put on people to run with the herd, the poppy analogy being a perfect example.
  12. Finished this. I enjoyed it. Thought the subject was interesting and it was well acted, though sometimes i just want to shake Bill Pullman, his character can be both gripping and frustrating at times.
  13. I tend to think that when someone says they are not far left or far right ( or in this case that they dont want to be linked with either ) they normally veer, to a lesser extreme, to one of the sides. They use the word ‘far’ to make their own position seem more central . I have no idea what Le Tissier s politics are however he says he doesnt agree with BLM views on defunding the police and anti capitalism, which suggests he sways more to the right. He says ‘ I agree with the cause but there are parts of the organisation that I just cannot support."( those mentioned above) Sounds like he is using his politics to distance himself. Will be interesting to see if others follow.
  14. Made the mistake of clicking on the ‘reopen as soon as possible’ link and read the comments. Urgh ‘hate filled’ does not come close to describing these readers.
  15. I would sacrifice Sunday dinner for a Victoria Sandwich. I used to bake them when i was in my teens, they looked just like the one you posted it took me back. I used dream topping and jam as we couldn't afford real cream or even synthetic cream , but it was yummy.
  16. 😍😍😍😍 I’m on my way !! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️
  17. The police woman in that video has a serious attitude problem. ‘Are we telepathic to know you have gone for a GPS cycle ride with your family’. FFS , what a fantastic way to diffuse a heated situation.
  18. I have to say that is a fairly accurate based on my experience of people who are unhappy about this. I do think it is an insecurity more than anything else. Very good statement.
  19. The fact he was waiting for approval on a voluntary return to Sudan suggests it wasn't The Ritz.
  20. Of course its not discrimination and nobody in their right mind would try to twist the titles to suggest it is . Nor is it discrimination against other races to say that Black Lives Matter. Its only becomes a sort of warped discrimination if you apply reverse logic to all the titles. But as Vanderark says, there are not groups of adults out there who hate children but there are plenty who hate people because of the colour of their skin and IMO the title of BLM plays into their hands. But there is probably no point debating over the name as the underlying cause is what is important . And Save the Children and Help the Aged are decent comparisons to use when speaking to more balanced minds.
  21. I think Vanderark has pretty much said what I would probably take 5 paragraphs to say. Whilst , logically , people could perceive the titles ‘Help the Aged‘ and ‘Save the Children ‘ as discrimination, in reality no one would go out their way to highlight this. I just find it a little naive to think, realistically , that the same reasoning would be applied here or that the name ‘Black Lives Matter‘ will not create the reaction it has in certain sections. It should not make an iota of a difference, but unfortunately it does.
  22. Rossy is no longer a problem. # spoiler alert Chapter 5 : The Blast Furnace.
  23. 3 dead and suspect shot is current update. https://www.glasgowlive.co.uk/news/glasgow-news/west-george-street-incident-live-18494009
