  1. Yeah, i know you were Loon. I was referring to the people calling for her resignation. Truth be told if there was an election in a few weeks I think the SNP would take a battering. As you mentioned earlier though it will probably depend on the numbers , and really what situation we are in next year. I am not on social media do can only go by the reaction of people I know which has been mixed. Some pissed off , others nonplussed.
  2. 😊 if I thought I could avoid eating my own food for the next 16 days I would sign the bloody petition myself .
  3. Yeah, thats what the country needs right now. NS could resign and it would change nothing whatsoever.
  4. I said the same yesterday to a colleague but I think the problem really is the blurring of the lines. Most pubs sell food these days so it would be hard to differentiate. I totally agree though that there seems very little ‘risk’ in actual restaurants. Out of interest, can actual hotels sell alcohol with food ?
  5. Sigh. Anyone got any new recipes ? My restaurant booking for tomorrow night has been binned and I will be forced to eat my own food again. At this rate I will have no option but to poach in the River Gryffe ( fishing is still allowed ?) and boil fish heads in a pot like Mrs @McTeeko.
  6. I really cannot believe people seriously think NS is risking her job, the SNP being in power, and scottish independence, just to politically point score against Johnson. And its not just NS making these decisions on her own. What is she supposed to do, keep waiting for Johnson to finish a game of eeny meeny miney mo before taking action ? I have no idea if these restrictions will work but with 7 months to the Scottish Elections they certainly aren’t safe, vote winning decisions.
  7. My husband watches that when he is off and I am at work. I think he would agree ‘escapism’ is an appropriate word. The further he can escape from me the better 😊 It looks quite good from the bits I have seen. Surprised no one has mentioned ‘Des’ the Dennis Nilsen drama that David Tennant is in. I thought it was really good. I havent seen any other documentaries about Nilsen but anyone who has saw actual footage of him has said how well Tennant has portrayed him. On a totally different viewing subject, I have been watching This Is Us, a cheesy American programme which probably none of you will be the least bit interested in , but your wives or partners may be. Its a few years old so the world and their granny has probably saw it, but if not I would recommend it to anyone who likes cheesy family dramas 😊Despite the corny storylines its quite cleverly done and addresses a lot of issues, in a typically American way of course. It moves back and forth in time to keep you interested. Its on Amazon Prime.
  8. Jeezo McTeeko that second photo should come with a warning. It makes my bowl of all bran look appetising. Thats a cracker. Would seem the wee man is as good a fisherman as he is a footballer.
  9. One of the few upsides of this walkathon is that I am walking places I have never been and could not believe there is a lovely walk alongside the River Gryffe just 5 mins from my house. I have lived there for 11 years as well. Unfortunately though there are signs up saying the waters are private so the great unwashed are no allowed to fish. I would probably be safe with a wee fishing net right enough ... I am going to take my niece and nephew there. They will love it. I remember when I was young my granpa took my brother and I to the Gleniffer braes every weekend , it seemed like a big adventure when we were just 6 or 7.
  10. No problem. I an still waiting for a slice of Mrs Lairdy’s delicious victoria sandwich so he can bring that. 😁 When we were walking to Kilmacolm taking in the nature we stopped for a moment and heard blasting music coming from somewhere. All of a sudden a cyclist appeared and Whatever You Want by Status Quo was blaring out from his bike , he must have had a speaker on it. It was pretty random you dont usually encounter mobile discos on the cycle path. He was heading towards Kilmacolm and I was thinking ‘ they are no going to like that in Kilmacolm’. . Mr Tidy said ‘well at least he is being safe as walkers will hear him coming’. We were on our way back, I was in a mood cause the only pub in Kilmacolm had no tables and the 2 cafes were closing. I had to settle for a co-op sandwich , and all of a sudden I was almost run over by the Status Quo cyclist, still playing Whatever You Want. He appeared from nowhere. He must have got chased out of Kilmacolm for anti social behaviour and was heading back to BoW. I got the fright of my life. My wee fitbit actually buzzed. I needed a very large glass of wine to settle my nerves when I got back. So much for hearing him coming. Ramy, sorry for hijacking your thread. Just passing some time till a fisherman appears.
  11. You might have passed me as thats also the path I run on. I would have been the very slow pensioner. Infact a cyclist actually stopped his bike to talk to me a couple of weeks ago but I had no idea who it was he had a helmet and sunglasses on. He called me Mary which is not my name so I just smiled and ran on hoping he didnt chase me. Loads of cyclists use the path, and its good for running as its nice and flat with no scary hills.
  12. Thats a tropical fish you have posted, what kind of fisherman are you ? You canny put that in a bowl or it will die 😁 I was almost in your neck of the woods yesterday. I am in a walkathon challenge and walked from BoW to Kilmacolm and back to try and get some steps. Nearly killed me. Canny see the attraction of walking , think I would prefer fishing.
  13. Thats nice you took him fishing. It’s a wee bit different and better than stuck on the couch playing xbox. The weather has generally been pretty good this summer which will have make a difference. I cannot see the attraction of fishing in the rain . I dont think I could batter the fish’s head though, those wee eyes looking up at me. Unless it looked like Michael Gove, then I would have no problem.
  14. You will be able to take your own grandson out in a few years 😊
  15. I have never been proper fishing, its not really something you see women doing is it? Dont know why, probably those maggots. Urgh , dont think i could touch them. I only remember fishing with a wee net on the rocks in Millport when I was young. I think my warm memories are probably rosier than it actually was right enough as I dont ever remember catching anything other than some seaweed and the odd crab. Then I would shite myself and drop my net as I was scared of them. I seems quite a relaxing thing to do though.
  16. 😂 I fear it may be a cunning plan to get rid of both of us once and for all. I must say I am really jealous of the emoticons on a computer. Particularly the wee rolling about laughing emoji.
  17. 😁 If, on the odd occasion I say something of interest, and more than one person quotes me then it would be good to know they have in case I want to respond. When you come onto the board using a mobile you are only alerted to one notification . Thankfully I only ever really post in this part of the board so I would probably come across the other notifications when I was reading through the thread, but if someone posted on many threads they would need to check them all to see if anyone had quoted them. Who can be bothered doing that. Or, I may want to send you a PM saying ‘ get off my back about notifications ya cheeky bassa’ , but alas there is nowhere to start a PM on a mobile 🙂
  18. I started back working in the office this week in Glasgow city centre. I was actually very impressed with how people were responding. Loads of people wearing masks outside, I am talking at least 50% of people ( I wasnt ) and 100% in shops, train station etc. Even on the escalator people were reasonably spread out , I was expecting to see some fanny barge down the side in a rush but so far its been fine. Admittedly it is much quieter in town though so probably not too difficult to spread out. There has only been about 10 people on a train carriage each day I have travelled. Good to see the trains havent been affected by the virus and things operating as they always have been. Out of the 4 days I worked we were all punted off the train at Paisley one night with no alternative transport whatsoever. Then the next morning every train from Johnstone was cancelled. Made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
