  1. Just listening back to this - she really isn't taking any prisoners. That QC training coming in handy.
  2. Sturgeon v Farage debate on 26th May apparently. I doubt he knows what he's letting himself in for.
  3. I watched the game and the co-commentator - can't remember who it was - said that playing Nugent up on his own was a tactical move as he would basically do all the hard work and that Rhodes could come on later if required when the game had opened up a bit. Remember, Boro only needed a draw in this game so it's understandable that they wanted to keep it tight Possibly explains why Strachan is reluctant to select him. Its good that Boro gave gone up as it will give Rhodes an opportunity to prove whether he's the real deal or not.
  4. I thought Dugdale made a very good point regarding Named Person, the Government haven't made a particularly good job of explaining what the legislation exactly does. Albeit that it's difficult to do that when there's a lot of misinformation and hyperbole flying around, but still they are the government and they are supposed to be able to do difficult things. I'm not sure I necessarily agree with a need to pause it though. i see that Ruth is looking to use this as a test of her new super-opposition. I can't see them winning a vote on this. i don't think they'll get this opposition MSP on board although he is a Lib Dem so who knows - actually a pretty good explanation here.
  5. Linda Fabiani and Christine Graham. That should be interesting.
  6. One's a striker and the other is a right back
  7. To add to that pain, Kenny Gibson is standing for Deputy.
  8. I know exactly where Westhill is and it is certainly not "in town". See those big green bits with cows and sheep on them, that's called the countryside. See that letter P in AWPR, that stands for Periphery, you might want to look up exactly what that means. It's not so much a question of how easy it is to get to the ground its all to do with the difference an out of town stadium makes to people's matchday experience and routine and also to the make up of the support. There's a big difference to a stadium that is in a city centre, which effectively Pittodrie is and one that out in the sticks, sitting off a dual carriageway junction with no facilities around other than what is actually available in the ground.
  9. Arguably an out of town stadium with road access only would mitigate against that. Good for families but not so good for the "man/women in the street", especially those that want to have a couple of pints before or after a match.
  10. Mulgrew is out of contract at the end of the season and looks like he won't be a Celtic player next season, plus he is just back from a long lay off.
  11. Interesting the way that Strachan announced the squad but if Hibs get through against Falkirk he won't be in Malta, which was my point. FWIW, I think he's well worth his place in the squad.
  12. Judging by yesterday's Scottish Questions, which in common with just about everything in the House of Commons at the moment was in reality EU Referendum Questions he's firmly in the remain camp. TBF, I'm assuming Merryn Somerset Webb is a Leave.
  13. Tonight's panel from Aberdeen Fluffy Mundell Sr. Kezia "Third Place" Dugdale Humza Yousaf Jim Sillars Merryn Somerset Webb So that's three remains and two leaves.
  14. I think there were a fair few that only joined the SNP after the referendum. Pretty sure Jeanne Freeman wasn't in the SNP for one. She was certainly generally referred to as a former advisor to Jack McConnell.
  15. To be fair, there were even more people who came to prominence as part of the Yes campaign that are now either MPs or MSPs.
  16. Search for "braveheartlynch" on YouTube.
  17. Might be the best way forward for Plaid that. Get a foothold in government and start to put some pressure on Labour, show themselves as being competent.
  18. He might be called into the squad but he won't be in the one announced tomorrow.
  19. Nah, its just that Ken is down with the kids. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=woWhDhm0Y8o
  20. McGinn won't be in the squad - at least not for the game in Malta - as it clashes with the play-off final.
  21. That's probably not far off the mark. In the late 70s, a decent midrange player would've cost in the region of 200k. Nowadays it's more like 20 million. Of course one major difference between now and then is that there wasn't the same disparity between Scottish and English transfer fees. Dalglish went for the UK record of £440k and he was an established SPL player and internationalist and arguably the best player in the UK at the time. The same year, Rangers paid £100k for a promising youngster from Clydebank by the name of Davie Cooper.
