  1. Just watch what you enjoy. You don't need any individual or media company to tell you what is the "best league in the world" anyway. That's a ridiculous concept. I enjoy Serie A and the lower leagues of Scottish fitba. Crack on and enjoy.
  2. The Fluminense shirt is beautiful. I have one from several seasons ago.
  3. Is the QF draw tonight after the Darvel - Falkirk game?
  4. To be fair to the board, I doubt anyone knows of him - and that's not a dig at anyone's football knowledge. I only became aware of him just before the World Cup. Pre-tournament research into Morocco. I discovered Halilhodzic was the man who qualified them but then was bulleted after a serious falling out with the Federation. Did some research on him with a view to a separate article on the man and he has quite the chequered history. Still haven't gotten around to the article ha.
  5. Hopefully over time the use of VAR in Scotland's top division will help to raise the standard of refereeing in this country. At the moment things look bad as the officials are being exposed for what they are - not too good at the job, albeit I concede it is a difficult job. The VAR tools are here to stay so might as well get used to the process. It would definitely be a shout if there was some sort of press conference say two days after each match day where the head of refereeing could brief the press on ALL the Premiership games that have taken place, and walk through any contentious decisions or VAR moments. This would maybe help fans, players, officials and media understand things better and lead to more reasoned debate. Serie A has started using the semi-automated offside technology we saw during the World Cup. They are the first league to do so. I guess the other big, richer leagues will follow suit. I'd imagine the expense involved in that will mean we won't see it in Scottish football for a while but sensible application of the laws, and solid on field decision making, backed up by VAR when needed, is the way forward. It's nice to dream.
  6. Vahid Halilhodzic would tick the boxes of having no connection to Scottish football and not giving a flying you know what about directors or big name opponents. He might be too combustible though ha ha. Not even sure if he is looking for work right now, but there's my wild suggestion.
  7. Good stuff @McTeeko - delighted Atalanta delivered the three points last night for you to witness in person. Gasperini has stumbled upon absolute gold with Boga, Lookman and Hojlund as the attacking three right now. Let's hope they keep firing. As I type this Sassuolo take a 2-0 lead at San Siro - but you already know that! Enjoy the rest of the trip.
  8. OK, was just interested. I guess the clicks on their websites are more valuable to them than the sales of papers these days anyway.
  9. I was just wondering if that was the media he consumes regularly.
  10. Please, may I ask, and expect an honest answer - do you buy either or both of those publications?
  11. French series Black Butterflies on Netflix is very good. 6 episodes. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Well written television. It does feature nudity and scenes of sexual assault, or attempted sexual assault, so if that makes you uncomfortable probably avoid.
  12. Cheers Ramy, pleased you enjoyed the read. Obviously it is in the main a review so the readership of that site in Japan can quickly condense how the players have been doing so far this season, but feel free to share if you are on any Celtic groups online or facebook or anything.
  13. https://featured.japan-forward.com/sportslook/the-japanese-impact-at-celtic-fc-continues-as-the-2022-23-season-heads-to-its-conclusion/ My sports editor in Japan wanted an update article on the Japanese contingent at Celtic. Anyone interested feel free to read.
  14. Yeah, having Taylor and Catterall doing that after the report earlier in the day was strange. All I'll say is nothing has been officially announced by the lead promoter of the show, Boxxer yet. I guess since the tickets were going on sale on the 26th January we should expect formal clarification between now and then. As for last night, I though Eubank Jr would have been too big and swift for a shop-worn Smith last night. Maybe he's been overrated all these years due to the family name.
  15. All of those board members, Aignelli, Pavel Nedved etc, resigned in November as they knew this was coming down the pipe. Rotten bastards the lot of them. They are truly the bad apple of the league - doesn't make the entire league corrupt though. And at least they have been punished. Not so sure footballing authorities in other countries would do the same to a big club.
  16. ALERT - it's being reported that this fight is off. According to ESPN, Taylor has suffered a torn planter fascia and the bout is postponed. Jesus.
  17. It is in use at the Premiership grounds. Ridiculous as you say. I genuinely thought there was no VAR until the semi-finals and final as then at least it would be the same with those three ties all taking place at Hampden.
  18. Watched it all the way through. Fairly enjoyable without being outstanding or anything. Its main selling point was/is the episode order thing. A few plot holes but overall well enough written and acted I thought.
  19. see the message directly above your one. Fight is on March 4th at the Hydro. Tickets on sale on boxxer.com from Jan 26th which is a pre-sale you need to register for.
  20. Started watching Kaleidoscope on Netflix and enjoying it so far. It's a heist drama. It's made in such a way that, according to the teaser, the episodes can be watched in any order - depending on how your Netflix menu presents them. It's an interesting technique and I think I will stick with it just for this reason alone. Anyway I've watched two episodes so far and have enjoyed both.
  21. Must be some value on the other side of that bet then for anyone thinking Killie will be the club to advance to the final.
  22. The fascist regime in Westminster will step up its campaign against working class people. Buckle up. The TRNSMT festival will set the standard for the largest gathering of neds of all ages since records began. The sport of boxing will pretty much assassinate itself. Hardly anyone is interested anymore anyway. Only An Excuse will make a comeback with a younger generation of actors. It will be complete shite. The crowd at the World Darts Championship will be, to a man, utter wankers with the worst banter on the planet. Tiger Woods will win a golf tournament.
  23. Aye, we shall see. I know he has had ups and downs. Did OK with East Fife I am led to believe. Decent start with QOTS before it went a bit pear-shaped. From the Stenny point of view I can always remember his Edinburgh City teams being well organised and tough for us to play against. I hope he brings that to the talented but underperforming squad currently on the books at Ochilview.
  24. Watched Serie A for years without forming an attachment to any club - I just enjoyed the style of football and the competition. Then Gian Piero Gasperini arrived at Atalanta and started his footballing revolution there in 2016/17 and I was hooked. The small, lower level Serie A club suddenly challenging the big guns awoke something in me. Always got awesome kits too, which is a bonus. A book titled The Working Hands of a Goddess by Tom Underhill came out last year. It's a good account of Gasperini's time at the helm in Bergamo.
