  1. Good result considering we weren't that great especially in the first half. That's ROI out of the way for us now 4 points taken off them, very good indeed. Beat Georgia, Poland and Gibraltar then we are very likely to qualify automatically. Failure to beat Poland and then it is play-off time, and judging by the caliber of teams who may finish third, will be quite difficult.
  2. Ah right apologies for that then! You're completely right, getting wins is all that matters and if we beat Georgia 1 - 0 away via an own goal I don't think anybody would be complaining.
  3. Pretty sure said person was talking about the Georgia match with that one. Don't think anybody could use that description for the ROI match.
  4. Whilst I agree, I can't see where I stated on the contrary...
  5. Indeed. I'm not really bothered how we get the win just as long as we do. Sometimes though it would be nice for it to be a bit more comfortable, but that's not going to happen when Scotland are playing!
  6. Don't matter who you're playing a 1 - 0 lead is always dangerous, yes on the whole the match might've looked comfortable, but it only takes a second to score a goal and Georgia did look dangerous albeit sporadically.
  7. Would've liked a player as prolific as Keane was during the last decade.
  8. I only really pay attention to both forms of European competition when Scottish teams are involved, lose interest after that. Really enjoyed seeing Rangers and Celtic in the CL Last 16 and also that year Aberdeen played Bayern Munich. Otherwise I haven't really got much to go on as I'm only 22, don't remember the ultimate glory days.
  9. I liked the Croatia away one as it came out of nowhere.
  10. I think Wales have solid first team outfit all they really lack is a striker. Bale is obviously world class, Ramsey I wouldn't say he is, but he is higher EPL standard. Then players like Joe Allen, Ashley Willams, Collins are all pretty solid too. People are downplaying Wales chances of qualifying, but they are well positioned. The dropped points against Bosnia aren't too harmful considering how badly they have started. They got a draw in Belgium and have beaten Andorra, Cyprus and Isreal, couldn't ask for much more really. With the way the group is going I think they will qualify as Bosnia were the biggest threat for second who already looked to have blown it, whilst I can't see Isreal or Cyprus realistically beating them to second. Good luck to them and good luck to NI also who got a good result against Finland. They look well positioned too, but can still easily blow it. Have said all that it would be horrible if they all qualified and we didn't!
  11. Football forums are the home of 'knee-jerk reactions' anyway. Just take it with a pinch of salt.
  12. Good. Hopefully it was just a plastic minority then.
  13. On this other forum I use, the Manchester United 'fans' have been celebrating Fletcher leaving akin to having thrashed Liverpool 5 - 0 or something. What a joke for a man who has given so many years of service to them and was a vital big game player for them in his peak. Hopefully these plastics are just a minority opinion...
  14. I think that would've been down to Strachan's personal feelings at the time. If Strachan himself felt like it was time to go had the above scenario happened then yeah he probably would've walked. However I can't see the SFA punting him if that scenario had happened, considering the time they gave to Levein/Burley and the fact that Croatia/England away are difficult games along with Belgium at home. We were building towards the EURO 2016 qualifiers so he probably would've stayed regardless.
  15. Haha, it's going to be a long time till March!
  16. Watch my club team Barnsley loiter in League One mid-table mediocrity.
  17. Obviously it hurt losing to them, but it will be funny listening to the hype once they win all their groups games to be seen as nailed on winners for the tournament.
  18. Lars Lagerback would've been a good choice for us after Burley was punted, look what he is doing with Iceland.
  19. I'd say Bardsley if he is still getting a run of first team games with Stoke.
