Need some kind of nutjob per capita measure I suppose. And it might be a quirk of the french deparmental system, but paris only has 2 million residents and is 10km across. Anything outside that ring absolutely categorically isn't paris. Especially important for the old house prices... I agree it's stupid, but the parisians are quite adamant about it.

I'm talking about the city of Paris itself, which is quite a well defined area, comparable in size to glasgow. Within that area there's nowhere I don't feel safe. The suburbs are another story (those aren't paris though, think lanarkshire) but who would ever go there anyway? Some might say I moved the goalposts slightly...

Marseille I don't know well enough. But there's absolutely nowhere I wouldn't go in Paris. No ghettos at all in the city of Paris (despite what the media might feed you). Greater Glasgow is a comparable size to Paris and there are many places I wouldnt go. The suburbs are a different story but that's not Paris Anyway, the main point was that Marseille isn't as bad as people would have you believe. And the English hoolies are just ignorant c##ts.

Im quite sure that chunky lad with the skinhead and traditional hoolie gear on who was screaming in the face of the police was just having a quiet wee beer before bed time. Remember it's also Ramadan so if the English are noising up the locals before sunset they're going to get a stronger reaction back. Hunger can make people quite irritable... I feel more intimidated in Glasgow than in Marseille to be honest.

Try living in it and being surrounded by the 'euro fever' yet just feeling apathy and embarassment. For years i imagined how exiting this month would be with an expanded 24 team toirnament making it almost certain we'd qualify. Albania. N Ireland. Wales. How did we end up so low? The French tv pundits are taking a lot of positives out of that match. It was the perfect preparation match for the euros. Lots of confidence etc. I think they've seriously underestimated how sh#te we are.

The French already saw us as a joke of a nation. I already get it in the neck every year for the 6 nations. The no vote was hilarious for them. Now the football team too with this embarassing level of football. And to top it off they're playing in that comedy pink strip.

The sunday TGVs are traditionally jammed even with a full service. Id show up quite early and just take your place in the bar carriage.

Repeating this kind of thing a lot these days but some people just don't get it. Why are people thinking that we have a good chance against the 2nd seed just because they're a 'small country'? If we'd got Italy as 2nd seeds the same people would be fearing them. Just because they have Slov or Slav or any other kind of 'pishy wee country crap' in their name doesn't mean they're cannon fodder. This isn't 1976. It really is the remnants of an arrogant British attitude to the rest of the world (as is this EU referendum...).

The French were quite clinical but they're also under some pressure not to implode now. The old media hype problem... It gives a glimmer of hope for Scotland but bare in mind that to get 2 goals you need to take at least 2 shots at goal...

I called it against georgia the day the draw was made and im calling this one too. Malta will be at best a draw. It's got that 'hot country' thing that makes all our pink faced players turn shite and that weird British arrogant attitude to 'pishy wee countries' thing that england can afford to have because they have the quality but we can't. Malta lost 1-0 at home to Italy. They're no mugs. We'll be lucky to get a draw.

Italy were pressuring everything the Scots did to the point they made it look like we can't even take a throw in with more than a 50% chance of success. Will be interesting to see how they do against Belgium.

I fear for thr French match now. The French are already in an English style 'football's coming home' frenzy and they're ready to batter people in the friendlies as the fans are demanding it. We'll see how they treat Cameroon tonight...

It's quite an important match for a lot of the italian players because it's the last match to get themselves through to judges houses. Those players are taking it seriously.
