  1. Striker wise Aberdeen have came out massively ahead. 2 million in and a better strike force signed albeit on loan. If Hornby and Kamberi hit decent form the race for second could be interesting.
  2. Not sure if either would be great for him. West Brom under Allardyce, wouldn't be great for his development. Route one and old school coaching.
  3. They have a one year option on his contract. Still given his performances, I'm sure quite a few clubs will be having a look at him.
  4. With the financial situation at Dundee United, I can see him and other lads being prepped to become the first team next season. Could be good long term for them. Dundee United seem to have a fantastic crop of young players coming through atm.
  5. Zak Jules being linked with Cardiff and Blackburn. Left Reading a couple of years and is now in League 2 and doing very well. He's only 23, so hopefully he can get a move to the championship and continue his development. We need all the Cb's we can get. Zak Jules seems to have turned his career around. I remember him at the u17 Euro's and he was literally only there for his pace and strength. From what I've read he's developed the technical side of his game and turned into a half decent ball playing defender.
  6. It's good business but it also makes their summer rebuild even harder. Frimpong would've been first choice RB and with a decent manager and experience he could've improved his defending and end product. I'm quite glad he's going. Adds another position and player to an ever growing list they need in the summer. Celtic will now need at least 10 players in the summer and at least 5 of them have to be first choice quality.
  7. I'm surprised no one has mentioned Josh Doig (18) at hibs. He looks a fantastic young attacking LB (I know another bloody one) with tons of potential. James Maxwell (just turned 19) he's on loan at QoS from Rangers and has been having a good season. He is very technically gifted and a PREM loan next season could be fantastic for his development. Sadly for Scotland he is another LB. Ben Nelson (16) is a CB and is a regular in the Leicester u23 squad. He also made the bench for the full team in one of their European games. One to keep an eye on.
  8. He was Dortmund manager where they give a lot of young players a chance. At PSG he brought through a few younger lads and gave them as much game time as he could.
  9. I think post Euro's you hope some younger CBs will kick on and step up, so Mctominay can be moved back into midfield. The problem is not many seem like they are ready or have the ability on the ball to replace what Mctominay gives us in defence. I think if Porteous could cut out the stupid stuff and tone down his aggression, then long term he could be that player. He is good on the ball and a decent passer. Gilmour should hopefully be in the Euro squad. As thankful as I am to Kenny McLean for the winning penalities, I would rather take a better younger player to the EURO's who long term could be our main man. It's kind of scary how good of a ball playing team we could have in 4/5 years if they continue to develop. Just need to find a keeper and central defender 😅
  10. At the same age for me Patterson is a better player and prospect than Hutton was. Hutton wasn't in the same position Patterson is until 20/21 and it wasn't until he was around 22/23 that Hutton exploded and looked a great player. They do have very similar styles and outside of injuries I can see Patterson having a very good career and probably eclipsing Hutton's career. I feel bad for Hutton injuries and making the wrong move, a bit too early really curtailed his progress. I think in hindsight staying at Rangers to finish that European campaign, getting the experience of that and then leaving would have helped him longer term. He still had a great career but at that time he was soo highly rated and could've been our superstar. On young promising Scottish RBs Harrison Ashby at West Ham is very highly rated and looks very promising aswell. Hopefully both Patterson and Ashby kick in and we have 2 young Scottish RBs duking it out to be Scotland's first choice RB.
  11. Jack came on like a man possessed. He had a fantastic cameo. He gets a lot of he's not very good or there's better players from Rangers and Scotland fans. But he really is key to Rangers style and it's no coincidence that rangers dip in form post Aberdeen at home has coincided with Jack being injured. He is a key player for Rangers and Scotland whether certain people like it or not.
  12. It really depends. Patterson is not long turned 19, while Tav is 29 and has 18 months left on his deal. If Tav doesn't sign a new deal, then he will be sold and Patterson's gametime goes through the roof. If Tav does sign a new deal then Patterson probably plays slightly more than this season. Personally if Tavernier signs a new deal, I'd loan Patterson out to a decent SPL side and sign someone on a short term deal to back up Tav. He'll be 20 next season and only playing 10-15 games at that age wouldn't be as good for his development as a full season at somewhere like Hearts or Ross County. Patterson after months of first team training and shadowing Tav, looks a far better player than he did against Lech in his last appearance. He looks a lot more mature, stronger and confident in attack.
  13. Especially when they rested 7 players from Saturday and brought on 2 players for their debut. Basically the Livi B team just drew with Celtic and could've won it, had Kamala's elbow at the corner been punished. That is seriously impressive, especially coming back from 2-1 down, a lot of teams would've buckled in that position.
  14. I didn't think he really caught him either at first but when the Livi boy comes up you can see a big bruise like mark on his face.
  15. Pretty much this. Unless Celtic are going to try and set a lowest appearances for a testimonial record, he will be gone in the summer.
  16. Surely Celtic can't allow him to carry on. He's the figurehead of the team and has just made countless baseless claims and accusations, that could have ramifications for both him and Celtic. He seems like he's another bad day away from claiming fake news and making masks a political issue.
  17. That's it. It's because usually Celtic fans and their media men (Sutton, Hartson, etc) don't call them out and will usually defend them to the hilt (It's the same for Rangers). However this time pretty much everyone has agreed how stupid and tone deaf this trip was and how much it has cost Celtic. Very few fans have defended it and you'd be lucky to find more than a couple of media defenders.
  18. Good ones like Stewart, are you actually taking the piss? He is utterly woeful. He is the ultimate bombastic commentator. Very little substance in what he says. He also loves "I don't like a rule, so it isn't a foul", every Sportscene it's the same. Scottish football has no good pundits. Boyd, Sutton, Provan, Stewart they are all Garbage.
  19. I can't wait for neilson having to pay his dues in the u19s before a u21 call up in 2/3 years time.
  20. Regardless of whether he chooses Wales or not, it has been evident for a very long time that we need a complete rejig at youth level. Gemmell and Stark are dinosaurs and playing honking route one football, that doesn't suit our players. They also have a tendency to stick with what they started a campaign with. I mean it took Hickey until November to finally get a u21 call up, all the while we where using Harvie who was at Ayr and then Reading who replaced him at Ayr. Why was either let alone both ahead of a younger better player, playing at a higher level. That is just madness, we should be fast tracking these lads, not making them pay their dues at lower age groups. When the new campaign starts for the u21s what's the betting you'll have guys like Reading ahead of better younger players at a higher level like Doig and Reid. I honestly hope to god some club is stupid enough to offer Gemmell a job.
  21. Nisbet for Harper along with Porteous or Hanlon for Walsh.
  22. How many people thought the same when Rangers signed Kamara. Small fee, small wage, homegrown and seems a better player than Brandon Barker. Hopefully get him in this month and punt the waste of oxygen that is Barker and the waster Jones.
  23. Are Celtic going to be the first team to have a covid breach and be awarded a 3 nil win. I can understand Hibs reluctance to play, especially with Allan have diabetes.
  24. It's apparently the fee to make the deal permanent.
