  1. Ahh Opodo , i usually dont go through third parties especially when with the same airline so it was somewhat strange that i booked swiss air through opodo dublin to luxembourg via zurich dep 11.20 fri and dep 14.55 Monday it might of been coz i couldnd get the times direct with Swiss but whatever i booked through opodo - more fool me the day before i was to travel It came to my attention that the swiss reference that opodo gave me only had the the inbound flight and not the outbound flight . when i enquired to opodo why this was they reconfirmed my booking then promptly told me that the airline had cancelled the outbound flight . Given that the flight was still showing on the departure screen i was somewhat surprised at that so when i asked them a. why didnt they tell me and b get me on another flight - they promptly done fuk all except tried to charge me another 600 quid to get on a lufthansa flight - i booked at direct flight with luxair and vowed to take it up when i got back . Photograpphic evidience was then received that the fight did take off indeed as suspected come Monday as i depart my hotel for the airport when i checked my flight it had depated at 0955 - a good 5 hours ahead of schedule - again nobody at opodo had though to inform me ergo i arrive at luxemnbourg airport with fuk all prospect of making a zurich connection and Swiss air ( it was a joint check in desk) not that bothered I hastily searched for a route home and the requiste passenger locator forms ( not that easy given the times we are in ) and luckily there was a ryanair route via Madrid which got me home about £300 quid less ( 150 each) Suffice to say i will never use them again and am currently about £500 quid down which i will likely go via the small claims court - it could of been worse but still - not a happy bunny
  2. No there is a large pub with a brewery attached at the southern end of tge main road but I didn’t like the beer nor microbrewery s in general The pub is right beside the natural history museum
  3. there is a very good steak joint just down the road from the US embassy. You can get a Wagyu steak for the cheapest anywhere The was also a very good bar opposite the natural history museum - will try and hunt out the name Chisinau is dirt poor and there are street kids with glue bags around which was quite sad and a little worrying Avoid Andys Piazza's - dodgy mafia spot where some lads got shook down
  4. I get that they are fully within their right not to recognise it , it just seems a bit odd that they currently dont recognise it at least for vaccines the EMA have approved eg Pfizer , moderna etc ( noted that the indian Astra Zeneca isnt EMA approved AFAIK though i beleive the NHS one does states which AZ you got) and the media seem to be blind to it and not even questioning the testing costs and the need for them Plenty of european passport holders have been vaccinated in the UK, maybe they are leaving it up to individual countries Irish passport holders in UK can get the EU covid passport 'shorlty' though given the politician in question wouldnt define shortly i would expect it any time soon.
  5. Possibly/ probably but after about a 4 week lag re vaccinations the EU has caught up or is catching up Ireland has a higher % fully vaccinated than the UK and just passed the Uk % 1st dosed helped in part that you need to be fully vaccinated to avail of indoor dining and travel why aren’t the media questioning the testing ? Somebody is clearly making a lot of money from it
  6. Can anybody explain why the nhs Covid passport hasn’t been accepted as equivalent to an Eu Covid pass ? And why those vaccinated in the UK still have to test ? was hoping to go to the Portugal game ( though we aren’t getting tickets now) but UK vaccinated have to test 3 times at the guts of £250 while EU Covid pass holders don’t
  7. The ‘Scottish’ End was 90% of the ground bar the away bit in the corner which was full of let’s just say not away regulars I was saying that I didn’t recall this brawl discussed here ( TAMB) nor YBIG though others were
  8. Fair enough - didn’t remember hearing about it despite being in the Scottish end at that game , TBH i wouldn’t rush back to Glasgow as an Ireland fan ’
  9. What mass brawl and between who ?
  10. Darkness - those who kill on iPlayer - danish cop serial killer hunt - very good
  11. I have been flying pretty much weekly since last july and it was never a option - fair enough when the planes were half full they would make the effort but as flights schedules got less and less planes got fuller and fuller . HEPA filtration was also mentioned
  12. MIchel barnier the chief negioator wasn’t consulted neither was the Irish government, I am content that it was cock Up rather than anything and will never happen again - Tony Connolly RTE Europe correspondsnt has the full explanation The UK thought and still do that they can bully wee Ireland only for the Eu to fully back them and the icing on the cake was joe Biden ( very well informed on border politics) be8ng elected - like I said unionists can suck it up as there is feck all they can do about it
  13. Eu officials unaware of the politics advised their intention re the border and within hours reversed it when they were informed of it by others EU officials and the Irish government unionists particularly the DUP swanned around Westminster drunk on power and hoped for a hard brexit hard border on the island despite being warned against by all parties . Thankfully the Irish government ably supported by the EU and latterly Joe Biden opposed it and so the Irish Sea border came into play . Its the least worst brexit option , the unionists can suck it up the NIP is going nowhere . Look at it as taking one for the team that they profess locality to
  14. Oh yes , Belfast both sides will be taking a keen interest in the funeral
  15. It has close to xxxx all to do with a funeral that took place months ago - it is distraction politics to avoid the elephant in the room when they thought they were getting a hard border on the island ( ahh back to the good oul days) but ended up with a sea border and a few more forms to fill in ( which I might add the rest of the island has had to adapt because of England’s decision so the rump of loyalism can suck it the xxxx up especially with the influence they had at Westminster
  16. Leadership is about leading - the leadership of unionism is frankly a godsend , Foster Paisley , Wilson , Aiken , Alistair , Dodds, Donaldson - all scrambling around trying to distract from Brexit - you could write a better script comedy gold completely inept
  17. it really is poor reporting by the media on the figures and lazy comparisons with other countries on as you say is its one or two jabs ? , two jabs as per the manufactuers recommeded interval ? or the elongated interval that the UK and i think Ireland is running with as their figues are that bad/went sharpely bad which vaccines are being adminstered ? the more probelematic Pfizer or the far easier to distribute AZ or moderna and certainly no reminding that the UK had a 3 week headstart as they took a flyer on approval which every country in the EU could of availed of if they wished but they decided to wait for the EMA to approve Still its a long race and i expect Johnson government general imcompotence will get it dragged back
  18. I really shouldn’t but GIRUY you poisoness old unionist witch
