  1. 91/92? Got to semis of euro championships (they were home and away legs then). Had the likes of Paul Lambert, Eoin Jess, Duncan Ferguson, Stephen Fulton, Stephen Wright, Scott Booth, Phil O'Donnell. Four years later we were in the Euros and World Cup. In fairness, our current crop ain't bad. Paterson, Christie, Cummings, Gauld, Nicholson, Fraser.
  2. The word from the press boys is it's unlikely we'll play anyone in November. Iceland or Switzerland away would be fantastic. Wouldn't be surprised if a few qualifying teams fancy playing us. Albania at home would be worth it for coefficient points.
  3. I'd any Scotland manager deserves at least two campaigns. The jury is out on him, and there is a hell of a lot that he does I disagree with, but happy enough to give him the 2018 campaign to see where we go,
  4. Your post makes no sense. Poland certainly wasn't a glorified friendly. I barely mentioned Gibraltar apart from saying I was in Faro. I said there are plenty idiots in our support, but just because you wear a kilt doesn't mean you're one of them. Your point has nothing to do with my post.
  5. Criticising the numbers is ridiculous. People booked up thinking we would make the play-offs at least. It was an easy point ahead of a potential play-off, the Euros and Wembley. As for the support, they were hardly going to boo the team after a 6-0 win. If Georgia away was the final game it would have been a very different atmosphere.
  6. I was talking about the last 20 years of following Scotland away, not one game.
  7. I have been going to Scotland away games for 20 years, and am currently in Faro. Yes, there are a lot of fans who are cringeworthy. Some too boozed up, some spending the game booting blow up beach balls about rather than watch the game - not realise it's annoying the hell out of people who are trying to watch rather than play their childish little game, dress way beyond just wearing a kilt and instead getting dolled up like they're going to a fancy dress party, would rather sing silly ones than ones in support of the team, and it does all smack of looking for attention, "look at us aren't we hilarious", and sometimes it actually erodes the passion from the support. I think there was a lot of it at the Gibralter game. However, just because you wear a kilt, doesn't mean you're instantly one of the above.

    Anthem

Would have liked to see the players sing it, but suppose it's a small point. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=q-WUFcJyxJ8
  9. We should be taking advantage of the fact Martin and Whittaker play with each other every week at Norwich. I'd go with:- Marshall Whittaker Martin Mulgrew Robertson Brown Fletcher Maloney Morrison Anya Griffiths

    Anthem

Yep, like in Cardiff (even though it was unintentional). Was great that night.

    Anthem

Nonsense, it's a great anthem when sung right. Anyway, here's how a RHCP version tends to go. Will be interesting to see/hear.

    Anthem

Is there anyone being brought in to sing it, or are they going for the bagpipe again? Would be good for such a big game if we could get Flower of Scotland spot on for a change rather than the drunken mess it's been recently. Noticed in Paris on Saturday night for the rugby they have microphones next to the players to pick up them singing. Don't know if that went around the stadium or was just for TV's benefit.
  13. The 13.7 isn't Aberdeen's seeding, that was Rijeka's. Aberdeen took their seeding for QR3 because the draw was made before the tie was over. Aberdeen would have reverted back to their own seeding for the play-off draw, which was 4.580. They would have been unseeded.
  14. Or, they've been successfully points harvesting more than those on less points...
  15. According to Lubo Moravcik on sportsound he said it's a 20,000 capacity ground and will be ready for the qualifers. Edit: Was beaten to it.
  16. Everyone? If Scotland have qualified (or can qualify) by Gibraltar, there'll be about 20,000 applications for that one to get a point. Depending on when they make the cut off, either straight after the qualifiers or after announcing a friendly (there could of course be a playoff) then the point gained from the England game will still be standing. In short, there'll be far more than 6,000 with points. Can anyone remember the exact points breakdown for France 98? Obviously there was less members then (but also less tickets, think 3500 for Brazil and 5500 for Norway and Morroco). From memory, think it was something like 3 points and over you got tickets to all three games. 2 pointers got a Brazil ticket, 1 pointers one of Norway or Morroco, then there was a ballot for 0 pointers. Too long ago to remember if that's correct.
  17. Think it's the team doctor. I remember him from the Craig Brown World Cup diary video.
  18. 507. By the looks of this thread we may be the only blue in that section.
  19. Are you anything to do with these ones, also on eBay? http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/161626203732?_mwBanner=1
  20. Thought he was excellent for the last 20 mins against Poland, and would be an excellent signing for most sides in the prem. Personally think he should go abroad for the next few years. He could easily hack it in the Bundesliga or La Liga. Not for one of the big boys, but your Schalkes and Real Sociedad's would love a player with his experience.
  21. Surely Gauld, Robertson, Armstrong, McGregor, Pawlett, Jack, Reynolds, McGhee, MacLeod and May will all be regulars in future? All players either in Scotland or have only just left. In fact four of the above were in the last squad with Robertson already pushing Whittaker for the LB slot. I'd say things are looking a lot rosier than 10 years ago.
  22. Tin hat on, I thought the new Wembley edged it from last year's game. If Hampden had the north stand as a carbon copy of the south stand, and the two ends behind the goal similar to the "yellow wall" at Dortmund, we'd have a stadium to be proud of ourselves.
  23. The match ticket says all public transport is free on match day, does that not include the buses/trains from modlin? If not, heard taxis are pretty cheap anyway, £30. Get 4 of you in there and it'll be alright.
