  1. Yes and that examplifies things. Our last prolific goalscorer was Kenny Miller and his Scotland career ended seven years ago.
  2. So? He has been getting increasing game time for Celtic and us and has scored for Celtic. The great chance he had from 10-yards-out was just as great a chance as McBurnie had V Slovakia and got slagged for missing.
  3. We have lacked a prolific goalscorer since Kenny Miller. The fact of the matter is our goals come from our attacking midfielders as you can see by whose been in the goals for us lately in the form of McGinn, Christie, Fraser and Forrest. Only Dykes has chipped in with goals from a striker in the last couple of years if I remember correctly.
  4. Nah that was their keeper's save from McGinn's header in the first half.
  5. No we weren't all over them but it shows we had more of the game and created more chances and more spells of pressure hence far higher corner count.
  6. The result doesn't surprise me. We just do not match up well against them. They are a well-drilled side with players that can hurt given the chance. They park the bus and we struggle to score anyway so against a team like that we'll always find it doubly hard to break them down. We are just not clinical enough in front of goal. What Clarke has to work on now is sharpening our attack and finishing. We have lost 1-0 in the last two games and you could not begrudge us wins in both games. It is the attacking third we need to improve in. Its disappointing missing out on top spot but did we really want to go up a level and get dismantled by stronger nations? Onwards and get improving our attack.

  8. Well it emphasises again that playing at big clubs in the top flight is irrelevant to how they perform at international level. All it is is a ego massager to say oooh he plays for ******** but it doesn't really matter. Probably seen as out best keeper is Andy Goram whose name was made for his time at Rangers but did spend many seasons at lower league clubs in England. Leighton was only at Man United for three years before they struck the big time and he left when their dominant stretch was only beginning to dawn and thereafter he played largely in the SPL. We've had Neil Sullivan who had more EPL experience than Leighton, Goram and maybe even Gordon put together but yet he was not in the same class as them.
  9. No you are spot on. In any sport weaknesses will get exposed at the highest level. It is inevitable.
  10. Well however many it is will be more than is vaccinated just now so like I say things will have improved.
  11. No I am not saying everything will be back to normal but it will be a good deal better than how things are at present as millions should, by then, be vaccinated whereas nobody is at present.
  12. I'd be gobsmacked if that is not insurmountable though. We have supermarkets with checkouts a few feet apart open so same could be done with the counting. In any case have we not just recently had two by-elections held that passed without a hitch?
  13. Well they were saying they'd expect a roll-out by Christmas obviously to those most at risk first such as the elderly. By spring next year it should be about rolling out to the next tier of recipients so I'd say I'd be gobsmacked if things haven't improved from now to then. In any case even if they haven't I see no reason why polling stations cannot operate under social distancing. In all elections I have voted in I have never experienced waiting in queues to vote. I went in voted and out again without seeing anyone. Besides I now vote by postal vote as a growing amount do now so that also cuts down on potential numbers at polling stations. I'd have more waiting in queues like I have now at my local post office than I would voting. Bring it on.
  14. Lets get this straight where players play (club-wise) really does not matter. For tonight example if we did a poll on who'd we want in defence Gallagher or Cooper I'd bet Gallagher would win out. Gallagher a Motherwell player and before that lower league whilst Cooper currently plays in the EPL.
  15. You do have a fixation with what clubs players play for don't you? Lets get this straight - the highest level in football is international level. Making it at international level is the ultimate. Ask professional footballers and their ultimate goal is to represent their country not to say they played for Man United or Barca or Juve. That being the case judge players on how they do at international level and in my lifetime Scotland's best have been Goram, Leighton, Gordon, McGregor and Marshall. All are amongst our most capped goalkeepers of all-time.
  16. I think the danger of it not happening have receded what with two new vaccines now in the pipeline.
  17. Just thinking where Marshall stands in terms of all-time greatest Scottish goalkeepers - certainly in the top five that I can recall in my lifetime. Top five being Andy Goram, Jim Leighton, Craig Gordon, Allan McGregor and David Marshall.
  18. And Spain taking the piss here make it 6-0. 😮
  19. A mix of both Spain being impressive but Jeez Germany are shambolic at the back. All over the place.
  20. Spain continue to run riot - they now lead Germany 4-0.
  21. I do know Israel have at least one player suspended as they had a player sent off against Czech Republic on Sunday.
  22. Spain ripping Germany apart. Approaching half-time they lead 3-0 and have hit the post and had a perfectly good goal ruled out. It could quite easily have been 5-0.
  23. No I am pretty sure McGinn is not suspended. If you look on the BBC live reporting section that runs during games it never stated he was suspended when he was yellow carded - it did for Armstrong.
