  1. BBC saying it'll be Tierney at right back, Griffiths up front.
  2. I've no issue with the formation, as you say though it doesn't bring us that balance and hasn't done so since November 2014. A 4-2-3-1 works if the personal is correct, this inverted winger he insists on using each time is the problem here. I'm clinging to a hope that Fraser may change this on Sunday but I very much doubt it and that wont be through any fault of Ryan Fraser. At one point last night while watching, it looked as if we had nobody on the right hand side. Griffiths and Snoddy both seemed to be trying to play the No. 10 role while bugger knows what Bannan was doing apart from playing the ball back or trying Hollywood passes form 50 yards away.
  3. Who do you start up front then?
  4. Yeah can see Fletcher starting, though he shouldn't be based on tonight.
  5. So after that sh*ite tonight whats peoples thoughts? Can only see 2/3 maybe 4 from tonight starting on Sunday. Anya, just about, Mulgrew and Cairney. Berra if he decides to stick with same centee halfs. Gordon Anya Berra Mulgrew Tierney Brown Fraser Armstrong Cairney Forrest* Griffiths Forrest more out of there is fook all else based on tonight If I see the team and Martin is starting It'll be hard not to stay in the pub.
  6. Utterly shocking, in every way. Hard to disagree with Barry Robsons point at half time. No doubt that the entire celtic contingent will start on Sunday, hopefully that will include Griffiths, might give us a bit more enegry. Snoddgrass, Martin, Bannan, Fletcher should be no where near it. Hopefully Fraser will be fit to start. If Martin is in the starting team, every chance I'll stay in the pub.
  7. The subs were worse in Slovakia. I remember being rather annoyed after the second goal went in. He had Griffiths warming up for at least 10 mins before hand, Griffiths sits back down literally as Slovakia score and Strachan takes another 8 mins to get him on, it was farcical.
  8. Was the same with Bertie, should have binned him after the Cardiff debacle and by all accounts they nearly did but bottled it. The only time they did bin someone on time was Burley.
  9. The worst crowd I can find in recent times was Croatia at home where it was about 30,100. I'd hazard a guess this could be our lowest Hampden crowd for a qualifier since Latvia in 2001.
  10. I'd say that but Tierney, Brown and Griffiths for Robertson, Fletcher and Rhodes. I really think now that Strachan knows he needs to change it. The way he's talking about players in midfield being able to score goals would suggest thats what he's lookig at.
  11. Agree with the kick of times but nout the SFA can do about that, tickets prices fair enough. In saying that if we were going into Sunday top of the group with 10/12 points then there would be minimum 45k there, regardless of day & time.
  12. I had wondered that yesterday when I seen it. Would think though that England would maybe wear their red one.
  13. The way he was talking today has me even more frustrated. This talk of rejuvinating the side, more pace and excitment. He should have done that 2 years ago, he should have done that away to Slovakia when he was advised to play like that by his scout. I'll believe it when I see it on Sunday though. To little to late, a win on Sunday might make it look a bit better and will probably ensure he sees out the campaign.
  14. I like McGinn he is a good player and should be at the heart of the squad, but there are other who should be ahead of him at the moment. Being a saints fan he was superb for us for 2/3 years in the Premier League including the league cup win in 2013. For me though he made the wrong move to Hibs, its suited us as we've a 33% sell on clause with him but he really needs to move this year to a better level. He's not the young lad anymore that some people paint him as, he'll be 23 in October.
  15. John Souttar is out for the rest of the season and Harry is in the youth team at Stoke
  16. Agreed watched that game last night and he done well. Makes no more than most of our centre halfs.
  17. Totally agree, would play them in behind Rhodes. Time to change it, either as a last through of the dice for this campaign or to look to the future.
  18. Other than giving the likes of S. Fletcher, Hanley, Griffiths, Anya etc. some game time we're not really get to much from this game. He may well try Tierney at right back, certainly the game to do it in. My expectation for this game is he'll play the one's I want to see against Slovenia (Fraser, Rhodes, Burke, Armstrong) then revert to his usual lathargic favourites v Slovenia.
  19. Actually like the look of that, would maybe change McArthur for Brown, given McArthurs lack of game time recently. Would be happy to see that vs Slovenia as well. Plenty of pace in there
  20. Would agree on Bardsley, to play fairly regularly since November and given our shortage are right back, to still not get the call is a bit baffling. Wallace played well enough at Wembley so wasn't expecting him to be dropped.
  21. Good squad and pleasantly surprised he's called up all the players on form and not just 2 or 3 of them. There was no way he could ignore Rhodes given he's keeping Fletcher out the Wednesday team. Ignoring the Canada game, a front 4 of Rhodes, Snoddy, Fraser and Burke or Philips really should be an easy choice. Anya, Martin, Mulgrew & Robertson/Tierney should be the defence. Midfield spoilt for choice.
  22. Will be interesting to see what he does. He said recently that none of his strikers were really playing, the only one who has was Chris Martin. He's now not played in the last two games for Fulham while Rhodes has played all but 8 mins in his first 4 games for Wednesday and from a couple of the games I seen played a 'lone' striker role in a similar system to what Strachan uses.

I know, but it makes it even worse when even that buffoon could see it!!!

The other issue with Strachan and McGhee for Slovakia was ingnoring that exact advice which was given to them by Steven Pressley who had watched their game on the Saturday. I actually think he was then on Radio Scotland on the Sunday saying exactly that.
  25. I'm all for boycoting the Slovenia game and fully undertstand the reaction on here after Friday but thing for me is that the Slovenia game is over 4 months away. For me personally I'll sit back and see what happens over the next few days or weeks. A lot could change in that time but at the same time it may not and I expect the manager will change at least, who knows on Regan. Hopefully more of the media stop giving him an easy ride in the coming weeks as some have done already this week. The manager will change before Christmas, of that I'm sure of. My stance on next years games is dependent on the replacment. If it was someone like Lagerback or Hidink, it would interest me and would impell me to give him and the team my support. Some of the abusers on here can call me a happy clapper (for note I wasnt one of the ones shouting from the rooftops in Albuferia last year) or say I'm another with my head in the sand, dont really give a flying fkuc if you do or not. I know where I stand right now on it all and its sit back and see what happens. I'll be booking no flights or anything until January at least.
