  1. I agree it won't be easy, but the Ferrer match apart, Murray played quite well in Asiia - probably his best tennis of the season. Ferrer has also had a poor reason, resulting in him struggling to make the finals.
  2. Raonic defeated in Moscow, so It's in Andy's hands now to overtake both him and Ferrer this week and move into the final qualifying spot.
  3. 2021. Think the 2016 Holyrood election will be fought on a Devo Max wait and see platform. When Westminster fails to deliver, independence will be policy Nr. 1 in 2020 and there will be no need for a long campaign, so 2021 is the year!
  4. I would have taken our results so far at the start of the campaign, but Germany aren't helping matters now!
  5. I think singing FOS now is more pertinent than it has ever been. I'll be belting it out tomorrow as loud as possible - probably with tears streaming down my face.
  6. I'm not so sure he is a royalist. Perhaps he and the SNP compromised to maximise the YES vote?
  7. Think that has blown his chance of making the finals. Slips back down to 10th in the race. He may opt to play a 500 event at Basel or Valencia before the Paris masters, but would need two huge results to make it. Sadly, his current ranking doesn't lie.
  8. Correct. They hiked up the prices post Euro '92 and fans voted with their feet. They eventually realised they made a mistake and reduced ticket the ticket prices at the last minute (possibly giving rebates). I have ticket stubs with the original price printed and then an ink stamp with the reduced price on top. The SFA will have to perform a similar climb down during this campaign IMO.
  9. The other results are also going for Murray today - Wawrinka, Nshikori and Dimitrov are heading home along with Cilic. just need Berdych and Raonic to slip up now...
  10. Unless there are about five times as many females than males in Scotland, can't see how this makes sense.
  11. Cilic knocked out in the first round in Shanghai - good news for Murray.
  12. Yep, definitely need Berdych to lose. Nishikori and Raonic are throught to the final in Tokyo, so they'll both move further ahead of Murray. Looking at the draw for the masters this week - it really couldn't be tougher. Murray has to play the first round (only the top 8 players get a bye to the second) and if all goes to plan he's then scheduled to meet Ferrer in the last 16 and Djokovic in the quarters.
  13. I used to enjoy Top Gear, but all concerned with this 'special' knew exactly the response this number plate would provoke. Clarkson and his 8 figure BBC salary can GTF!
  14. A predictable win for Djokovic - think that's now a 23-0 record for him in Beijing - but 180 ranking points for Murray, which should move him up to 9th in the race. Next week Shanghai...
  15. What about a Scottish top flight equivalent. With the exception of the couple of thousand or so Lithuanians that have played for Hearts, choice is quite limited, so starter for 10: Kharine Khizanishvili Kuznetsov Baltacha Zaliukas Kanchelskis Ketsbaia Nemsadse Mikhailichenko Arveladze Jankauskas
  16. A good performance and a quarter final against Cilic to look forward to. Unfortunately, everyone else left in the race also won their second round matches so no further ground gained. However, should Murray beat Cilic he'll move ahead of Ferrer at the very least.
  17. Langfield certainly could have done better for the first, but with both Taylor and Logan out of position - criminal offence losing shape like that while 2-0 up - he was far from being the main culprit. Couldn't believe Ball wasn't flagged off at the time and haven't yet watched the highlights to see if the abuse I was directing towards the main stand linesman was warranted or not.. Less said about Reynolds hand ball the better.
  18. Not much of a break, but Murray just starting his first round match in Beijing. Will be interesting to see what last week took out of him, although his draw isn't too bad in that he wont meet Djokovic until the semi - if all goes to plan! Also good news that Ferrer lost his first round match in Japan as he's only 130 points ahead of Murray.
  19. Excellent! A long overdue title and 250 ranking points. A step up in quality this coming week at the 500 event in Beijing. Both Djokoviic and Nadal are playing.
  20. Great fighting spirit from Murray. A set down and four match points down in the second set tie break - comes back to take the match into the deciding set.
  21. ...and into the final (after losing the first set). One match away from winning his first tournament in almost 15 months.
  22. Spent a day and night in Cologne en route to Dortmund last month and loved it. Loads of great beer halls serving Kolsch beer in traditional 0.2l glasses. Would go back in an instant.
  23. A couple of massive weeks ahead for Murray in his quest to qualify for the Tour Finals. He's just started his first round match in the 250 event in Shenzhen - next week the 500 in Beijing, followed by the Masters in Shanghai. So, 1750 ranking points up for grabs in this leg of the tour and with time running out needs some big results. He's currently 11th in the race and there are six who he can realistically catch over the next month or so - as long as he can overtake any three from: Dimitrov (+180pts) Raonic (+285pts) Berdych (+355pts) Ferrer (+380pts) Nishikori (+520pts) Cilic (+780pts) C'mon Andy!!!
