Ignored email to the supporters club and I'd would really like your opinion on it folks. Please take the time and speak honestly because as a fellow devoted member I'm in turmoil: Hi SSC / To Whom It May Concern I'm deeply concerned about the recent referendum decision and the effect the 'No' vote may have on our legendary 12th man support. As you are aware 'Flower of Scotland' is sung with great passion at all our games and references our desire to 'rise now' and 'to be a nation again' however more than half of Scotland's citizens have rejected this notion. This is potentially divisive among our support and being the most famous rousing chant of the Tartan Army, could reflect negatively on the team and atmosphere. In order to get out in front of this before our next competitive home game I'd like to to see an open and sensible discussion with the Tartan Army members to find a solution. I would propose that ALL official SSC members are invited to an online ballot where they can answer 2 simple questions. 1. How did you vote? AYE - NAW - NAIN AE YER BUSINESS 2. Should we keep 'Flower of Scotland' as our Football Teams National Anthem? AYE - NAW (If NAW please state alternative:____________) If less than 80~90% of our support voted AYE then the anthem should be dropped immediately to avoid embarrassment and for us to get behind the team with something else. I'm gutted to be emailing you this but there is many discussions through social media where fans are asking each other: where does this leave us?
