  1. Can't complain at all with the early rounds and if the SF and F were swapped around, it would be a perfect draw. Hopefully a marathon QF between Nadal and Djokovic - assuming they all get that far.
  2. I agree that the odds are against Djokovic winning the calendar slam as it's an near impossible feat - almost half a century since it was last achieved is a clue as to how difficult it is. However, I'd like to know who you would put ahead of him on grass courts? He's a double Wimbledon champion, the reigning champion, been in three of the last four Wimbledon finals and he's a better player this season than in previous years. Murray would certainly be closest to Djokovic on grass (although Federer can't yet be ruled out), but Novak looks supreme in every match he plays just now. If the calendar slam is possible, this year is definitely the best opportunity.
  3. Another (what appears to be) routine win for Djokovic in Rome for his 4th Masters title of the season and 24th overall (overtaking Federer in that respect). The bookies have him odds-on to complete his career Grand Slam in France and it's hard to argue otherwise. Hopefully Murray will be in the other half of the draw.
  4. Nadal loses his QF in Rome. This'll be the first time in more than 10 years that he's gone to RG without a clay masters tournament win. Some people have been forecasting his demise for the last few years, but they may now gave a point.
  5. Strange decision at this stage, but only Murray knows how he feels.

    Brighton

We decided to have a Friday night stopover there en route to Faro in October. Never been, so looking forward to it. Surprised how close it is to Gatwick.
  7. Murray decides to play in Rome, so he must be feeling fine physically and his confidence is obviously sky high. He'll still have a clear week to prepare for the French and with an extra week between RG and Wimbledon this year, the top players have a bit more recovery time. Possible opponents in Rome: R32 - Chardy R16 - Tsonga QF - Ferrer SF - Djokovic F - Federer / Nadal
  8. It'll be interesting to see if Andy plays in Rome next week - he's saying he'll travel to Italy tomorrow and then decide. He's in the same half of the draw as Djokovic, so knows it'll be tough. He must also be looking at the rankings and thinking he could soon catch Federer and the number 2 spot - can he really afford to miss a tournament with 1000 ranking points up for grabs?
  9. Get in! A great victory, especially on clay!
  10. Really didn't see this match turning out like this. Superb performance so far.
  11. And a break at the start of the 2nd set. This is too good to be true!
  12. I think that Djokovic has improved to an extent that he's now the best in the world on all surfaces. We'll see if that's confirmed during the next couple of months.
  13. Convincing performance. This time last week Murray had never played in the final of a clay tournament, now he's heading into final number two. Nadal's probably still not 100%, so Andy gas a chance tomorrow.
  14. Agree with that. Njshikori must be slight favourite on this surface. A huge test for Andy.
  15. Many of them have already said they don't. The problem is, it's almost impossible to lose to Montrose - they're honking.
  16. It would only be a disaster for Brora, who really, really don't want to take their place in the league.
  17. That was exactly the sort of 'easy' victory that Murray needed after playing until 3.00am this morning in the previous round + the Monday finish in Munich. He has an evening match scheduled tomorrow, so should get and good nights kip!
  18. People don't mention it much, possibly due to the tragic end to the fight, but the first round of Benn v McLellan was like no other IMO. I've still no idea how Benn was standing at the end of that three minutes.
  19. Yes!!! Nothing between the players, but Murray's first title on clay! Now onto Madrid...
  20. Eventually back on court in Munich and Andy take the first set with a tie break. Hopefully the rain can stay off!!
  21. Aye, 4-2 on pens I believe after the two 1-1 draws and extra time. I searched all over the place trying to find out the result.
  22. Job done in the two singles matches today, which is all that mattered - the doubles proved a match too far. A good test to see if Andy can recover from seven sets of tournament tennis today to win his first clay court title tomorrow.
