  2. Another war in the middle east Possible Tory/UKIP coalition and or alliance (think the Tory's will have their own majority though) £25 billion in cuts on the way Shed loads of UK civil service job cuts in Scotland More privitisation of public services The list is endless for increasing another referendum opportunity We only need to win once
  3. Agreed - my Dad is 83 and he could not wait for me coming home to take him down to Vote Yes Even told the No canvasser that he would move to America if it was a No vote (obviously he wouldnt and it was for effect which was magic)
  4. I can almost guarantee you that the No voters on here did not vote that way because they thought Scotland would get more powers. They will be the ones that Annabel Goldie referred to this evening as people that simply want to be a part of the UK and have no interest in any more powers. They probably wouldnt even bother if the Scottish Parliament was dissolved
  5. Its getting more and more likely that the SNP are going to be pushing for home rule in the short term - full powers except defence and foreign policy A good tactic i feel on the road to full indy. Pete Wishart has just posted this which i think is telling in the run up to oor Nicola taking over (be careful reading it - it took my eyes a minute or so to adjust after it. Maybe just me) http://petewishart.wordpress.com/2014/09/23/moving-on/ Ive also noticed a common theme from the unionists - "the majority have voted to be part of the UK which implies no change or more powers are wanted " Labour guy said that last night and repeated by Annabel Goldie tonight
  6. Well to be pendantic maybe the postal votes were even more weighted towards No - would explain prediction before 10.30pm !
  7. You too Plinthy and i did miss you We have something in common now
  8. I dont think that it is wrong to assume that on the day of the vote more people voted Yes than No but obviously not by a huge margin. This was the impression given by those that were at the polling stations and on social media. I struggled to therefore understand why the head of YouGov would put his reputation on the line before even half an hour had passed when the polls closed and state that he was 99% sure that No had won. The only reason he could do this was if the almost 800,000 postal votes had been sampled - remember that No won by 400,000 votes. It might be naive but if the postal votes were untampered and they showed a clear majority for No (say 70-30 or maybe even more) then there would have been no requirement to have any major tamporing or rigging of the ballot box votes - not that there were a few minor cases. As most postal votes would have been from pensioners this would go hand in hand with the demographic results where over 70% of those aged 65 and above voted No So it all makes more sense ..maybe
  9. There's another one going about on twitter about ballot boxes being destroyed and video evidence of it exists Im holding my breath Others are ballot boxes leaving the polling stations unlocked and/or the polling attendants not being allowed to travel to the count destination with them ....

  11. As stated on Scotland 2014 tonight the SNP may put full Independence on the backburner for the moment and push for home rule which is control over everything except defence and foreign policy I know it's hindsight but that is what the referendum should have been about. We would have skooshed it Then all it takes is a couple of wars which are guaranteed and we have full Independence The crux however as always is that Westminster would still want a cut of the Oil & Gas so i cant see them giving us full control over that initially
  12. This was the full vote in 2010 http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/shared/election2010/results/region/7.stm 63.8% turnout was quite high Actually agree with Eddard in that it will be difficult to actually stop Labour getting a lot of seats - but not impossible. It's likely the Lib Dems will be wiped out so it will be between Labour,& SNP with most of the 45% voting SNP. The Tory vote will likely be the same Labour got over a million votes so not hard to see what needs to happen
  13. Ive had to resort to buying the Scottish Sun for my daily paper - there is no other choice really. They were at least fair What annoys me is i'm struggling to do the two speed crossword when i'm having my after work jobby
  14. As has been said many times before we even think about another referendum we need to have things in place. It's no use saying lets go again in 2020 without at least - Broadcasting powers fully devolved and some Scottish owned newspapers offering unbiased media Scottish Government setting up it's own bank
  15. Articles from 2010 are quite popular this evening - see my own thread !
  16. Having any new referendum without overcoming the obstacles of this one would be pointless The most important thing is not focusing on another referendum but having plans in place to give us a better chance of winning - currency & economy being the main hurdle
  17. I know Betty. Point is that Yes should have used it at a lot of the debates
  18. Sorry 500,000 to go - 50,000 in Scotland I work in the public service and have already been to a "building our future" event which basically said probably best if you start to make plans for something else And yet remarkably there were still loads in my work that voted No Madness
  19. Funny Danny Alexander didnt mention this at any of the debates Even the Daily Record reported it 4 years ago Most will be coming after the next GE http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/politics/almost-500000-public-sector-jobs-face-1073193
