Aye, it was only my lack of talent that held me back from the big time.

That was kind of my point. Most kids know what they're into by high school. Most lads were football obsessed. It was awful for the few lads who weren't. There should have been an alternative sport for them to choose. We should be pushing youngsters in their sporting ambitions more. (I'm aware there would have been financial/staff/ restraints) Not feckin hockey tho! Giving kids large sticks for sport at our school was never going to end well.

Had to play basketball and indoor hockey for P.E. at our high school. Bore the life out of you.

My biggest irritation with secondary schools is this bizarre thing with basketball. Basketball courts in every gym hall. Who the feck is interested in this sport in Scotland.

Was at a boxing show recently, these guys were knocking lumps out of each others heads. As much as I have sympathy with anyone dealing with this horrible condition I don't get how heading a ball can be linked to memory disease in later life and if there is (I'm no expert) the balls now aren't what they were years ago.

Yesterday my train from Waverly to Cleland (Edinburgh to Motherwell is difficult to do now for some reason) was cancelled for the 3rd time on the trot. Yesterday they laid on a mini bus which had to stop at every station making miles off the designated train times. I was the only person on it. No one else got on at the dozen stations and the driver had a right few still to go before Glasgow Central before doing the same journey on the way back. There'll always be too cars on the road until there's a serious alternative.

I sincerely hope your bet is up.
