  1. Wisnae for the want of trying. Them Tory kunts tried to rip us off. We need to keep reminding folk of that. Thankfully John Swinney stood up for the people of Scotland.
  2. I don't think there is any chance that they will increase income tax. I really hope that they don't fall into that trap. Any extra income tax that they hope to raise would be more than wiped out by a small number of folk moving their tax affairs south of the border. It would only take a very small percentage of the folk affected to do that, for it to be a total waste of time. These folk wouldn't just be avoiding paying the extra tax but moving all their income tax south of the border. If anything, I would prefer to see them reduce income tax and increase other taxes which can't be moved south. But they don't have the powers to do that. There are good reasons why they decided to give us income tax and not much else. None of those reasons were to help Scotland.
  3. At least he isn't fat. What does ugliness have to do with his ability to referee?
  4. I don't think the 2015 Scotland Bill will make much difference to anything. It is good that they have managed to stop Westminster ripping us off any more than they already do, though.
  5. I would be good at quizzes if they would just ask me questions that I knew the answers to, instead of asking irrelevant stuff about subjects I have little or no interest in. I like University Challenge but I get annoyed that about half the questions are on classical music and shakespeare. I mean, who the fuk is interested in that pish?
  6. True. I was more poking fun at Scotland's road system than your choice of quiz questions.
  7. If it's just for Scotland it's going to be a pretty short quiz.
  8. One of the benefits of a private school education, maybe?
  9. Who got "all indignant" about Salmond being fat? I think you are misrepresenting what actually happened. And it's not Labour politicians, as far as i can see it's only the one. And it would be hard to argue that she isn't.
  10. I think it is going to happen. There has been a lot of discussion about it already. Virtually everybody involved seem to think it is long overdue. This will be just the start. I think more big changes are on the way. Doesn't mean they will be any less biased though. BBC Scotland will probably still be run by Labour folk.
  11. They would probably have said " You want us to pay an extra £10 billion for some "tax powers"? Aye, nae bother we'll just increase Scottish income tax by another 3 pence in the pound to pay for it."
  12. Sounds like he has stood form and got most of the important stuff he asked for (ie no reduction to the overall budget). That's for the first 5 years anyway. Who knows what's going to happen after that? He probably bored the treasury folk into submission. Cameron probably got so fed up hearing about it, that he just said "Ach give the Jocks the extra couple of billion they keep on bleating about. I've got more important things to think about." I'm really glad it wasn't Scottish Labour doing the negotiating.
  13. I have nae idea what a samphire is. Are you sure it's not a precious stone?
  14. How do you think the UK leaving the EU would change any of this?
  15. "Over spill" is a phrase which has been used by many down to earth people for years, generations even. One place it's used widely is the bar trade. It's very likely that you have drunk pints of beer containing significant amounts of "over spill". Your pretentiousness in this thread is overtaken only by your pretensions to live in The Ferry.
  16. The Tories are not democratically accountable to the people of Scotland though. They don't give a fuk what we do as long as we don't leave them. Even if not one single person in Scotland decided to vote Tory we would still be ruled by them for at least another couple of decades anyway.
  17. Might get up to about 60% because of the "Boris factor". Whether you like him or hate him, there is no doubt that he entertains folk. And that's what the people want - "entertainment". I think the result is a foregone conclusion. Almost as boring as the AV referendum. Most folk have very little interest in politics at all, even more have little or no interest in the EU. The folk who do have a wee bit of interest, probably don't have enough knowledge to make an informed decision. I include myself in that. 4 months is not enough time to educate a nation on how the EU works, especially when you consider how we know the media are going to cover it.
