One thing we should have learned from the last leadership vote is that we should never again be dragged into the idea of televised debates to appoint the SNP leader. Electing a new SNP leader is a matter for SNP members, and only SNP members, and should have fuk all to do with anybody else.

Aye, he announced a few weeks ago that he is standing in Blackburn. It didn't get much publicity obviously. Craig Murray isn't as famous as Galloway, so has no chance of winning, but it will be interesting to see how many votes they get.

A week is plenty time to get 100 nominations for any serious contender. Even I could get 100 nominations in a week, and nobody likes me.

Why is that bit so important to you? I can't get my head around why such a minor issue has gained so much importance. This would be the worst possible time for Kate Forbes to become leader. She should bide her time until all the current pile of shyte has been through the fan. Hopefully she is smart enough to realise that she has plenty time on her side.

The people who run the British Establishment will be revelling in their victory. They might be slightly concerned that the numbers who still support independence are remaining stubbornly high. Maybe those numbers won't start to drop until the SNP has been totally destroyed?

If he resigns he shouldn't step down immediately. He should say he is staying on as FM until a new SNP leader can be elected, the same as Nicola did. That pretty much nullifies the Tory VONC, although they would probably still want to have it, just to add more humiliation onto to Humza. But the result would be largely irrelevant. Then Labour need to gamble on whether to go ahead with their VONC. Do the Greens and Ash want to bring down the whole SG? Is this really a good time for an election for any of the parties? Not the Tories, that's for sure.
