  1. If you like Chinese food The Jasmine in Grindlay Street is really good, or The Shebeen round the corner in Morrison St if you like a nice steak (big portions though so be warned!)
  2. We're both in our early 40s, France '98 was to be our first tournament then I fell pregnant - oops! Like others though we thought ach, we'll get the next one - oops again. The mood last night felt similar to the Italy game to qualify for Euros 2008. Although I didnae greet this time :s
  3. We got home to East Lothian just before 1am. Almost 1.5 hours to get to M74. We were stuck in streets surrounding Hampden for ages. Ambulance and police van (lights flashing) struggled to get through. Police on foot saw congestion and did feck all. We "only" took 2 hours to get through to the game as we took a day off work after nearly missing Germany ko due to traffic. Between adding up the holidays, trouble getting there and back and the SFA ripping off the loyal fans we are seriously considering not renewing this time round. 10+ years and never felt so pissed off.
  4. Latest Tweet: @PeterMurrell: Gonna keep this short. We've now gained 30,458 new members, doubled in size in 5 days and total @theSNP membership now 56,100 #sleeptightall
  5. Hopefully they will do something at the parly over the weekend too, rallies planned there for Saturday and Sunday
  6. Greg Hemphill James Cook (for pointing out about treasury/RBS email) Every one of the '45' on here - your posts kept me going when I was having a down day
  7. Out of the 70%+ of pensioners that apparently voted No, a low %age of them will have engaged in online activity throughout this campaign. The media they watch and read is mainly pro-union I would guess. My own mum a prime example, reads the Record, The Sunday Post and watches the BBC news. Try as I might I could not win any debates with her as she's been fed so much anti-Salmond/SNP/indy stories for so long. This group will gradually diminish, and you have an upcoming new electorate who are constantly online, on social media etc that will see both both sides of the argument in a way so many of the current older generation haven't. I think you also have a current group of 50/60 year olds who are becoming more and more internet savvy, and while they maybe voted No this time, it was a smaller %age than those in the older age bracket.
  8. Sorry :-) I was blubbing away in the living room listening to them all
  9. What is giving me hope, is the reaction of my lassie and all her friends, all in 6th year, all voted Yes. They are raging as they feel cheated by "a bunch of pensioners that might no even be alive in 10 years time" (their words no mine!). What I've been impressed with is the level of engagement they've had in this campaign, and I can this isn't going to go away any time soon. I could hear a bunch of them in the kitchen last night. A year ago the chat would have all been celebrity gossip and clothes. Last night they were animated about what was happening re extra powers and their disgust with what was going on in Glasgow. They are already talking about not voting for any unionist parties in 2015 and 2016, they badly want this chance again. While my heart aches that we couldn't give them this change now, I am so proud of them and know we have woken something up in so many of our young Scots that won't go away. :-)
  10. Just saw this on Twitter: @dscullylimerick: IPSOS MORI confirm that their opinion polls are no longer valid if turnout in Scotland hits 80% I suspect these extra voters will go for Yes His profile says he is a Candidate Phd Researcher in Politics and former Mayor of Limerick. Edit to say just saw this on other thread, oops!
  11. Make that 3 Nos changed to Yes, just learned of another. This is crazy.
  12. I've completed 4 polls since weekend, it's mental. 2 were Panelbase so is another one due out (or poss private polling I suppose). My stomach is in knots, had to take tomorrow off work :-s On plus side (and I know technically this should be other thread), I've just helped 2 undecideds to Yes, 2 friends have changed from long-term No to Yes in past week and more friends are coming out as Yes voters than No on Facebook so I'm trying to think positive!
  13. Yes Haddington shared a post on Facebook tonight. C4 political journo Michael Crick was in the Yes Dunbar shop today and he was telling them, off camera, how he'd been all over Scotland covering this. They asked him what his take was on how everything was going and he said Yes will win. I really hope so. Nerves are shredded...
  14. Guy who's been staunch no since start of campaign jumped to Yes yesterday. Fed up of scaremongering and arrogance of WM.
  15. Ive now completed 2 for Panelbase in the last week-10 days so it does exist, but the fact they are doing another looks like someone wants to keep the first one private - or else even they dont believe the results themselves so are asking again :-)
  16. Have literally just completed yet another Panelbase survey. This one also asked for an opinion on which leaders have Scotland's best interests at heart - listing all the Scottish party leaders (including Patrick Harvie), Sturgeon, Cameron, Miliband and Clegg. Also asked "if Scotland could be a successful independent country", "who has run the more positive campaign" as well as the usual "how will you vote", "how certain are you to vote" etc. Survey is open until 5th Sept at the latest.
  17. I see the wee reminder has worked, at least for one ;-)
  18. 2 guys I know were both NOs, then did a fair bit of reading and now both strong YES, so much so they share the majority of posts re Indy on FB and Twitter now. My kids' high school had a mock poll in April of those eligible to vote and it was 70% No which was depressing, but not surprising as I believe East Lothian is polling one of the lowest Yes returns. Daughter is in 6th year and said that since returning after summer hols there has been a significant swing to Yes. They were on Sky News this morning, was hoping they'd do another poll but sadly not. I've seen several similar posts on Twitter about schools across the country, here's hoping the parents are doing the same!
  19. I've completed a Panelbase and a You Gov survey in the last 7-10 days, had hoped at least one would have been published by now...
  20. Someone's obviously feeling better, cheeky!
